Elion stared at Valerian for several seconds before allowing a pleasant smile to spread across his face.
"All right."
Celeste's gaze immediately snapped toward him. "Elion."
"Do not worry, my dear. I will be careful."
"I was not worried about you." Her crimson eyes moved toward Valerian, giving him an almost pitying look.
The young noble suddenly felt his blood run cold.
Elion gave Celeste's hand a light squeeze. "I will be quick."
She gave him a stern look. "No killing anyone, remember?"
"That rule was for Zenith."
"It applies to everyone."
Valerian swallowed before forcing himself to regain his composure. "Then you accept?"
"I accept a demonstration."
"A demonstration?"
Elion stepped forward.
"I have no interest in spending the entire night fighting every offended and foolish young noble standing outside these gates."
Several expressions immediately darkened. "So all of you can attack together." The courtyard became eerily silent.
