Precipice Blades!
Mega Tyranitar had learned something. Since the opponent was distracted, it wasn't a good idea to simply interrupt it casually; it was better to properly "attend" to it with the move Precipice Blades.
After all, it was Groudon's exclusive move, created precisely to deal with those enemies it could not reach because they could fly.
Rumble—!
A crimson stone pillar resembling an obelisk violently shot toward the sky. The distance between Moltres and the ground vanished in an instant.
Tyranitar could release multiple Precipice Blades attacks simultaneously, but doing so dispersed the energy and greatly reduced its power. Sometimes opponents would dodge, and only through multiple attacks could they be struck afterward.
But now Moltres was standing still, practically waiting to be hit — this was the first time something like this had happened.
Therefore, all the energy was concentrated into a single strike...
One enormous strike!
Bam—boom!!
This time, Precipice Blades struck almost perfectly. The effect was easy to imagine. Completely caught off guard, Moltres was blasted straight into the sky. Only this time, it was not because it flapped its wings to ascend, but because the explosion from Precipice Blades launched it upward.
Only after suffering that violent attack did Moltres react, but by then it was already too late.
Because as it was being thrown into the air, two other Pokémon were still accompanying it.
Darkrai and Mega Gengar, both equally dark in color, attacked in perfect coordination. Their hands spun like windmills, hurling one dark sphere after another, each the size of a human head, toward Moltres.
Maintaining the same rising speed as Moltres, solely to ensure that every dark sphere struck its target.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
One after another, without pause.
"Krashiar!"
Moltres' miserable cry of pain spread throughout the interior of Mt. Silver. The Pokémon who heard that shriek knew very well that it belonged to the king of Mt. Silver, Moltres, yet the misery contained within it could be felt by anyone who heard it.
Fwoosh!
Unable to find an immediate solution, flames began burning from Moltres' tail, and golden-red fire completely enveloped its body. Only then did it manage to block the attacks of the dark spheres and finally gain the chance to flap its wings to stop being launched like an uncontrolled projectile.
It spun three hundred and sixty degrees in the air, and with that spin, the flames surrounding it became even more intense.
Darkrai and Mega Gengar had no choice but to retreat to ensure their own safety.
They quickly returned to Mega Tyranitar's side and observed Moltres from afar, whose appearance had now become utterly miserable.
The feathers on its body, originally bright and lustrous, as if they were both flames and feathers at the same time, were now completely wilted. Even the feathers on its head appeared somewhat dull.
The feathers in the two areas it valued most had become like this, making the once majestic Moltres appear ridiculous, like a plucked bird.
The physical pain, the change in its appearance, and the blow to its pride caused Moltres' eyes to instantly turn red.
Cain adopted a serious expression.
"This plucked bird is about to go mad. Everyone, be careful and stay safe."
The three Pokémon nodded with solemn expressions upon hearing Cain's words. That sequence of attacks earlier had not managed to directly kill Moltres; instead, it had forced it to truly react.
And now that it had gone berserk, it would not be easy to deal with.
"Krashiar!"
Moltres opened its beak and spat out a massive mass of flames. Then it flapped its wings and unleashed a violent gale.
Fire borrowed the strength of the wind, and the wind further intensified the fire!
Under the combination of both, what appeared before Mega Tyranitar and the other two Pokémon was a gigantic wall of fire that swept forward, destroying everything in its path.
The three Pokémon hardened their expressions. Only an attack like this could truly be considered worthy of a Legendary Pokémon!
Mega Tyranitar raised its right leg and stomped heavily onto the ground. The earth around it shattered outward from its position as the center, leaving the most intact portion as a large chunk of terrain directly in front of him. Under his strength, that enormous piece of land rose up directly before him.
Bang—bang!
Mega Tyranitar spread its arms and grasped that lifted mass of earth. Pale yellow and dark yellow energy coursed through its body and flowed into its arms, injecting itself into the mass of land.
The crushed rocks and pulverized soil from the surroundings seemed to transform into living serpents, rushing at maximum speed toward the piece of earth that Mega Tyranitar held before him.
In the blink of an eye, Mega Tyranitar turned that mass of land into a gigantic fortress standing tall, enclosing himself together with Darkrai and Gengar inside, protecting all of them.
Immediately afterward, the moment that fortress of rock and earth finished forming, Moltres' combination of Flamethrower and Hurricane arrived as expected.
Tss—tss—
With both hands pushing against the fortress, Mega Tyranitar planted his feet firmly into the ground and concentrated all the power of his body. Even so, his feet were still pushed backward by that ferocious attack, leaving two deep marks across the cracked terrain.
And on the other side of the fortress — the side enduring the fiery assault — the entire surface turned completely black. A pungent burnt odor spread through the surroundings, and under that combined technique, the fortress itself began to gradually fade, directly evaporated by the flames' extreme temperature into gas.
If Mega Tyranitar had not continuously reinforced the fortress without pause, it likely would have been reduced to ashes the instant the attack made contact.
Only now did Moltres, with the dignity of a Legendary Pokémon, finally display the strength it was meant to possess.
"TYYRRAANNN!!!"
As he was pushed back again and again, Mega Tyranitar roared in fury. All the veins across his body bulged outward, merging with the dark crimson patterns that once again lit up across his skin, making him appear even more mysterious in that moment.
