Chapter 248 - Chapter 248: Immortal Spirit Energy

Chapter 248: Immortal Spirit Energy

"The aura of an immortal herb? But this is one of the later auction items—surely an ordinary immortal herb doesn't deserve such prominence. Besides, its energy doesn't seem particularly strong," commented Elder Xuan of Shrek Academy, frowning slightly.

The Academy was no stranger to immortal herbs. In terms of appearance, aura, and medicinal potency, no faction on the Douluo Continent understood them better than Shrek.

That was why Elder Xuan was sure—the green bamboo was indeed an immortal herb, but merely an ordinary one. Its shape was unfamiliar, but its power didn't appear exceptional.

Mu En and the others shared similar thoughts. The bamboo itself was ordinary; the strange part lay in the white mist surrounding it.

This opinion was common among the top factions—Shrek, the Holy Spirit Cult, the Body Sect—all arriving at the same conclusion: there was something extraordinary about that mist.

"Immortal Spirit Energy!"

The moment Gu Yuena sensed the divine aura emanating from the mist, her eyes flashed with surprise.

The Starry Auction Pavilion was actually willing to auction such a thing?

Though the Immortal Spirit Energy was indeed miraculous, it was of little value to her personally.

For beings below the god level, however, its benefits were unimaginable. It could even assist someone in breaking through to the legendary divine realm.

Unfortunately, for the Soul Beast race, this treasure was destined to be useless.

Under the watch of multiple God Kings, any attempt by the Soul Beasts to use Immortal Spirit Energy to ascend would be doomed from the start—the Divine Realm would sense it immediately.

Even with her current power, Gu Yuena could contend with one God King, but if several joined forces, even she—standing at the half-step God King level—would be overwhelmed.

She had no choice but to plan carefully.

"Master, did I hear correctly? You're saying this white mist surrounding the bamboo is Immortal Spirit Energy—from the Divine Realm itself?"

Di Tian's eyes widened. The words "Immortal Spirit Energy" had sounded familiar, but when Gu Yuena confirmed it, a chill ran down his spine.

"Yes," she answered quietly. "This mist carries the essence of the Divine Realm. For a soul master who has reached the third stage of the Ultimate Douluo realm—the quasi-god level—refining their foundation with this energy could grant them more than a fifty percent chance to become a true god."

Her calm tone only made the statement more astounding.

Di Tian exhaled slowly, his expression complicated. "So I was right. Still, it seems this energy offers little use to our Soul Beast race."

Bi Ji let out a gentle sigh beside them. "Exactly. We are shackled by the Divine Realm's surveillance. It's a miracle I reached the million-year level at all—it was only thanks to the Divine Stone shielding me from their gaze. Otherwise, my breakthrough would have been impossible."

"Still," Di Tian said thoughtfully, his golden eyes gleaming, "judging by what has appeared in recent auctions—and with this Immortal Spirit Energy now unveiled—I can guess what will come in future events. The Pavilion may continue introducing items tied to the Divine Realm. One day, something capable of hiding us from the gods' perception completely will appear."

His voice carried growing hope.

The logic was sound.

Their Soul Beast race had the power and patience to wait. And when the right treasure emerged—one that could help them ascend beyond mortal limits—they would seize it no matter the cost.

Soon, the Soul Beasts would have an army of their own gods—perhaps even enough to storm the Divine Realm itself.

The others—Myriad Demon King, Bear Lord, Zi Ji, and more—felt their blood surge at the thought.

They could hardly wait to see the future—the day when divine treasures would grant them true godhood.

Meanwhile, the human soul masters remained puzzled. None among them recognized the strange term Immortal Spirit Energy.

They leaned forward, eyes burning with curiosity, desperate to hear Jiang Li's explanation.

Having noted the crowd's impatience, Jiang Li smiled faintly and began.

"As many of you may already recognize, the green bamboo before you is indeed an immortal herb known as the Ink Jade Divine Bamboo. It strengthens the meridians, increases physical resilience, purifies soul power, and like all immortal herbs, greatly enhances cultivation speed and rank."

"Of course," he continued, "such basic benefits alone wouldn't be worthy of appearing in this stage of the auction."

"By now, you've likely guessed—the true focus of this item is not the bamboo itself but the white mist encircling it."

His words confirmed what most already suspected.

Everyone waited breathlessly for the next revelation.

What made this mist so extraordinary? Why did it remain swirling tightly around the bamboo, never dispersing into the air?

"This mist," Jiang Li explained, "is called Immortal Spirit Energy—a phenomenon born of the Divine Realm itself."

The moment the words Divine Realm left his lips, shock passed through the audience. Countless hearts skipped a beat.

Could this mist truly enable a soul master to ascend to godhood?

Energy directly derived from the Divine Realm could not be ordinary. Considering the order of presentation, this was almost certainly the sought-after divine-grade treasure they had all been waiting for.

Excitement spread quickly. The anticipation in the room reached its highest pitch yet.

Over in the Holy Spirit Cult's section, a middle-aged man seated beside Zhongli Wu suddenly came alive. His earlier fatigue vanished in an instant.

This was Long Xiaoyao, another of the Cult's Ultimate Douluo.

He had arrived quietly, his only goal to secure an artifact linked to divinity.

For that reason, he and Zhongli Wu had agreed earlier to conserve their strength—to abstain from previous rounds and wait for a true godly treasure to appear.

But as the auction progressed and one precious item after another slipped away, doubt began creeping into their minds.

Had they misjudged? Perhaps there would be no divine artifact this time after all?

Until now—when the words "Immortal Spirit Energy" shattered their doubts entirely.
