Kirinji returned the orb into Unohana's chest and healed the remaining wound before cleaning his hand on his shihakusho and then reforging it using a peculiar greenish blue glow on his hands.
Unohana opened her eyes slowly. The light that pierced her pupils seemed brighter, the sounds of the various birds chirping in the surroundings seemed louder and the various smells around her seemed stronger but those were not the differences she was focused on.
Instead, Unohana focused on the strange buzz in her chest.
She placed the face of her palm right above her sternum and felt a soft pressure different from her hand, pressing against the inside of her chest, as if there was something there that hadn't existed before.
Unohana felt a stark difference in her body.
"How's it?" Kirinji asked softly.
Unohana nodded, "There's something there that I didn't feel before… I don't know how I missed it earlier… but now that I can feel it, I can say that it was always there with me and I just overlooked it."
Kirinji nodded, "That's your soul's core. It is untouchable by normal means and can only be touched by kaido or by the person it belongs to. Studying it will slowly allow you to modify yourself and make yourself better than before."
Unohana nodded.
Haruto finally opened his eyes in the Template Inventory Space.
"Explosion?" Megumin asked softly, and eagerly but Haruto shut her down quickly, "No, this time it was about a man pulling out Unohana's soul and rewriting it."
Megumin shivered involuntarily as she looked at Unohana once more with wide horrified eyes.
"So you've seen the beginning, Haruto-kun…" Unohana said with a smile.
Haruto wanted to say several things to Unohana, but he couldn't find the words to do so.
In the end Haruto simply spoke calmly and said something very simple, a question, "Will you start learning about the body and the soul now?"
Unohana nodded, "This is where I began learning about Kaido. Good luck… you will need it."
Haruto frowned and closed his eyes once again.
Time flew by rapidly as Haruto went through Unohana's memories of training under Kirinji.
The days were filled with experiments on humans and hollows without any quincy since those were of the rare kind while Unohana learnt the way the human body worked practically.
Her previous knowledge about how the human body was connected to the different parts in itself showed brilliantly as Kirinji taught her, since she was able to piece things together rather easily using her experience skinning live subjects.
It was only after Haruto went through about two hundred years of dense and continuous tutoring under Kirinji that he broke away from Unohana's memories for the day and returned to the Template Inventory space.
"How long has it been?"
"It's eight thirty in the morning right now." Megamind softly reminded, causing Haruto to hurry up once again, but before he left he gave Unohana a status update. "I finished your time tutoring under Kirinji… I'm guessing next is your practical training time as the head of the fourth division."
"Yes, that would be correct." Unohana nodded with a smile, "You went through it faster than I expected. Congratulations Haruto-kun…"
Haruto smiled and shook his head, "The only reason I was able to do this is because of Grindelwald's Occlumency skill, it wouldn't have been possible to do on my own."
"I look forward to our evening spars then, Haruto-kun… we didn't have one yesterday… but we shouldn't break tradition from today."
"Alright." Haruto nodded since he was a little excited about fighting Unohana now too.
He didn't get any Kaido from Unohana's memories to use since the reward for the mission was just knowledge about the body and the soul, he couldn't perform a self healing jutsu like Tsunade's Creation Rebirth Jutsu.
But he could at least look into modifying the Scabbing Jutsu he'd just recently learnt with the knowledge in Unohana's memories about the human body he'd just gotten to begin slowly healing his wounds in battle to become an undying fighter as long as he had chakra.
Yet there was something else that Haruto was super excited about and pumped to try out.
'I think I will get the ability to sense my soul once I go through all the memories in Unohana's mission reward…'
'If the principles of the souls in both the Naruto and the Bleach world are the same I can reconstruct my body using my soul like Orochimaru's body was reconstructed by Sasuke using his soul inside Anko's cursed seal during the Fourth Great Shinobi World War.'
He exited the Template Inventory Space and went to Training Ground Seven after a quick shower. There he met Kakashi and Naruto before going straight to the Interrogation and Torture department to meet Daichi.
His footsteps were quieter this time so Daichi didn't say much regarding that and even offered him a few encouraging words before they began to train on prisoners with internal wounds.
Haruto tried to heal the prisoners normally using the scabbing jutsu but it was quite tough to do so since the organs he healed all kept merging with each other as he was healing them mostly blind.
This only increased the pain in the body of the prisoner causing them to either pass out or straight up die because he had merged two wrong organs together, like passing the gall bladder's fluids into the lungs causing the prisoner to drown etc.
In the end, Haruto had to rely on Unohana's knowledge of the body to perform half decently since his chakra control still wasn't up to par and couldn't properly distinguish between organs to heal them separately. After all, to get a more clear picture of the organs he needed to add more physical energy to the chakra he created, but doing so made it harder to control and Megumin's Chunin level chakra control was already hard at work to help him out with the basics of the jutsu.
In the end however, Daichi was still surprised that Haruto managed to heal the internal wounds of prisoners even a little decently.
"It usually takes about three to four years for a genin to be able to learn how to heal internal wounds properly… but you're already one fourth of the way there in just a few hours and even then your limit isn't your skill but your chakra control ability. It seems my teaching you Medical ninjutsu has been the best decision so far."
Daichi's impression of Haruto was thoroughly changed to say the least.
"You may leave for today… we'll continue working on internal injuries for now until you get down the basics and don't make any obvious mistakes in the near future."
Haruto nodded and quietly left the Interrogation and Torture Department to go see Kakashi and Naruto before going to the Research and Development department.
Once at the research and development department Haruto looked at the computers that were already working tirelessly to train the machine learning model for recognising various handwritings.
'Hmm… the accuracy is already over ninety percent… by the end of the week it should settle to about just over ninety five percent.'
'Nice… then I'll be able to ask Danzo for the reward I desperately need to save everyone.'
