Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Hell Killing Field

'Enough. Take me straight to the Hell Killing Field.' Wu Ling had no interest in saying more. He had not come here to play. Killing his way out as soon as possible was the most important objective.

'You have no other questions?' The black-veiled woman could tell that Wu Ling was not like the usual fallen ones, nor was he a criminal chased by Spirit Hall and forced to flee into Slaughter City. No wonder the Slaughter King had told her to pay extra attention to him before she came to receive him. This person had no hatred in his heart at all, and he had a clear objective.

Such a person would come here for only one purpose: to temper himself, obtain the Deathgod Domain, and break out of Slaughter City.

Wu Ling was currently in Slaughter City's outer city. Casual killing was not allowed here, because this place was filled with failures who did not dare enter the Hell Killing Field. They voluntarily contributed two cups of Bloody Mary each month in exchange for the Slaughter King's protection.

And those two cups only bought the right to stay in the outer city. To guarantee food, drink, lodging, and daily life here, they had to contribute even more Bloody Marys. That was why so many people here were thin as skeletons and looked utterly haggard.

These people seemed alive, but in truth, they were no different from the dead. They were merely dragging out their final breaths.

Soon, Wu Ling followed the black-veiled woman into the inner city. In fact, only from this point onward could it truly be called Slaughter City. The moment he entered, Wu Ling immediately felt an atmosphere completely different from the outer city.

If the outer city was a dead, indifferent world, then the inner city was a luxurious, insane world. Colored lights could be seen everywhere. There were far more people in the inner city than in the outer city, and it was the complete opposite of quiet.

The inner city was chaos. Excited laughter, agonized cries, and many other sounds that chilled the blood came from every direction.

Wu Ling looked around. In a corner to his right, an extremely tall burly man was holding a fairly attractive woman and pawing at her.

A moment later, a man behind the burly man seemed unable to wait any longer. He cut off the burly man's head in one strike, kicked the corpse away, and stole the woman.

But just as that man was about to finish enjoying himself, the woman suddenly drew her finger across his neck. The man followed the same path as the burly man before him.

So this really is a place with no rules at all. Slaughter can be seen anytime, anywhere, Wu Ling thought as he observed an environment that seemed chaotic yet also carried a strange order of its own.

Although the people around them had all noticed this newcomer, none of them dared attack Wu Ling right now. The black-veiled woman beside him was the Slaughter King's envoy. As long as she stayed at Wu Ling's side, it meant his twelve-hour newcomer protection period had not yet ended.

'What do you think? Is this place interesting? As long as you have strength, status, authority, and beautiful women can all be yours to enjoy,' the black-veiled woman tempted him.

'Not interested. Take me to the Hell Killing Field.' Wu Ling ignored her temptation and continued insisting.

'Hmph. Fine. But once we reach that place, my protection will no longer matter. Whether you live or die will depend entirely on you.' The black-veiled woman sneered and led Wu Ling to a huge black building.

This place was about the same size as the Great Spirit Arena Wu Ling had seen in Polaris, but it was far more oppressive. It stood at the very center of Slaughter City, which showed just how important it was to this place.

'Take your identity plaque and register. Then wait for the match to begin. During the waiting period, fighting is not allowed. Each group entering the killing field contains ten people. No matter what methods you use to slaughter one another, the only requirement is that you walk out alive at the end. Only one person in each group can survive. There is no such thing as surrender.' The woman gave a simple explanation.

Wu Ling nodded. He knew the rest. What he needed to do next was win one victory after another in the Hell Killing Field until he achieved one hundred wins, then clear Hell Road.

However, entering the Hell Killing Field required one cup of Bloody Mary. Ahead, many people were lining up with cups filled with fresh blood.

At that moment, a fierce-looking large man walked over without saying a word. He casually chose someone from the crowd, killed that person with one punch, then seized the Bloody Mary in their hand. Clearly, the Bloody Mary used as an entry fee did not need to belong to the entrant. Stolen blood counted as well.

Wu Ling walked forward without expression. The black-veiled woman reminded him, 'If you provoke someone on your own initiative, the newcomer protection period will also become useless.'

'Does not matter. I never needed that kind of thing anyway.' Wu Ling walked to the large man and lightly placed his hand on his blade.

In Slaughter City, words were unnecessary. If you wanted something, you killed its owner and took it. If Wu Ling did not learn to adapt in this damned place, he would suffer for it even with his strength. After all, he was not yet strong enough to ignore the rules completely.

The large man knew he had been targeted by Wu Ling. He gave a cruel smile, summoned a spiked club, and smashed it down with all his strength.

Wu Ling looked without fear at the spiked club, which was larger than his head. His fingers and arm applied the smallest force.

A flash of blade light passed. Before the people nearby could react, a head flew high into the air. Then, with no brain left to control it, the headless corpse toppled toward Wu Ling.

Wu Ling sidestepped the corpse and, at the same time, elegantly took the cup of Bloody Mary from the dead man's hand.

Lightly shaking the Bloody Mary in his hand, Wu Ling walked slowly toward the registration area. The people in front of him, after seeing his strength, moved aside one after another.

This was not only respect for the strong. It was also because they did not want to be placed in the same group as Wu Ling. Most of the people present had no confidence they could block that blade.

Even the few people who did believe they could block that first strike had no way of knowing whether that was Wu Ling's full strength. Perhaps the moment they blocked the first cut, the second would arrive.

So before they understood this newcomer's true strength, making way was not shameful.

In this way, using the Bloody Mary he had seized, Wu Ling smoothly arrived at the Hell Killing Field's registration counter.

'I want to register.' Wu Ling walked up to the counter and tossed over his identity plaque.

The attendant was a numb-looking woman. Her face showed not a trace of emotion, as if she were a puppet. She accepted the plaque and said, 'Very well. Number 1314. Nine people have already registered before you, so you are the tenth. You may enter the next match.'
