Chapter 9 - 9 My Mom.

Ever since, they left Chrome City...

After meeting that boy, her and her Mother left the city entirely.

That was the plan after all.

Was she going to miss the city? No, she had nothing fond about it in her head. Though the few years she had been with her Mom was actually quite nice, specifically how Mom spoiled her.

It's been 7 years since she knew her... Her new mom.

After all she wasn't actually her Mother...

She always bought these beauty products they shared, combs and clothes. They were bright, sometimes shiny even, what was that colour again... Yeah! It was silver, or was it a metal?

She shrugged mentally, who cares I'll learn it later.

I've been learning a lot more things than I could of back at the orphanage. After Mom adopted me she taught me how to understand her, than read, than speak...

Well!, that is all in the past now, she could speak like other people, but there was some strange things about her Mom, she never let her try to learn math. 'I know addition, subtraction and times, wait that isn't what it was called it's called, Multiplication.'

She taught me how to clean the apartment, fold clothes, and manage money.

She even taught me how to talk differently, what did she say it was called?"

Positively? intensely? enticingly?, no, no no, wait i think i know now.

It was seductively...

She said that's one part of the way she survived in the city, but she also went on to say that with me...

She won't be the one working anymore.

She understand stood that! After all children do normally take care of their parents, sometimes even get the same jobs as them...

She taught me about the body specifically about boys.

Which felt strange to constantly focus on and stare at all day. She had to understand 'reactions' she called them. Telling me about past errands, she described in detail that always cause her face to go red , she knew the reason why she reacted like this was because she was embarrassed.

Which Mom said it was not something to be embarrassed about, since after all it's natural just like everything else she told me about.

She taught me what men liked.

And hated...

She said never...

speak back

fight back

...and most importantly never run.

I asked why and her reply, "It would be rude after all." She said," Since they would of paided for you, quite well after all."

I was confused, where did money get into this?

But she didn't ask for an explanation she just listened after all.

She always listened to her Mom...

Except the boy situation, after all he did remind her of those heroes in books, with that blue hair that looked like it was glowing.

But, right now she listened.

That's what she did when, her Mom and her were at the city gates.

From what Mom told me, it's a gate that verifies why you are going and coming in, and then I asked Mom how are we going to be verified, she said we aren't.

"Wait, can't we just tell them and then go?" I asked.

"No it takes days on days, possibly weeks on weeks." Mom said, as a twisted grin and a pink hue appeared on her brown skinned face, that had pronounced cheeks and a white shaped flower mark on her left eye, a mis colouration in her skin, with wavy black hair that she kept in a bun.

As her sharp half lidded eyes and pronounced yellow brown irises looked around, "Including that it would be too boring." She whined, in this longing tone, the girl hated to hear from her Mom, why? It just left a sort of chill or warning.

She kept looking at her Mom who was in a daze as she looked around till her eyes narrowed predatory like.

This was why she was surprised when Mom got scared, when first meeting the boy with blue hair, this was how she normally spoke, acted and...

Soon i learned, they are other things she normally did.

I directed my gaze to the direction she was staring at.

A man, with a rugged strong build, strong arms with metallic hands, which her mother was specifically looking at, he had this neon logo trucker hat, and a sleeveless black jacket, with leather layered shoulder pads that were black and blue tinted with a white long sleeve shirt underneath.

She looked left and right at the long lines of cars going in and out of the two City gates.

She started to move between the cars, and me behind her, eventually we got behind the man's pickup truck, it was lean four seated with a long cargo area.

Mom walked to the side the man was but before she could get to the driver's window, she let her hood down, and pulled at her coat from the front, making the fabric press at her back, and telling me to stay out of site.

She then walked forward passing by the driver's window, as Mom's features caught the man's gaze.

Her steps were long as she put one leg in front of the other, then she stopped.

She looked over her shoulder with a grin, as if catching someone in an act.

The man turn off the window shield as it slowly disappeared square by see through square, the man lowered his hat as a sly smile was evident.

"Sorry, ma'am didn't mean to stare, just enjoying the view is all." He said.

"I see that quite clearly." Mom said back, as she shifted how she stood, as the coat pressed against her body, which pronounced her filled shape, after all the coat wasn't thick.

The man saw this and grinned, understanding that she wants something, but obviously she's offering something back, fair enough, he wouldn't say no to such an offer on a bad day.

"What's your name."

"Mily."

The man raised his cap as Mily approached, his brow rising too in mock surprise, "What a plain name for someone with..." The man paused as he got a closer look at Mily.

"Unique features." He ended.

She finally arrived at the opening of the door, as she crossed her arms at the rims of the window, leaned forward as she spoke to him.

"Well names are given when we are babes, so how could my parents have known." She said that with faned offense, clearly with her smile evident on her face.

"When did they figure out the name ain't a match?"

"Early in my teens, but i don't think they gave me the wrong name, it fits me quite~ well actually." She said, "After all it's Belarusian for Loveable though it can mean cute at the same time."

The man raised a brow, about to ask a question but paused, when a car ahead of him moved forward. "It's best we continue this in the car, don't you think after all it's best to discuss... privately." He said a large grin appearing.

Mily grinned as if hearing the best news, though it wasn't to exaggerated. Then her face shifted to a conflicted one, as she bit her lip, to at her adopted daughter then back at the man.

"I... I got a kid with me, sorry, though we do need a ride." She said with a apologetic expression.

The man kissed his teeth, as Mily flinched.

"Please like I'll be played, find some other fool." The man said, as he directed his eyes forward, though that seemed to change a gentle touch of warmth cupped his chin turning him towards a pleasing scene.

The cloak wasn't held by her hand anymore, causing the front to part, as she leaned forward and used a finger to tug at her thin white tank top, showing her large bra less cleavage.

As she faned embarrassment to look right at her adopted daughter with a pink hue, surely not from embarrassment, the daughter knew what it was, it's her Mom's twisted enjoyment of this.

To make her bare with the closeness of these situations, she never left home, barely in truth and she could fill a page with large circles of how many times she got to leave home and every, every single one she had to be the bystander to this, but she never knew the result only guessed it, and knowing she's probably right.

Her mother probably has done this with different people in days she wasn't there, she didn't want to be around, yet her Mom said it would be dangerous for her to go around by her self, and that it's strange that she wanted to leave...

After all, it's just a normal thing people did she said.

"Sir, be reasonable, a fool is never paid but you sure will." She said with a lazy innocents that turned twisted with her current actions.

The man dazed, for a bit asked simply, "Your Kid?"

Mily slowly, lazily turned her head locking eyes with the man, "She'll, behave." She said as she brought her daughter forward Infront of the man, her head down and completely covered with her coat from ankle to head

"Get in."

Those are the words that got him killed.
