The first thing I heard was Minho shouting my name.
"Eunji!"
His voice cut through the suffocating silence hanging over the lounge.
I didn't turn immediately.
My gaze remained fixed on Byeon-Ih.
The man was kneeling on the floor now.
Not because I had forced him to.
His body simply couldn't remain standing anymore.
The shadows surrounding him continued to writhe across the cracked floor. They crawled over broken tables, climbed overturned chairs, and stretched along the walls like hungry creatures waiting for permission to feed.
I could feel every ounce of fear pouring out of him.
If Abyssian were here, he'd be laughing.
Probably demanding I drag things out longer.
