Chapter 321 - Chapter 320: Attack of Wonder Woman

Seeing the superhero standing before them, the robbers immediately shouted and fled frantically.

After all, Shazam's name was well-known in this city.

Knowing that he liked to meddle and would inflict brutal acts on criminals, these robbers immediately ran away upon seeing him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Shazam casually moved his body and dealt with this group of criminals.

"It seems my pre-fight trash talk wasn't quite harsh enough."

Looking at the groaning robbers lying on the ground, Shazam proudly blew on his fist.

He walked over to the fallen thugs, picked up the bag they had robbed, then approached the stunned family of three—a father, mother, and son—and handed them the handbag.

"Your bag."

"Thank you! Thank you!"

The family quickly thanked Shazam.

Looking at their faces and accents, Shazam asked in surprise, "Aren't you locals?"

"No, no, we are refugees from Latvia."

The man replied to Shazam.

"Latvia?"

Shazam nodded, pondered for a moment, and then asked, "May I ask you a question?"

"Of course."

The man nodded.

So Shazam asked the same question he had asked before.

"I feel like nowhere is safe now."

The man, holding his son, replied to Shazam, "We are surrounded by angry and powerful gods, and the gods even want to plan our future. This feeling isn't very good."

Shazam was silent for a moment, then nodded, "I understand your thoughts."

"But you are one of them, aren't you? You fly in the sky; it's hard for you to understand our thoughts."

The man seemed not to believe Shazam would understand his thoughts.

Shazam didn't argue further but lowered his head, many thoughts flashing through his mind instantly.

I understand them, and I'm the only one who can understand them!

He told himself in his heart, because most of the time, I will also be one of them. That's why I go around asking; I want to know what other people think.

"Thank you!"

After thanking them, Shazam left the park and walked away from the street under the gaze of the family of three.

In a hidden, unmanned corner, he used magic to dispel his adult superhero form, transforming back into a child.

"Maybe Homelander really can bring peace to this country."

He mumbled, a look of adolescent confusion on his face, "That really sounds like the wisdom of Solomon, but I don't have it now, nor do I understand it; I'm only twelve."

Kicking a small stone at his feet, Billy looked up at the sun overhead.

"Maybe this approach is right, maybe these approaches are wrong. It's a bit complicated, and I don't think it's something someone my age can figure out. Maybe I should go to Metropolis and see; only by experiencing it firsthand will I see more of the truth."

Billy decided to stay in Metropolis for a few days, preferably to have a good conversation with Homelander.

After all, the other party was also his idol; going to another city to pursue an idol wasn't such a big deal, was it?

Billy told himself in his heart.

In Metropolis, Eric was talking with Wonder Woman.

Previously, Wonder Woman had stayed in California for a while to deal with the remnants of the old military government.

After everything was resolved, the two finally had time to meet in Metropolis.

"You look a bit tired, Diana!"

Eric said, looking at Wonder Woman, who was travel-worn and had a hint of fatigue on her face.

"I went to Hephaestus's domain."

Wonder Woman told Eric, "The Death of Ares caused some commotion on Olympus."

"So Zeus is going to come out and stop me?"

Eric asked her with a frown.

"No! Zeus is nowhere to be found right now. Many people are looking for him, but there's been no news from him. His wife and children are vying for his power, busy fighting over territory. They probably won't focus on human affairs for a while."

Diana took off her Tiara of Athena, letting her hair fall loose.

"I'm just mentally exhausted."

"Mentally exhausted?!"

"Yes."

Diana looked into Eric's eyes and said, "I want to kill Hephaestus! If I kill him, I can stop him from bothering you about Ares."

"Bother me? Isn't their conflict greater?"

Eric asked her in confusion.

Hephaestus's wife was Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, but due to Hephaestus's indescribable appearance, their marital life was not very fulfilling.

Later, Aphrodite even got together with Ares when Hephaestus was away.

Logically, Ares had cuckolded Hephaestus, so he should hate Ares. Why did he turn against himself instead?!

Could it be that this guy had a special fetish?

Eric fell into contemplation.

"There is conflict among them, but that's an internal matter, whereas you, Eric, are an external matter. Moreover, Hera seems to have learned of your killing of the God of War, so she ordered the gods of Olympus to list you as a target for crusade. So, in a sense, it's not wrong that Hephaestus is your enemy."

Diana sighed, saying, "I tied him up, took all his weapons, and wanted to use a dagger to stab him in the heart, but at the crucial moment, I was stopped!"

"Who stopped you?"

"The slaves!"

Diana told Eric, "The slaves working for Hephaestus in the volcano pleaded with me! I thought he was very unfriendly to those slaves, and no one would help him, but everyone knelt down and begged me, saying they would rather die in his place. Eric, do you know why?"

"Hmm."

Eric nodded, "These slaves are your brothers, aren't they?"

"You... how did you know?"

Diana's eyes widened, asking in disbelief.

"What I know, sometimes, Diana, is far more than you imagine."

Eric told her.

"Well, you're always full of mystery, and that's one reason I'm attracted to you."

Wonder Woman didn't press further but turned her gaze to the darkening sky outside the window.

"Sometimes the truth is just that cruel. It turns out that behind all falsehoods lies a buried truth. The Amazon women on Themyscira are not born naturally. If male infants are born to Amazon women and sailors, they are thrown into the sea to drown. It was Hephaestus who exchanged his equipment for those male infants who were about to drown, taking them back to raise."

"Those slaves, like my Amazon sisters, are all my brothers."

Diana sounded a bit sad as she said this, "I never thought that we could be so barbaric."

Eric looked at the sad Diana and said nothing, just quietly stayed with her.

"Eric, you will build a better world than this, right? Without all this buried pain and deception."

Diana walked to Eric's side and looked directly into her eyes.

"I will. If this world falls into someone's control, and he is not a professional politician but someone who overturns everything, then it means everything is not bad."

Diana's eyes flickered, and her long, slender, toned legs had, at some point, wrapped around Eric's waist.

"Then, I will always be with you, crushing all beings that stand in our way, whether they are superheroes or the gods of Olympus, we will crush them all!"

Diana's breathing was a bit rapid, and her eyes became hazy.

"Now, I really want to confirm one thing."

"What?"

"Will our child truly be cursed by Ares and live with that curse, or will they possess a destiny that even the God of War cannot overcome! I am very curious now."

Diana hugged Eric's waist even tighter.

"Are you sure?"

Eric asked, looking at the flushed Wonder Woman, "I'm not the marrying type."

"Me neither, I just feel..."

Diana's aggressive gaze fixed on Eric, and she leaned in, her lips close, "Our relationship should take the next step at this moment!"

Eric narrowed his eyes and pondered for a moment.

If he didn't make some counterattack at this point, he might be looked down upon by her.

Then he lowered his body, kissed her lips, and felt her fiery passion.

Two hundred words omitted here.

The sky in the distance turned fish-belly white, and a faint morning light pierced through the clouds, dispelling the gloom of the night.

Eric stood near the window, watching the morning scene outside.

The sound of water from the shower came from the bathroom, and Wonder Woman, who had fought for most of the night, stepped onto the floor wrapped in a white bath towel, not caring that some parts of her identity were exposed.

"I have to say."

Diana's voice came from the bathroom, "Eric, you surprised me a bit!"

"What?"

"I always thought you were a very cold person, even in matters like this, but last night you exceeded my expectations."

Wonder Woman's voice was filled with a hint of triumph.

"I'm still the one who gets the last laugh, Eric, you have to admit that!"

"You'd better rein in your triumphant remarks, Diana."

Eric turned around and looked at Wonder Woman in the bathroom, saying with a serious expression, "Generally speaking, for the first car purchased, the driver will carefully drive it around a couple of times, then put it down, continue to maintain it for two days, and then try it out again. This is more out of a special psychological reason."

Wonder Woman: "..."

She wanted to pick up her sword and chop Eric now!

Wuwu, the previous chapter was swallowed!

I clearly didn't write anything, it's so unfair!
