Chapter 4 - The Birthday Bomb

The silence from the system didn't just irritate Itsuki it angered him. Lying there with pain burning through his ribs and the taste of blood creeping into his mouth, he forced himself to stabilize and calm his mind and immediately dragged the translucent panel back into view, his Sharingan spinning faintly as adrenaline kept him conscious longer than his body had any right to allow. The interface appeared instantly, as calm and minimal as before, almost mocking him with how little it seemed to care about his current situation.

[ Host - Uchiha Itsuki ]

[ Next summon - 365 days remaining ]

[ Summoned Item available - Click to withdraw ]

[ terms and conditions ]

"…That's it?" he rasped under his breath, his voice rough as he coughed lightly, a small streak of blood escaping his lips. A clean, useless interface appeared in Itsuki's eyes. His eyes flicked briefly toward the "Summoned Item" option he saw what it was, curiosity sparking for a fraction of a second before dying immediately. I don't have time for this thing right now, he thought bitterly. I have a angry murder serpent trying to unalive me and aren't summon supposed to listen to their summoner why is this Gyarados attacking me. Without hesitation, he selected the only thing that might explain this disaster—the terms and conditions.

The familiar wall of text appeared again, identical to what he had skimmed earlier, and under normal circumstances he would've dismissed it just as quickly, but now his Sharingan was active, his perception sharpened to a level that forced him to notice details he would've otherwise ignored.

[ Terms and conditions ]

[ This system can help you summon one item and one summon from other worlds including the media world like anime, movies, series etc from your last life ]

[ This system is purely summoning system and will only summon one item and one summon once a year that is on your birthday ]

[ This system will offer no quest and reward ]

[ This system has no points and shop function ]

[ Any individual or item summoned will be adapted to the power system of current world ]

[ If any overpowered character or item is summoned it will be nerfed to not collapse the power level of the current world ]

[ ... ]

Under normal circumstances, his would have smashed the "Accept All" button without reading a single word just like he did with every software update in his past life like for this system he also barely skimmed through this panel before pressing [Yes]. But now, with his Sharingan active, his vision zoomed in with high-definition, micro-level clarity.

He pumped chakra into his eyes, forcing his Sharingan to magnify the absolute bottom of the screen at [ ... ].

And there it was. Font that was practically invisible to the human eye:

[ All summons have their free will and no reason to listen to summoner - Please proceed with caution ]

Itsuki stared.

For one full second, his brain refused to process it.

Then—

"…You've got to be kidding me," he whispered, his voice going from anger to shock then he became so furious that if instead of Naruto anime he was in some Chinese cultivation novel he would have slit a mouthful of blood. A strained, almost hysterical laugh escaped him despite the pain tearing through his body. "Fine print… really?"

{ Author's Life advice - NEVER skip through fine print }

He let his head fall back slightly against the ground, staring at the sky with a mixture of disbelief and anger. "Even the damn system uses fine print… that's just evil." His jaw clenched as frustration boiled over, raw and immediate. "So what, I just summoned a wild beast with zero loyalty and expected it to listen to me like some obedient pet?" His fingers dug into the dirt as realization fully set in. "I'm Screwed."

The surge of emotion fear, anger, pain, and sheer survival instinct spiked all at once, pushing his body beyond its limits, and his Sharingan reacted accordingly. The single tomoe in his eye spun rapidly before splitting, forming a second mark as his perception sharpened even further, the world slowing just enough to matter.

He barely had time to register it before his instincts screamed again, louder this time, dragging his attention back to the real problem. Gyarados had not lost interest. If anything, it looked more focused now, its massive body shifting slightly as chakra gathered once more, far denser and more concentrated than before.

Itsuki's eyes widened.

"…That's not good."

The air seemed to distort around Gyarados as a dense sphere of energy formed in its open mouth, the surrounding water reacting violently to the sheer pressure building up. Itsuki didn't need a explanation he had watched enough Pokémon to know what was coming.

"It's charging a Hyper Beam."

The words barely left his mouth before instinct took over completely. Pain screamed through his ribs as he forced chakra into his body, reinforcing his muscles just enough to move, his legs trembling as he pushed himself off the ground in a desperate, uneven leap.

"Shit!" he growled through clenched teeth, his body protesting violently as he threw himself sideways, away from the incoming attack.

The beam fired.

A blinding surge of energy tore through the space where he had been lying a fraction of a second earlier, slamming into the ground with catastrophic force. The explosion that followed wasn't just loud it was overwhelming, a violent eruption that sent shockwaves tearing through the area as dirt, water, and debris were blasted into the air. For a brief moment, it looked like a miniature mushroom cloud rising from the lake's edge.

A true Birthday Bomb…Happy birthday to me, was the thought that crossed Itsuki mind, then the shockwave hit him a second later, slamming into his already damaged body and sending him flying several meters across the ground. He hit hard, rolling uncontrollably before finally coming to a stop, his ears ringing violently.

Pain assaulted him again, sharper this time, forcing a choked cough from his throat as blood spilled from his mouth and a thin line of red ran from his nose. His vision flickered, threatening to go dark, but he forced himself to stay conscious through sheer stubbornness.

Move… don't stop moving…

Using the thick smoke and dust cloud left behind by the explosion as cover, Itsuki dragged his battered body across the ground, each movement causing him jolts of pain as he forced himself toward the nearest cluster of trees. His limbs felt heavy, unresponsive, but fear and his survival instincts kept him going, inch by inch, until he finally reached the edge of the forest and collapsed behind the cover of thicker foliage. He pressed himself against the ground, barely daring to breathe as he tried to suppress any sound that might give away his position.

Eventually, the smoke began to clear.

Itsuki peeked out slightly, his Sharingan still active as he scanned the lake. Gyarados remained there, its massive form looming over the water, its gaze sweeping across the area where Itsuki had been moments ago. Then, slowly, the Gyarados turned away. Its long body shifted, moving toward the opposite direction, away from the Uchiha compound and toward the outskirts of the village, as if losing interest now that its target had disappeared.

Itsuki relaxed and let out a sigh of relief.

And then, as if on cue, distant voices broke through the ringing in his ears, followed by the rapid movement of multiple figures approaching the area.

Uchiha Police.

Finally.

Itsuki let out a weak, breathless sound that might have been a laugh under different circumstances. No matter what world you're in… the police are always late, he thought dryly, the absurdity of the situation somehow managing to register even now. His vision dimmed further as exhaustion and pain finally caught up to him, his body reaching its limit after everything it had just endured.

"…Perfect timing," he mumbled faintly, his voice barely audible as his consciousness slipped.

And just like that

Uchiha Itsuki passed out.
