Jugo repeated the ritual, this time with himself in the center.
In the room besides him, there was only a werewolf. He didn't know what was going to happen, it was better to be alone in this situation, but the werewolf had its own purpose.
Jugo's biggest problem at the moment was that whether it was his physical body or his soul, they were already one and the same, unlike other living beings.
He didn't know if this would interfere with the ritual, but he had studied this jutsu for a long time and was confident enough that he wouldn't die.
At least he had left a Curse of Giving spell ready, which is why the werewolf was the only one present in the room. He hoped that if something went wrong, he could activate the spell and send the consequences to the werewolf, avoiding any serious consequences.
Sighing, he began soon after.
The seals were activated, chakra coursing through them, and Jugo felt a tug on both sides, as if his body were being pulled by horses in two directions at once.
It was incredibly uncomfortable, his body began to break apart, not only his body, but also his soul, connected to each half, was being separated in two.
At that point, he felt that even his Beyonder characteristics were being divided, so he acted quickly, focusing his attention on pushing the characteristics to only one of the halves.
It was simpler than expected, while his body and soul seemed to be on autopilot, his characteristics were the only aspect he could truly control during the split.
The process wasn't long, in fact it was short, it just seemed to take much longer for Jugo because of his nervousness.
But as soon as it was all over, two Jugos were in the center of the seals.
Jugo that had received the Chained Pathway looked at its other half, its eyes seemed to gaze directly into the soul of the other half.
Only half, but the soul on the other side was no longer bound to the body, instead, it had become normal. Even so, its other half was not completely normal. After having been an Angel, Jugo's body still retained part of that power, just as a demigod's corpse still retains part of its spirituality.
If this were in the world of LOTM, this Jugo who lost his characteristics would only be slightly better than a mortal, but in this world there was chakra.
Even though the divided Jugo did not possess the Tenseigan, perhaps due to Jugo's genes, the snake sage mode was retained, and even Jugo's eyes displayed a pair of Byakugans. Changes like the wood style were still there, but his abilities related to rot and ice had been lost.
The chakra also decreased considerably.
He still had a lot of chakra, compared to a Senju, but much less than before.
Overall, the strength of this other Jugo was not inferior to that of a Kage.
Chained Jugo wasn't feeling very well either, although his potion hadn't been split, his soul and body had been, and his chakra and strength had decreased, not to the point of representing major changes, but it was still a clear reduction.
-How are you?- Chained Jugo asked calmly.
The other Jugo raised his hands and gently clenched his fists, looking thoughtful. -The knowledge remains, but the feeling isn't good, it's as if I've lost most of my power.
Chained Jugo shrugged, this was predictable.
-And what about the connection to the Tenebrous World?- Chained Jugo asked.
-It's there too, but incredibly weak, just like when we arrived in this world.- The other Jugo nodded.
Chained Jugo agreed, it was strange talking to himself like this, but Jugo wasn't ready to stop now. He needed to find out if all of this had just been a waste of time.
The next moment, the other Jugo closed his eyes as the Chained Jugo entered the Tenebrous World.
There, Chained Jugo saw a projection of the other Jugo appear, only the consciousness, then the Tenebrous World began to tremble slightly, Chained Jugo felt something, as if the Tenebrous World itself sensed what he wanted.
The same goat's head with lava flowing from it appeared before them, the one he saw as soon as he first arrived in the Tenebrous World, but this time the chained hand that represented the Chained Pathway did not appear.
Both Jugos sighed with relief, encouraged, but the other Jugo did not touch the goat's head directly, instead, he looked at the Chained Jugo.
The Chained Jugo needed no explanation, he removed the Curse of Giving amulet, handed it to the other Jugo, who took it and used it directly on the Chained Jugo. He felt he could easily resist it, but he didn't, instead, he accepted it completely.
The other Jugo had used the amulet to bestow the future negative effects based on the Abyss potion, due to the broad effect, the amulet's power wouldn't last long, only a few hours, but that would be enough. After doing this, the other Jugo touched the goat's head.
The moment it touched him, the chained Jugo felt the change within him, something wanting to influence him, to lead him to unleash his greatest desires, to let himself go completely, but it was weak, incredibly weak, the power only hit against his Bind and couldn't get through.
Chained Jugo didn't even blink, ignoring the change.
The other Jugo, on the other hand, only felt the enhancement caused by the potion.
The other Jugo could be considered a half-prisoner, no, perhaps even less than that, lacking any distinctive features, but his body still showed a direct connection to the Chained Pathway.
The other Jugo sensed that if he tried to assimilate another Pathway, he might fail, even end up dying, but since the Criminal Pathway is parallel to the Prisoner Pathway, he felt no divergence, on the contrary, he felt as if his body had assimilated this power with ease.
Nodding to himself, he felt a little of his strength returning, it was very little, but it was still there.
He didn't stop, but connected to the Tenebrous World, which was now much more "obedient", and directly pulled the characteristic of the following sequence, Unwinged Angel (Coldblooded). The other Jugo didn't feel anything when he absorbed this sequence, but the Chained Jugo did.
This time it was a little stronger compared to the first time, which was much stronger, but for an Angel, it was just the difference between being attacked by a small ant and a large one.
Annoying, but laughable.
