Chapter 15 - The Boy and The Princess [4]—Do You Want to Do It?

[2 hours later]

Keith was zonked out on his bed, his sheets kicked to the floor—again. It was an unbreakable habit for him to kick his bedsheets whenever he was feeling hot, and tonight the atmosphere was much warmer than usual.

Outside his door, a figure stood, breathing in and out. They entered his room, opening and closing the door gently. The figure tiptoed toward his bed, climbed onto it, and mounted the slumbering Keith, who was completely passed out at that moment.

The figure moved his shirt up, brushing their hand against his abs and masculine chest. They rubbed his upper body, feeling how toned and chiseled it was. Then, Keith woke up, catching sight of the person on top of him wearing red and black adult undergarments.

Keith was a little dazed; his mind hadn't completely registered the situation yet. It was still pending. Then, he finally gained full consciousness.

"S-S-Sophia?! What are you doing?! Why are you on top of me?! And why are you naked?!!"

She placed a flushed finger on his mouth. "I'm not naked, you idiot. I'm still wearing underwear."

She moved her finger away, and he spoke. "Okay, but what are you doing on top of me?"

Sophia leaned closer to him, their faces now inches apart. "Do you really want to stay a virgin forever?"

"What?"

"Or do you want to do it with me? I'm all yours tonight."

Keith's heart throbbed frantically. It beat so loudly that she could actually hear it. Recognizing this, she smiled. Her smile decorated her pink face in the darkness of the room, which was illuminated only by the moon.

Sophia closed in on his lips, moving closer and closer with each passing second. Their lips were now inches apart—then, Akira's smiling face appeared in Keith's mind.

"W-We can't."

Sophia stopped and looked at him. Embarrassment took over her face, but the determination to make him hers kept her from running away.

He sat up. "You can only do this type of stuff with someone you like. You can't just do it with anyone."

"But I'm not doing it with just anyone. I'm doing it with you."

"You… You don't understand. A person can only do this type—"

Sophia cut him off, yelling, "I know that!"

"Then why do you… want to do it with me?"

"Dense dummy, moron, idiot, ignoramus! Do you seriously want me to spit it out?"

"Spit out what? I don't get it."

Sophia hesitated. Her heart beat faster than it ever had in her life, her palms grew sweaty, and her breaths became slow and measured.

"Kei, I…" She paused and looked him straight in the eyes, her own shimmering with emotion. "I love you."

She finally said it. After so many years of bottling it up, she finally uttered those three simple words. Her feelings were now known by the person she was, and always had been, in love with. Keith froze. His heart throbbed slower now, and his eyes widened as her words set in.

His eyebrows rose to the clouds, his breathing became slow and steady, and his mouth hung agape. Then, the pure irony of the situation finally dawned on him.

To think that she was his first love, but because of circumstances, he hadn't been able to tell her how he felt. He had forgotten all about his feelings for her, but now that he had finally moved on, she had come back into his life to confess the very thing he couldn't say in the past.

"I love you, Kei. I love you so much. I love you more than words can explain. I've been in love with you since we were kids. So, KEI, will you be my one and only?"

Keith's surprised expression remained as he processed every word. Now that he had finally moved on and found someone new, his first love had returned to complicate things for him.

He didn't know what to do, what to say, or how to react. Was he supposed to feel glad, happy, sad, or excited? He didn't know, nor did the universe.

Although it was entirely possible that it did know; this was the vast universe in question, after all. His features softened into a somewhat sad look, his eyes lowering along with his eyebrows.

"I… I'm sorry, Sophia."

"You're sorry? For what?"

"I can't be with you… I'm sorry… I really am. At this point, I can only see you as a close friend and an older sister. So I'm sorry. My heart is already full."

"W-h-a-t? What do you mean your heart is full? Is there someone else you like?"

"... Yes."

The silence that followed was oppressive, as the tense atmosphere gave way to awkwardness and hushed pain. Sophia faced the sting of rejection, while Keith faced the pain of hurting someone he cared deeply about. Her expression fell, her disappointed face drowning Keith in guilt.

Sophia forced her normal behavior to resurface, wrapping herself back up in her usual mischievous aura. "Okay, I see. Well, whatever. I guess you'll continue being virgin-kun for a little while longer then, you big weenie," she teased as she got off him and stepped away from the bed. "You'd better not look at this girl with perverted eyes, you mega-perv."

"Hey now, chill with the insults, please."

"Hehehe, you are such a weenie. Goodnight, virgin-kun. I'll see you tomorrow, hehehe…" Sophia ventured. Her grin was wide, yet her eyes seemed glassy.

"Jeez, will you please stop calling me virgin-kun?"

"You are still a virgin, so I'll keep calling you that until you've said goodbye to your—ahem."

She giggled as she walked across the hall, leaving Keith's door to close with a soft click. Keith clenched his teeth, muttering, "Dammit…"

On the other side of the apartment, Sophia entered her room and leaned against the door, sliding down to the ground. She pulled her legs up to her chest, her eyes shimmering.

The corners of her eyes became puffy and slightly red, her pained voice letting out small sniffling sounds as tears streamed down her face, tracking paths down her gorgeous features.

Quiet sobs replaced the silence of the room in the warm, yet now slightly chilly night. The moon illuminated her room, painting her in a spotlight as she continued sobbing right there on the cold floor.
