The excavation of the transferred rock-mud mountain is progressing quite smoothly, with the soil layer and rubble atop it being systematically stripped away to gradually reveal the objects buried beneath.
Besides the usual enormous exotic beast skeletons found in the Giant Beast Bone Field, many items cleared away show obvious traces of being man-made. The most common among them are a type of curved metal base, typically cast from some corrosion-resistant dark alloy, with neatly arranged nail holes along the edges.
Attached to the bases are often large, thick but shattered transparent material fragments, resembling glass but with a more crystalline and sturdy texture.
On the surfaces of these bases and "glass" fragments, some finely etched runes can still be distinguished; they are reinforcement-type magic runes that have long lost their functionality.
What is this?
