Jared Quinn lifted his foot, about to walk over to Timmy, when Melody Thorne immediately grabbed his sleeve. Her clear eyes were misty, like there was a little pearl of water rolling around inside, making anyone who saw it go soft.
She was clearly saying: you're not allowed to go. If you do, I'll cry and show you.
"If you keep doing this, you're going to spoil him."
Melody Thorne stuck out her tongue. This whole thing had been her idea.
"I promise there won't be a next time. I'll definitely educate him properly."
Under the assault of her gaze, Jared Quinn decided to let that brat off the hook.
But Melody Thorne wasn't so lucky. She had to sit by Jared Quinn's side the whole time, helping him flip through documents.
The phone rang a few times. It was Nina King calling.
"Melody, I'm at the café downstairs from Quinn Corporation. Come down for a bit, there's something I want to discuss with you."
