Everyone else went about their own business.
Black Phoenix and Galan stared at the delicious food and life fruit on the table, drooling.
"Where's the life fruit Richard just gave you? Share half with me to satisfy my craving."
Galan set her sights on Black Phoenix's stash.
"No, that's mine."
Black Phoenix refused directly.
"Hand it over. I shared half with you last time, and I'll give you some next time if I have it," Galan said.
"Alright then, I only have one left."
Black Phoenix took out two life fruits, and they each gnawed on half.
Luke and Jean were reorganizing the dining table and fruits, though only a small portion were life fruits; the more of this stuff you eat, the weaker its effect becomes.
Everyone in the family had eaten two already.
Only Richard, doting on Black Phoenix and Galan, would occasionally feed them one.
Lorna and Wanda, the two girls, gathered together to do their homework; one was writing by hand, the other on a computer.
Their teachers had assigned them homework.
Lorna had neglected her studies recently and received a C from Tony.
Wanda was purely unlucky; because Richard himself had just been given a new assignment, he dragged his apprentice along to do it together.
The two looked at each other, feeling a sense of mutual understanding.
"Ah!"
A scream rang out.
Everyone looked up to see Harley, with no surprise at all.
"You take this back! Who told you to give this as a gift?"
Gwen's face was full of black lines as she shoved the gift box containing a large eyeball back to Harley.
If she hadn't suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of danger from the gift box, she wouldn't have discovered what was inside.
If her mother saw it, she would probably faint on the spot.
"Why? This is my most prized collection! Don't you think it's beautiful?" Harley asked.
"No, I don't. This will only scare my mother unconscious."
"Alright, Little Spider, you're such a coward. How about this one instead?"
"Isn't this the same as before?! Don't take it out!"
"The color's different..."
Maria looked at Venom, somewhat hesitant.
"What's wrong, Mrs. Maria?" Venom asked softly, a gentle smile on her face.
For her sister's family, she was willing to show a little patience.
"I feel your demeanor is very similar to someone. Do you happen to know someone named Boa Hancock?"
Venom's smile stiffened for a moment but quickly returned to normal.
"I don't know her. Can you tell me about her?"
Maria nodded and began to speak slowly.
"Boa Hancock is actually Richard's adoptive mother. His husband is named Dio Brando, and he's an elegant gentleman..."
Venom listened intently.
Pamela, listening nearby, found her expression growing increasingly strange. She hadn't heard of Dio, but she had seen Boa Hancock quite a lot.
At the dining table.
The lights were dim. The table was laden with all sorts of delicious food and cakes.
"Little Spider, ah!"
Harley giggled as she forked a piece of cake and brought it to Gwen's mouth.
"I can eat it myself," Gwen said helplessly, but still took a bite.
Black Phoenix and Galan ate with oil dripping from their mouths.
Jean and Pamela watched them from the side, making sure they didn't eat the tableware, as both had done so before.
Wanda and Lorna sat together, perhaps due to doing homework, their relationship was good.
