Chapter 504 - Chapter 504: Aura Against the Demon God

"Rooar!"

In an instant, the moves of six Legendary Pokémon blasted out together.

Among them, Mewtwo, Kyurem, Reshiram, Groudon, and Kyogre were all opening a path for Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent.

But Zygarde was not fighting alone.

Yveltal and Xerneas stepped forward at the same time, releasing Oblivion Wing and Moonblast, trying to cancel out most of those moves.

"Yvel!"

Yveltal spread its wings and rose. Its wings radiated the aura of death, while countless currents of Flying-type energy wrapped in airflow poured into them, filled with chilling killing intent.

Whoosh!

Oblivion Wing was suddenly released. A semi-transparent shock wave of energy directly snapped Precipice Blades apart, then intercepted Origin Pulse and barely held it back.

As for Xerneas's Moonblast, both the quality and quantity of what it released were far more Tauros-like than that of a normal Fairy-type Pokémon.

Several massive energy moons appeared, hazy with pink light. With the boost from its Ability, Fairy Aura, their power was terrifying.

Boom!

Mewtwo's Psystrike was shattered on the spot. The remaining Moonblasts then suddenly rushed toward the Legendary Pokémon using Blue Flare, Freezing Flare, and Dragon Ascent.

Reshiram's Blue Flare was the first to fail.

Then came Kyurem's Freezing Flare.

Seeing that the Moonblasts released by Xerneas actually had this much power, Grey could not help clicking his tongue. He looked toward Ash and asked, "How many times did Xerneas use Geomancy just now?"

Geomancy was Xerneas's signature move.

Its effect was to raise its own stats.

It was absurdly powerful.

"Twice, I think."

Ash had been running away and buying time earlier, so he had not been able to remember exactly how many times Xerneas had used Geomancy.

At the very least, there had been one.

Grey's expression changed.

It really had used Geomancy?!

Thinking of that, Grey immediately felt that the greatest threat on the field was Xerneas.

It felt even more oppressive than Zygarde, who was about to release Nihil Light.

After all, Zygarde's Nihil Light might only be usable once in a short period of time.

But Xerneas was different.

It had already used Geomancy before Grey arrived.

Those stat boosts were completely real.

From the way it directly shattered Groudon's Precipice Blades, one could see just how terrifying Xerneas currently was.

If they wanted to fight it, they would also have to use status moves and stack buffs.

But for now, they had to deal with Zygarde first!

Otherwise, if one Nihil Light came down, most of the Legendaries on Grey's side would definitely be finished.

Thinking of that, Grey looked toward Lugia and had this relatively idle Legendary use Aeroblast.

"Lugia, it's your turn!"

"Understood!"

As Lugia, the god of the sea who possessed faith, faced this situation, it absolutely stood on humanity's side.

"Rooar!"

Lugia let out a sharp cry. Within a radius of a hundred miles, violent winds began to howl.

It was as if all the air had been sucked away, leaving not a single sound able to escape.

In contrast, in front of Lugia, a silver-white point of light drew everyone's attention.

Immediately after…

Boom!

A shrieking Aeroblast beam erupted forth, even faster than Rayquaza using Dragon Ascent. It directly bombarded Zygarde, making its green-glowing body sway slightly.

Nihil Light, which had still been in its windup, dimmed somewhat.

It had clearly been heavily affected by Aeroblast.

However, Grey preferred to call that move Air Explosion.

There was no special reason. It simply sounded cooler.

"Zygarde…"

Zygarde panted repeatedly. After Mega Evolving, its defenses had actually become unreliable.

Its HP and base Special Attack were as high as 216, while among its remaining base stats, only Speed barely broke past one hundred.

Under these circumstances, even though Zygarde was at the level of a walking health bar, taking Lugia's attack still felt rather unpleasant.

Then…

Boom!

Rayquaza, transformed into a sharp arrow, suddenly rushed in.

It immediately slammed into Zygarde, triggering countless explosions.

"Draco Meteor!"

Grey shouted the command.

Rayquaza's long body directly bound Zygarde. Meanwhile, it condensed an energy sphere filled with surging Dragon-type power, then blasted it straight into Zygarde.

Zygarde suffered repeated injuries.

The Nihil Light it had finally managed to gather dispersed on the spot.

All thunder, no lightning.

Their Mega Zygarde had thought this was going to be its spotlight moment.

In the end…

Heh. It was beaten up by the enemy's numbers advantage!

"Reshiram, Draco Meteor! Kyurem, Freezing Flare!

"Mewtwo, go deal with Xerneas. Groudon, Kyogre, I'll leave Yveltal to you.

"Lugia, use Dragon Rush on Zygarde!"

In an instant, Grey adjusted his strategy again.

Crash!

While Rayquaza was binding Zygarde, Reshiram directly flapped its wings and flew high, releasing Draco Meteor at close range as well. The move smashed into Zygarde's head.

It was super effective!

Zygarde never could have imagined that it, as the observer of nature, would be beaten to this state.

But it did not have time to think.

Kyurem's Freezing Flare followed immediately afterward.

Zygarde only felt an enormous impact throughout its body. Countless streams of cold air poured into it, making even its cells feel as if they were about to split apart.

Crack.

They actually did split apart.

Countless Zygarde Cells scattered and vanished.

Mega Zygarde instantly turned into its 10% Doberman-like form.

Smack.

It fell to the ground.

At this very moment, Zygarde really had become a stray by the roadside.

Grey fell silent for a brief moment.

But he only shifted his gaze toward the most threatening opponent, Xerneas.

A Xerneas that had used Geomancy…

Still, his side had the advantage in numbers. As long as they defeated Yveltal first, they could deal with Xerneas afterward.

For a moment, the dawn of victory truly seemed to move toward Grey's side.

In the distance, Hoopa Unbound saw this scene and was so furious that it almost spat three liters of blood.

It was clearly supposed to be the one with the advantage!

Why could that Hoopa summon so many Legendary Pokémon with just one ring?!

Hoopa Unbound burned with rage and directly locked its gaze onto Grey, who was watching the show in the distance.

Yes, that was right. The core of this group of Legendary Pokémon had to be that frail human over there!

If not for that human, the great demon god Hoopa would never have been surrounded and beaten by this group of Legendaries!

For a moment, Hoopa Unbound lost its mind and directly sent six golden rings over.

The gaps between them were sealed by powerful spatial energy, forming a dense web that locked Grey firmly in place.

In an instant, all six of Hoopa Unbound's arms glowed with dark light. Each golden ring turned into a vortex surging with Dark-type energy.

"Heh, human brat! If not for you today, I, the demon god Hoopa, would never have fallen into such a miserable state! So, please die!"

Following its deafening roar, six arms wrapped in purple-black energy tore through space and attacked Grey from different angles.

These attacks twisted and changed shape as they flew, sealing off every possible route of escape around Grey so tightly that not even water could get through.

"Grey!"

Ash rushed forward with all his might, but he was heavily bounced back by the rising golden-ring barrier.

Countless golden rings wrapped in Dark-type energy spun rapidly around Grey, forming a barrier that completely isolated Ash's anxious shout and figure outside.

"No need to worry."

Grey slowly raised his thumb and mouthed the words.

Then, dazzling blue light suddenly burst from around his body.

With a thunderous boom that echoed into the sky, he used only one palm to steadily block Hoopa Unbound's massive arm as it crashed down.

Hoopa Unbound's evil eyes widened. Its golden earrings trembled slightly in shock.

It stared in disbelief at the arm that had been so easily blocked. For the first time, a stunned, caught-off-guard look appeared on its ferocious face.

"You're just a brat using some kind of cheap trick!"

Hoopa Unbound roared angrily. The remaining five arms that had been waiting in formation burst with Dark-type energy at the same time.

Fist shadows wrapped in a dense aura of malice poured down like a storm. Yet the moment they touched the blue glow around Grey, they all came to a halt.

The barrier built from Aura precisely dissolved every attack. Even the shock waves from the energy collisions were gently dispersed outward.

Baraz and Meray: "?"

"Brother, is Aura really that powerful?"

Meray truly had not expected the young man in front of her to possess such powerful ability.

Facing such a fierce assault, he had managed to come out with only the hem of his clothes slightly dirtied.

Whoa. Aura was way too impressive!

Then, as humans who possessed the Arceus Force, could they also do this?

Thinking of that, Meray looked toward her brother. He had been praised as the most talented young man in their clan. Did that mean he might also possess this kind of strength?

"Uh…"

Baraz scratched his head.

What could he say?

That the Arceus Force was only good at sealing and not good at attacking?

That explanation actually seemed fairly reasonable.

But at the end of the day, it was only an excuse.

"Little sister, sometimes it's better not to focus too much on outsiders."

Mm.

Baraz coughed lightly.

He was just one step away from saying the fact that he himself could not do it.

He had no idea how Grey trained.

To reach this level, he must have put in no small amount of effort.

Maybe after this was over, he could ask Grey about his training experience with this ability?

Yes, that was it!

Thinking of that, Baraz also started cheering Grey on.

"Hah, you brat really are ridiculous. This is the first time I've seen a human use such a fragile body to fight me, and not take a single bit of damage."

Hoopa Unbound panted heavily, its dark-rainbow body covered in fine beads of sweat.

Its six arms trembled unnaturally. Its previously violent assault had become scattered and powerless.

Every time its attacks touched that layer of blue light, its own force rebounded and left its body numb.

Dark-type energy struck the Aura barrier and created rings of ripples, yet it could not leave even a single crack. Instead, the impact made its arms ache and go numb.

"If you're weak, train harder."

Grey slowly lifted his eyes and calmly raised his middle finger at Hoopa Unbound.

That contemptuous gesture instantly ignited its fury.

"Human brat, you've got guts!"

Hoopa Unbound gathered all of its strength and launched a fierce attack. But just as its six arms rose, they suddenly froze.

A tearing pain came from the back of its neck.

Hoopa Unbound had no choice but to pull back two of its golden rings to check the situation.

At some unknown point, Mew had stealthily arrived behind it and was biting down hard on its vital point. Bright Bug-type energy surged between its little fangs, dealing doubled damage!

Bug-type Leech Life!

Its power was as high as 80, truly terrifying!

"Hehe~"

Seeing that it had been discovered, Mew giggled.

Then, dazzling Bug-type light burst from both of its hands, and cross-shaped blades of energy sank deep into the back of Hoopa Unbound's neck.

"That hurts!"

This precise strike made the arrogant Hoopa Unbound let out a pained howl. Its six arms swung out of control, and its heavy body staggered several steps, nearly collapsing completely.

The Bug-type energy was like a red-hot branding iron, leaving a sizzling cross-shaped burn mark on its body. Even the golden rings spinning around it flickered on and off because their master had been injured.

"Hoopa Unbound, even now, are you still refusing to admit defeat?"

Grey's gaze swept across the battlefield. The Legendary Pokémon summoned by Hoopa Unbound were already lying all over the place.

Regigigas was sprawled among cracked layers of rock. Yveltal had been stabbed down by Groudon's Precipice Blades and could not get back up. Zygarde lay on the ground like a dead dog.

The outcome was already decided.

Only Xerneas was still bitterly holding on.

However, Hoopa Unbound still stubbornly straightened its body. Its six golden rings returned, vibrating between its trembling arms.

Although blood continued dripping from the cross-shaped wound, an unyielding flame still burned in its crimson pupils. Using the last of its strength, it once again took up a fighting stance.

For a moment, Grey seemed to have become the unforgivable villain instead.

"Hah. Why did you do all those things?"

At that moment, Hoopa flew over and pointed at Hoopa Unbound as it scolded it.

Although Hoopa was usually a little mischievous and liked causing trouble, it had not done that many bad things!

But the things Hoopa Unbound had done were truly bad.

Mm.

Hoopa really could not understand what the point of doing all that was.

"Damn it. You are clearly one with me! And yet you still keep such a naive side! My kind self, you really are ugly!"

Hoopa Unbound let out a cold laugh.

It was Hoopa's negative emotions, a brand-new existence born entirely from Hoopa's negativity.

And now Hoopa was turning around and refusing to acknowledge it as a Pokémon?

Even pointing fingers at it?

This made Hoopa Unbound so angry it wanted to fight Hoopa for three hundred rounds, then seize Hoopa's body for itself!

All of this should have belonged to it!

"You enjoy being the center of attention, don't you?"

At that moment, Grey suddenly spoke.

"Hm?"

Hoopa Unbound did not want to answer Grey's question.

But after lowering its head and meeting Grey's eyes, it still nodded blankly.

"But you've done so many wrong things that even if I wanted to catch you, I couldn't just wipe the slate clean."

Grey had indeed developed the thought of catching it.

But directly catching it was impossible.

After all, it had nearly turned Dahara City into a desert ruin.

That was far worse than Team Rocket invading Saffron Gym and turning it into rubble.

Rebuilding was necessary.

But they also had to give the local people some compensation.

"Human, you actually want to catch me?!"

Hoopa Unbound laughed from anger.

It had not even agreed yet, and Grey had already started thinking about catching it?!

Human, you sure have a beautiful imagination!
