Mieya and her friends saw the swarm from afar. Whatever it was, seemed to have attracted a lot of interest.
The birds were the first to flee the scene, leaving a gleaming pile behind.
Mieya, Yan and Stefan approached the pile of metal, flies aggressively claiming their territory.
"Why are there so many flies here?" Yan complained as he swung his stick in an attempt to deter them.
"Something must have died," Stefan responded, "I've seen it on the farm before."
"You think it's under the metal?" Yan replied, now losing the battle.
"I think it's armour!" Mieya cut through.
The flies dispersed, finally leaving Yan and his stick alone.
"Armour?" The two boys responded, "Here?"
She nodded softly.
"So…" Yan began, holding his stick before him, "There's someone inside?"
"Probably." She said plainly.
All three looked directly at the end of Yan's stick.
He tapped gently on the shiny metal. The sound was dull and short.
Nothing happened.
They quickly shuffled around the armour. Poking, prodding, examining. It did not move.
"It's not empty." Stefan pointed out.
"Nor is it moving." Yan added.
Mieya walked over to the helmet and tried to pull it.
"Aaaaarg!" A sudden sound of pain came from inside the helmet.
The three kids ran away screaming, leaving the man to be berated by flies once more.
