Following the young mermaid named Serena, Aster Grant and the others navigated through the intricate waterways and alleys of Kaelon.
They arrived at a rather secluded, somewhat rundown area.
Serena's home was a cottage built against the rocks.
Pushing open the creaky wooden door, a faint medicinal scent and humid air greeted them.
Lying on the simple bed inside was a young mermaid girl with a face pale as paper and a weak breath.
Her tail had almost lost its sheen—it was Serena's sister.
The Snow Maiden stepped forward gracefully, crouched down, extending her slender fingers as white as jade, gently resting them on the girl's cold wrist.
Her ice-blue eyes slightly closed, carefully perceiving the girl's internal condition.
Moments later, she opened her eyes, a glint of solemnity flashed, looking up at Aster Grant, she said in a deep voice:
"She's poisoned. A very strange and chilling poison has already eroded her vital organs and source of life."
