The ladies exchanged excited glances.
Approval and anticipation flowed from each person. All of them deemed the idea as fun. Fun in the form of a casual power play. Bets were such a tool in the political world.
As the maids poured the steaming tea into delicate porcelain cups, the ladies' chatter grew more animated.
"I'll wager he'll make an appearance." Lady Eunice said, her voice confident. "The Crown Prince is the commander of the imperial knights"
Lady Alteid nodded in agreement. "He worked very hard during the war and would want to be celebrated."
The other ladies murmured their assent, most of them convinced that the Crown Prince would indeed make an official appearance.
I listened to their banter, a sly smile spreading across my face.
"Very well, ladies." I was amused that most were off the same opinion. Social views tends to move like that most of the time. Most were just agreeing with their close acquaintance. Such silly ladies.
