A few weeks had passed since the day the cursed spirit Jogo vanished before the sorcerers could place him inside a containment cell.
The operation the enemy group pulled off had caught the entire Jujutsu world off guard. The information that the cursed spirit could have provided might have led them straight to their enemies, but the enemy group seemed even sneakier than they expected.
Their communication network was amazing, and their hiding skills were turning out to be far better and more annoying than any of them would want to be.
This, coupled with the Jujutsu world being busy handling the aftermath of their last attack while making sure something like that doesn't repeat, kept the sorcerers, the assistants, and the windows very busy. Heck, even the higher-ups were working their asses off for once, mostly because some of them had died during the attack.
This also meant that the high-grade sorcerers were busier than usual, getting more and more missions, eliminating any potential high-level curses or scouting any location where the enemies might be hiding.
As a result, the high-level sorcerers were barely getting any rest....with the sole exception of Satoru Gojo.
Satoru Gojo, being the fastest and a contender for the strongest sorcerer of the era, was kept relatively less busy so that he could act in case of immediate emergencies. That, coupled with the monitoring of Yuji Itadori, Ryomen Sukuna's vessel, made Satoru Gojo not stray too far from his home base.
Many sorcerers were openly jealous of the Special Grade sorcerer, especially Naoya Zenin, who was currently on a mission to scout one of the borders of the country to check and see if the enemies were hiding there or not.
Despite all things being a mess, everyone's lives were still progressing.
Maki and Mai were finally awarded their Grade 1 status.
Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Panda were recommended for Grade 1 promotion.
Kasumi Miwa and Arata Nitta were recommended for Grade 2 promotion.
All in all, every student of the current batch from both the branches was treated as a genuinely strong sorcerer by the jujutsu society. Though some were still lingering around Grade 2, there was no doubt in everyone's mind that they would become a Grade 1 sorcerer sooner or later.
Special Grades might be the strongest in the Jujutsu world, but it was the Grade 1 sorcerers who kept the Jujutsu world functioning, and having a group of young sorcerers fulfilling that role made the future more secure for the rest of the world.
Despite this hopeful event, it wasn't like everything was going great.
Miyuki Fushiguro was declared to be in a vegetative state, despite having nothing wrong with her body.
Although the medical knowledge might not have found any reasons for that, the [Six Eyes] possessed by Satoru Gojo did tell Naoya and Miyuki's family about the curse that was placed on her.
Though, despite knowing that, they couldn't safely tamper with it.
The curse was located close to her brain, and it wasn't such a weak curse that they could deal with it by using a minute amount of power to exorcise it. Even the precision master Satoru Gojo told them that it would be far too risky to work on her.
Knowing this, the Fushiguro family was currently not normal by any means.
Toji had put all of his jobs on hold and was staying beside Miyuki, Megumi and Tomoko, all the time. He might not show it, but he was a bit scared of someone attacking them when he wasn't around and was now working as their bodyguard.
Megumi wasn't handling his mother's condition particularly well either. He was a bit depressed; the endless missions coming his way kept him distracted enough not to be like Toji.
Tomoko, not understanding exactly what happened to her mother, was faring better than the men of the house. Even though she didn't fully understand what was happening, she subconsciously knew that something was wrong. and kept mumbling things beside her.
'I won't cause pranks.' 'I will study well.' 'I will not dirty the house.' 'I will eat my veggies.'
If she thought something might help her mother wake up, she tried it.
And seeing her like that made Naoya, Toji and Megumi even angrier at the people responsible for Miyuki's condition.
This was the reason Naoya wasn't complaining much and was even taking a crap ton of scouting missions to get a sign of the bastards.
He might be appearing to be calm, but the entire squad who were currently appointed on this particular mission knew how much their boss was pissed.
Currently, Naoya was walking through the outskirts of the town that he was investigating.
His scouting shikigami were spread throughout the area, checking the surroundings and detaining anyone who seemed suspicious.
*Ring*
Suddenly, Naoya's phone started ringing.
Naoya looked at the screen; his father was calling him.
"Hello."
"Naoya, where are y- scratch that. How long will it take for you to reach Shibuya?"
"A few hours? Why?"
"...A major incident happened today-"
Naobito started explaining the situation to Naoya, and the more Naobito spoke, the more Naoya's eyes widened.
"So what are we supposed to do? The Jujutsu division has asked for assistance from the Zenin clan as well. As the captain of Hei, it's your call on who should be sent."
"Cityscape, and rescuing is needed.... Ogi-san, Chojuro-san, Haruto-san, Mako-san, and you."
"...5 Hei members?"
"Yes. I will be arriving there as fast as I can. Until then, I want you to hold the fort."
"It might be overkill, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Inform all the remaining squads at both Kyoto and Tokyo estates to be prepared for battle and protect the territory. We might never know if all this is just their diversion to attack other places, just like the last time."
Naobito turned serious at that.
True, the enemies this time were experts at using diversion tactics. This whole setup might just be like their last attack.
"You and Ogi san will focus on exorcising the curses. Haruto-san is to act as the one who rescues the citizens. Mako-san will be needed in case anyone needs healing and disrupting troublesome opponents. Chojuro-san's role is battlefield control. Let him reshape the terrain to our advantage."
{A/N: For those who forgot about the other Hei members, here are their details:
Haruto Zenin: Void Puppet
He can use his hair or the hair of his opponents and use his cursed technique to make puppets out of cursed energy. The puppets can mimic the abilities and techniques, including the cursed technique of the person the hair belongs to, although the puppets made out of other people's hair are toned-down versions of the original sorcerers. Haruto's own puppets are equal in strength and ability to his, but the puppets are not very durable and mostly vanish after a solid hit. Still, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the numbers.
Mako Zenin: Cursed Reversal Field
He can create a two-meter area around him where the properties of cursed energy are reversed. The negative cursed energy turns positive, reversed cursed energy and vice versa. Fighting him with a cursed technique is also difficult since the field around him disrupts the technique as well, since the cursed technique is not getting the appropriate cursed energy.
}
"Got it. I will have the message delivered." Naobito replied.
"Take care and don't die. Satoru will be there, but just be safe. Ok?"
"Heh, who do you think I am? I have a lot more bottles of alcohol to empty. Just pray that I am not too fast for them, that all of them are defeated before they even figure out what hit them."
Naobito replied with a jolly tone.
Naoya chuckled at his father's response and ended the call. His father was not weak by any means, and neither were the other Hei members.
"Good grief....whatever, let's get going as well....before that..."
The Tokyo Jujutsu High and the Kyoto Jujutsu High were already informed, and both institutions would be sending their students and teachers to Shibuya.
The Zenin Clan had also been called in to assist, thanks to their proximity to the area where all the shit is currently happening.
Satoru will also be present there. If nothing else, the white-haired, unfilial son would be able to handle things somehow.
"...But, I am not the kind of person to leave these matters in others' hands."
[Well of Unknown Abyss]
[Rainbow Dragon] + [Turbo Granny]
The two shikgami's CE merged, and a new dragon emerged out of the shadows.
"Tokyo. Max Speed."
At Naoya's orders, the dragon roared out loud and, in an instant, vanished.
He was still roughly two thousand kilometres away from Shibuya, though he was moving as fast as he could. Even at that speed, it would still take some time to arrive.
"Stay safe, everyone."
