Chapter 16 - BATTLE FOR WINDSTREW

The trumpets of doom boomed itself throughout the heavens, signaling that armageddon is nigh. When dawn came to the skies, the moon immediately followed to obscure the lands below; a velvet eclipse– unnatural to the laws of nature. Malicious bursts of unfamiliar magic filled the heavens above. "What in the–?!" Tenebrosia exclaimed. "The magic I used on the boy should have been enough to send him back here. If not then… no," Tenebrosia shook her head. Her wings fluttered in the red sky as she began to descend to the streets of Windstrew in chaos, before the creature could even reach the metropolis.

The citizens of Windstrew; all kinds were at war with their mutated kin. "A party has started without me? How rude." A mutated and possessed Paragos and human duo rushed at her flanks holding swords. "MACALGE!" The Maiden roared, and conjured the hand of Mistress Hecate, slapping the two away from her. The two were thrown to the skies above and landed in another district of Windstrew. "Sekai. Where is he?" Tenebrosia rushed to the streets, amplifying her hearing so that she may hear his voice. None. Only the screams, hurlings and twinklings of magic can be heard.

"Damn, if I don't find him before SHE does, then he's as dead as a leaf to a flame." The Maiden rushed around the giant walls of Windstrew in the form of a panther, trying to search for any traces of Sekai. It doesn't matter who sees her in such a form; what matters is the boy. The only thing Tenebrosia clings onto.

Khanih and Sekai observed the destruction that befell Windstrew. A gargantuan serpent of monumental size began thrashing the fortified walls. The sight broke the fragile heart the Padomas boy bore; a fragile house of glass against a violent stone. "The city's destroyed… what of the people?" Sekai asks with a sorrowful tone. "Aye, nothing we could do. Most are gone. The signs started showing a while back, lad," Khanih replied. "Huh?" Sekai gasped. "You see, several settlements in the area suddenly stopped trading their goods in the city– last I've heard from a wan and some friends. Infected food was everywhere; glad I didn't ate them like an idiot. Then, those shitehawks of abominations then began causing nothing but chaos inside the walls. What's worse is that the King and Queen– oh, lickarses of the Crown– locked the walls. Lucky for this oul fella I got out. Not many others would've. Some fought, some died, some succumbed."

The image of the horrors of what's happening inside Windstrew's walls crushed the hope that Sekai held for the world. Maybe the great mother of the earth, Utna-Vi, turned her back on her own creation. Sekai dared not shed a tear. Throughout everything, from the burning of his village, to the thorned and warmth embrace of Tenebrosia's arms, to the death of Amma, and to the destruction around him, maybe this is how mortals defiled the land made by his goddess. For in truth, mortals live in constant chaos in a land they took for granted. The ambition of one is the fall of all.

Suddenly, the skies above Windstrew turned the colors of golden and scarlet. Angels and demons descended together in a terrifying and alien union that should have never been conceived. "What is that shitehawk…?" Khanih gasped as he reached out to Sekai. "Bollox! Get yer arse inside the carriage, lad! Let's–" Before he could, a Seraphim angel with glorious wings already had Sekai in its grasp. It screeched and Sekai was clearly struggling, powerless against as he was seemingly ambushed. "Shit!" Khanih attempted to strike the fiend with an amplified pistol, however, angels and demons surrounded him that blocked the attack. A grunt was let out from Khanih's bearded and furry mouth. "Ye fuckin' jackals!" He yelled and began firing to the armed horde that surrounded him, as the screaming Padomas was flown away. Aiwa was left behind squeaking within Khanih's side.

Tenebrosia ran towards the chaos, quickly avoiding any unnecessary fight to look for Sekai in such a form. Even with the scrutiny of the Maidens, no one glanced as survival was a focus. "There she blows!" A familiar voice of a Paragos was heard as barrels of rum rolled to a pile of the mutated, as flames erupted from a specialized weapon. It was Ramzu alongside his three Paragosi working with each other, defending the people of Windstrew. Unbeknownst to them, a crazed mutated dog jumped from a building's roof above to attempt and strike the four of them, in which, Tenebrosia intervened, shedding her animalistic form and turning herself back to normal, jumping with extreme velocity. The Maiden punched the canine with a flaming fist it flew across several walls and splatted into a blaze of flames after hitting a building. "The Maiden?" Ramzu said with a low tone. Tenebrosia landed beside him. Pushing aside any trivial questions, Ramzu caught something: Sekai is gone. "Where's the boy?" The Paragos asked, as his companions continued fighting with their respective flamethrowers. "I lost him. I warped him back here during our journey since it was getting too dangerous–" Tenebrosia was interrupted by one of the giant city walls falling from a distance away as the serpent broke through. It crumbled and exploded as the people of Windstrew, or what many survivors remained, screamed in panic. "I don't have much time, help me look for him. If you do, save him." She said with haste before sprinting away. Ramzu was confused, but there was indeed no luxury for wondering as he is now in the quest of looking for the Padomas boy. "Mr. Amorani and Margarie, come here and help!" Ramzu yelled to the surviving mayor of Rindsow and her daughter, the duo quickly yelled back in affirmation as they prepared for another fight.

The abominable serpent groaned, and its sound was guttural before it roared with ferocity that released a shockwave in the city. It was deafening; some of the survivors died from the ear-piercing roar, others continued to fight yet their hearts pounded from a new gargantuan threat. The monstrous abominations continued to battle amidst the mayhem that befell the falling metropolis. Tenebrosia stopped on her tracks as she saw the gargantuan monstrosity that wrecked the walls of Windstrew and grunted. "Damn it," she cursed under her breath. "I have no time for this." The Maiden jumped high across buildings, and as she ran, she shouted her chant. "EOPHAN!" From a warping portal of hell revealed the scarab demon, Apate, who breathed its magenta fire to the abominations that followed pursuit of the Maiden on the smooth and flat and the slate roofs of the buildings, incinerating them. Due to their far weaker state than the larger ones, the horde of obscenity turned into a puddle of disgusting goops of blood and flesh mangled together. Tenebrosia did not change her objective and continued to relentlessly search for Sekai.

"MACALGE!" Tenebrosia yelled as she leaped into the air, and from a fluctuating magenta portal descended the fearsome Mistress Hecate. The demoness landed upon the snout of the serpent, rushing towards one of its eyes; the eye dwarfed the demoness even at her great height. Nevertheless, Hecate's twisted and distorted laugh echoed as she violently pierced one of its eyes with her claw-like nails. A gush of blood exploded and the creature wailed. Albeit bloodsoaked, Mistress Hecate continued to damage the serpent. However, due to its prowess, the abominable amalgamation released a giant burst of magic that blasted Mistress Hecate away, forcing the demoness to unmanifest to recover. From the shockwaves of the blast, many more were killed. Tenebrosia held her ground as violent winds pushed everything away, wiping a portion of Windstrew into rubbles and debris, yet the battle for life and death continued everywhere once the shockwaves settled.

At the spires of Windstrew's palace, a giant mist of black and red appeared, swirling around the tower. From the mist was Taralon in a more rugged and deranged appearance. "Fear the power of darkness, you insolent pests! Feel the unheard's wrath!" She wails and laughs maniacally. Tenebrosia heard the call from a great distance away, causing her to halt as she stood upon a roof, seeing the dark and bloodied cloud that swirled on top of the spire from the other end of the city.

COME NOW, CHILD. ARE YOU REALLY THAT STUPID TO BELIEVE I DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO FOLLOW YOU? FOOLISH.

The Maiden breathed deeply as the voice within her mind taunted her 'failures.' Everything was a blur, and everything was in ruined chaos. For a moment, everything fell silent and Tenebrosia could not hear anything. Then, his cry. "Someone! Help!" Sekai whelped, and the woman saw the boy being carried by a Seraphim– a general with great wings– to the spires of the palace. Tenebrosia transformed into an owl and began amplifying herself into great speeds towards the boy. As she was about to charge at the celestial being, a tentacle grabbed Tenebrosia's foot, and forcibly and violently pulled her down, causing the Maiden to crash onto a burning open space.

As the dust settled, two disfigured and monstrous humans appeared. Their eyes are many yet they glowed of magenta indicating they are possessed, but their human shapes are still vaguely visible. From their painful figures revealed ribs and distorted flesh, organs and additional appendages that were never meant to be there. They oozed black liquid and dripped excessive amounts of scarlet blood. Golden crowns on their heads were fusing on their mass; it was the King and Queen of Windstrew mutated beyond recognition. "No gods or kings, only man, I suppose." Tenebrosia scoffed as she stood up, dusting herself before conjuring Chateau Scapegrace. "TIME… IS RUNNING OUT, LITTLE MAIDEN," the King spoke. The voice of Taralon spoke through the puppets, making Tenebrosia disgusted at hearing it. "Oh, but if time is running out, then do please explain why you're dragging me here?" The Maiden smirked before charging towards the fallen rulers of the city.

The duo gargled and screamed with the distorted voice of Taralon. A clash of violet lights blasted throughout the brawl. An appendage tried to strike the Maiden from the flank, but Tenebrosia quickly evaded it by rolling on the floor made of cobblestone. She immediately got to her feet, performing a ritualistic dance and posed, yelling her chant. "EOPHAN!" Apate arrived once more through a portal; the scarab fired her breath upon the fallen royalty, scorching them and injuring the two badly. However, due to their far mutated states, their weak spots weren't affected. "Damn, their flesh is too thick," Tenebrosia muttered.

As the two rapidly regenerated their burned states, a Champion of Fire and Light appeared. "There they are!" The Champion of Fire said, as he blasted a ball of fire upon the mutated royalty, causing the two to groan once more. "Our King and Queen ruined…" the divine-like Champion of Light stared at them, holding his staff. His long pale yellow hair drifted through the burning winds as he ensued the attack of his comrade with a blast of light, striking the King and Queen at their heads to no visible injury inflicted at them. The two Champions then noticed Tenebrosia and her summoned demon– Apate. "A Maiden," softly said by the Champion of Light. "Aha! You criminal! You will pay–" the Champion of Fire was interrupted as Tenebrosia scoffs. "I don't have time to entertain you," before turning into an owl once more as Apate retreated to its portal. "Why, I–" the Champion of Fire was yet again interrupted as the sickening majesties attacked.

Khanih rushed over the gates of Windstrew inside of his carriage, avoiding any rubble or sudden fall of debris. His vehicle chugged of steam as it whistled loudly upon the destructive streets. "That's a fucka!" The Paragos yelped in his raspy voice. "I just took one second of the lad and his flyin' over the skies? By some gobshite of an angel? Giant shitehawk monsters?! The world has gone craic than eva' before!" Khanih yelled, running over several lesser demons and angels that conquered the streets. As the rugged paws of the Paragos continued to maneuver his steam-powered carriage, the streets continued to pile with abominations left and right, angels raining down from the sky as demons jumped from infernal gateways. "Friggin' super-shite-naturals! Stop pissing me off, ay!" Khanih amped his pace, crashing through more of these lesser grunts.

As the Paragos eyed the sky, he saw Sekai in the grasp of the Seraphim, struggling to move. "The lad!" Khanih exclaimed as he tried to follow where the divine being and the hostaged Padomas: the palace of Windstrew. However, before he could, the path ahead was blocked by an ongoing battle between a large, abhorrent monstrosity. It was a bovine-like creature that has seemingly assimilated many poor individuals into its body. Their skin was missing and they were groaning and moving weakly. The creature stood tall, rivaling the heights of the two-story buildings that surrounded the plaza. Its horns twisted and mangled, its back oozing of blood and that black liquid as tentacles appeared in its mouth and back. It held the anchor of a large ship as its weapon. The brave soldiers that formed the resistance of Windstrew battled it. Due to its height, it had struggles moving with the cables of cab saloons blocking its path. However, it pushed through. As one of the cab saloons fell, the abomination grabbed it and threw it on humans who were firing their rifles at it. In an instance, the group turned into an instant red mist as screams of fear blasted through the riot. The creature roared; its sound guttural and unholy.

Khanih clumsily stopped his carriage, positioning it behind a large pile of debris before going out wielding his flamethrower and a few vials of explosive concoctions. "For fuck's sake! The lad is in danger and this gobshite of a bollock is in the way!" Khanih ran to the battlefield, assisting the resistance against the giant that hurled its anchor everywhere. "What the hell is that dryshite?!" The Paragos asked a mage who wielded life magic as the two circled and avoided the beast's strikes. "That monstrosity is what used to be a cow of a farmer, now it has turned into this thing!" She responded, striking the ground with her palms as strong roots came through and raptured through the cobblestone roads, finally wrapping itself upon the mutilated hooves of the beast. Even with the harsh restrictions, the giant broke free and released a guttural roar of aggression. "Die, creature!" A Champion of Thunder released a lightning bolt from the heavens, striking the beast on the head first before slicing clean the giant in half. The resistance cheered, seemingly thinking the fight was over. However, the two-halves of the bovine-monstrosity began releasing guttural moans as its tendrils moved once more, interrupting the cheers. "Ye fuckin' langer!" Khanih roared, throwing a vial of that explosive concoction before blasting his flamethrower upon the halves. The vial blasted into a powerful explosion of flames that set the halves ablaze, stopping the groans as it burned through the giant. The cheers of the resistance were once more heard.

The Paragos looked once more towards the skies, and Sekai was getting nearer to the palace under the hold of the Seraphim. Khanih tried to move back to his carriage to follow, however, a large portion of the mutants surrounded the group, physically unabling Khanih to move further. He is out of words, however, he saw Tenebrosia closely following the boy as she ran to the sides of the wall and jumped high across several stories. "What is she…?" One of mutants charged, causing Khanih to snap away from his focus of the Maiden and the Padomas boy to his enemies. "No time for dilly-dallying," he mutters. He joins the fight, firing his flamethrower to the obscenity before him.

Tenebrosia saw the opening as the Seraphim that held Sekai was within her sights. Seeing her enemy, Taralon, that stood in one of the spires was the direction the Seraphim was heading for, she wasted no time. The Maiden lunged, and jumped high. She pushed her leg towards the direction of the angel. In the middle of her flight, she summoned Chateau Scapegrace. Everything seemed to slow down. Sekai saw a glimpse of Tenebrosia, and his eyes widened with an enigma of emotions. Was it a relief? Anger? Frustration? The only thing is that it was a maelstrom of feelings he can't point at. Tenebrosia tried to strike the Seraphim, however, before she could, she was ambushed by the gargantuan serpent. The Maiden was struck by its giant snout, slamming her with such force. The woman was hurled to the palace of Windstrew, landing on one of the lower chambers of the palace. A giant cloud of dust and debris appeared as a loud crash echoed by a large perimeter. As that happened, several Champions of the elements rushed to fight the gargantuan abomination. Flickers and explosions of flame, water, thunder, nature, earth, and light stalled the beast. Sekai tried to scream for Tenebrosia's name, but the boy was already face to face with Taralon herself. "THE CHILD IS YOURS, WOMAN." The Seraphim spoke, its voice gravelly and grand.

The Signora, who stood on the balcony, smirked malevolently, grabbing Sekai by his collar with her clawed hands and pulling the boy away from the grasp of the celestial being. Her pull was harsh and uncaring, earning a yelp from the Padomas boy. His tail struck upright from petrifying fear. "So, you're the child that pestered me with my plans? That ruined everything? Attempting to keep a monster trapped under your little filthy paws?" Taralon's voice was mocking, trying to get a rise out of Sekai. "She's not a monster–!" "Oh, but she is. You just said it, didn't you, darling?" Taralon interrupted, continuing. "She has blood on her hands, used you as a pawn, used you as a shield. Doesn't that make her evil? You have got to be smarter than that, child." As she held Sekai by her collar, rumblings could be heard below, and the spires seemed to quake a bit.

Taralon smirked, feeling a familiar presence quickly piercing through the tower. She dropped Sekai, her grip completely letting go of the child. Sekai screamed as he began to fall hundreds of feet from the air; gravity was pulling him down to die. The Padomas boy's heart pounded with the fear of death. His tail fluttered violently in the harsh winds; his small body thrashing slightly due to his lightweight mass. Sekai shed tears stemming from his dread. Just as he thought he was about to die, a section of the spire's floors blasted wide open, and out from the clouds of dust came Tenebrosia jumping. Her arms caught the boy and pulled him close to her chest. Sekai was saved, and his tears stopped. Cupped in the Maiden's arms, the boy looked up just to see Tenebrosia looking ahead at a large building they were about to land on. However, before this could be done, the Seraphim slashed Tenebrosia's back with a painful projection of light, causing her to growl in pain as her momentum faltered. This caused the two to crash onto the structure rather than landing on it. Before that could happen, the Maiden shielded the child with her back facing the edifice ahead. The building was mostly destroyed as a large cloud of smoke covered Tenebrosia and Sekai altogether.

As Sekai coughed, his focus immediately shifted to the Maiden. "Miss…?" Sekai whimpered, looking for Tenebrosia as he crawled on the cold floor. As the smoke began to clear, he saw the woman heavily breathing as she was slumped over a wall. From a glimpse, her back was bleeding with a massive slash. The boy on the other hand had no scratches nor marks anywhere on his body. Sekai stood up, he tried reaching out however, he was reluctant. Was it fear, distrust, or anger? To himself or to the Maiden? "It's alright, little one," Tenebrosia said in the smoke. Wiping the dust off her face, Tenebrosia's face was hidden behind her voluminous hair. The boas attached to her bangles fluttered from the slight wind. Her face hidden behind her voluminous hair. "Are you alright, little one?" Tenebrosia finally spoke, letting the Padomas boy finally see her eyes.

Sekai froze. His hands trembled. The Seraphim slowly moved forward towards the duo; Tenebrosia can see the angelic mass looming about. "You haven't trusted any strangers, have you?" The Maiden said with a soft and joking manner. Sekai quickly ran to Tenebrosia with open arms and embraced her. His short stature only allowed him to embrace one of her tall legs. His sniffles and cries can be heard as Tenebrosia simply looked down. Her heart felt warm for the first time; care is that was in her heart. A purpose to live. The Maiden looked up and the Seraphim now loomed and was getting closer.

Before the Padomas boy could say anything, the battle cries of a familiar Paragos can be heard. "Sekai! Where are ye, lad!" The Maiden fixed her posture easily. "It seems like you and my little friend have met." Tenebrosia picked Sekai immediately with both of her arms and embraced the boy in her grasp, swiftly jumping and descending down the building. The carriage and its driver, Khanih, had their backs turned on them. Tenebrosia kneeled to level Sekai's eyes. "You're safe in his hands. Now go," the Maiden turned Sekai around and pushed his back lightly. "Don't look back. Don't regret this. Run as fast as your little feet can take you," she said. Sekai hesitantly walked before he ran without looking back. Tears fell in his cheeks, asking himself if the monster inside her was even real or not.

Tenebrosia stood up and looked at the Seraphim that now loomed above her. "That was quite a dirty trick. I suppose you're not the type to play fair," the Maiden scoffed. Lunging upwards, she summoned Chateau Scapegrace midway as a blast of light and dark magic swirled across the air above Windstrew.

Sekai ran as fast as his Padomas feet could. His tail swayed, his cloak dusted and his hair was covered in pieces of rubble. Unharmed, yet his heart wasn't. "Mr. Khanih!" The boy yelled. As Khanih heard through one of his opened windows, he immediately stopped and bolted out of his steam-powered bogie. "Lad!" The Paragos yelled, however, as soon as he did, a swirling giant orb of magic blasted the skies and created winds that howled violently through the streets and across the gaps of the tall edifices of Windstrew. Some of the riveted platforms of these buildings completely collapsed from the force of the violent gales that boomed throughout the city.

The force was enough for Sekai to stumble his balance, only to be caught in the middle of his fall by Khanih. "Got ya, boy. Hurry inside." The old critter grabbed the boy's wrist and ran to his carriage; Sekai's little feet stumbled once more before regaining his footing to run. From a certain distance, tall buildings fell and landmarks of glory turned to ruins. Such a sight dragged the boy's heart once more, hardening it through violent perception. As the two were inside the carriage, another blast of magic boomed through the skies. The gales and roars of the battle outside echoed around, even within the carriage.

"Arseholes!" Khanih yelled. His raspy voice is more so irritated than angry at the situation happening outside the safety of his bogie. "What was that gobshite?" He asked himself as the old Paragos quickly enabled the engines of his steamed-powered carriage; the compartments roared before going quiet as the vehicle began to move. Sekai was gasping; as he finally caught his breath, he looked outside one of the windows to see an orb of light and dark pulsating with ferocity above. "Miss…" he muttered from his lips quietly, not enough for Khanih to hear, as the bogie chugged its steams away.

"Lad, what happened to ye?" The Paragos uttered out while managing the buttons and levers of the carriage's system. Sekai stayed silent at first, before turning his head from the window to face Khanih, whose back was turned, observing the path ahead as he drove the vehicle. "I was ambushed, mister! And then–" "You got saved by my craic of a friend!" Khanih jovially laughed. "Miss Tenebrosia is your Maiden-friend?" Sekai asked. "Of course! I never knew ye were actually talkin' 'bout her! If I knew, ye'd be hearin' me tell tales of the banjaxed adventures she had told this oul' fella here." The boy paused, before opening his mouth slowly to utter his intended words. "You must tell me what you know about her adventures, Mr. Khanih." The gray critter laughed loudly, "Of course! Of course!" He replied.

"How did you find me, mister?" Sekai said, after a while of silence within the carriage. "Ah, I simply followed ye and that langer of heaven's spawn. Got stalled by a buncha' arses, but I managed." The boy nodded. However, he noticed something: Aiwa. "Mister," he yelped, "where's Aiwa?!" Khanih thought for a moment, rubbing his chain. "Oh! That jackal of a critter? Ye, the fella is right there." Behind Sekai, a closed basket of fruits slowly opened, revealing a gluttoned and sleepy Aiwa feasting on a variety of clean fruits, who can barely squeak. When she saw Sekai, the Dunwaku immediately lightened up and squeaked. It jumped from the shaded barrel and immediately landed on Sekai's arms. "Aiwa!" The boy embraced the critter in his arms; Aiwa recuperated with her squeaks and hugged the boy in return. "Are you hurt?" Sekai examined the critter and saw nothing out of the ordinary. No wounds, no cuts, no injury, no mutations– thank the gods, Sekai thought. "Ah, enough with yer two's willy-nilly. This oul fella's ears here ringing!" He jovially said. The carriage was filled with both laughter and squeaks.

However, this moment of joy was cut shortly as the gargantuan serpent blocked their way. The massive amalgamation surrounded them; its scales were a colored mess of confusion. Streaks of darkness and light blend together unnaturally. It had eyes around its entire body, bumps that looked like humanoid figures trapped within its serpentine mass. The noises inside the carriage turned from joyous to silence, and then panic. "Shite!" Khanih immediately stopped his carriage as the titan's head loomed upon them. Its face was a nightmarish sight to look at; Khanih looked up from his window. Sekai and Aiwa saw it too, as the two trembled. "Mister, what are we going to do!" Sekai exclaimed. The old Paragos stayed frozen, unable to respond. Before anything more happened, Khanih roared. "Taste this, ye feckin' arselicker!" The Paragos pulled a lever by his side, and from his vehicle sprouted flamethrowers and a barrel of his explosive concoctions from its rears and its top.

Flames erupted from the flamethrowers while the concoctions fired away, causing a massive wave of flames to envelop the body in front of them. As the tendrils of blazing red ended, the creature remained unscathed. This caused Khanih to freeze. "What kind of langer is this…?" The serpent released a guttural groan before a screeching cry. "Dryshite," Khanih can only say under his breath. Sekai and Aiwa continued to look up in terror, frozen as well. "We should leave, mister! Mister!" The Padomas boy begged. As Khanih processed everything, as this carriage was his primary transport to migrate to new lands, surviving is better than an uncertain future. The old gray Paragos quickly grabbed whatever he could: spare concoctions and his flamethrower. "Come now, lad!" The two sprinted away from the carriage to the crumbling landscape as the serpent opened its maw and swallowed the vehicle.

A group composed of several Champions and some of the remaining soldiers of the Crown came rushing at the serpent, firing waves of magic that clearly harmed the creature. "What is this thing?!" A Champion of Earth says, before throwing a gargantuan boulder right through the creature's eye and another at its snout, which caused it to groan. As Khanih looked back while Sekai continued to sprint, the abomination was clearly affected and retaliating. "That's gobshite! It can only be harmed by craic magic?!" The Paragos groaned and continued on his feet. "If mama only taught magic for this oul' fella here…" he said under his breath.

"MAIDEN OF DARKNESS, WHY STRUGGLE WHEN EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE IS FOR NAUGHT?" The Seraphim spoke as it continued its prolonged fight with Tenebrosia. It seems like this general was far more stronger than its peers. "I think you'd be more attractive if you shut up and die," Tenebrosia snarled as she grabbed the Seraphim by its wings and hurled it across the sky, causing the angel to scream in rage. Tenebrosia landed on top of a broken yet still standing tall edifice. The Maiden did her ritualistic poses and dances once more as runes began to circle around her. "MACALGE!" From the Seraphim's rear was a gate of hell, which jumped a bloodthirsty Mistress Hecate. The demoness grabbed the Seraphim's rings and wings, tearing them apart. This caused the celestial being to wail in suffering and pain. Velvet splashes were everywhere as Hecate massacred the angel. After the brutal dismemberment of the Seraphim that fell and laid on the war-torn streets of Windstrew, the demoness returned to its portal. Tenebrosia jumped from the building, and as soon as she did, it laughed. "MY LIFE MEANS LITTLE. FOOLISH WITCH, YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE YOUR FATE! TENEBROSIA WRITOS, MAY YOU BE BLESSED IN THE FINAL STEPS OF YOUR JOURNEY!" The Seraphim wailed as a portal to Inferno appeared beneath its dying body as demonic hands grabbed the angel.

Tenebrosia reconsidered the words these angels have been saying so far. Her fate. Her purpose. The Maiden pondered before her eyes once more focused on the spire of Windstrew's palace. There still sits Taralon as the black mist begins to envelop the tower she stood at. The eclipse began to change as the ambience became heavier, it seems. Tenebrosia felt something familiar tingling within the soles of her heels: magic beneath the soil itself. She felt uncertain more than being afraid. Gritting her teeth, she soon saw how the battlefield was getting redder; the atmosphere went from a hue of orange to a scene where blood has physically integrated within reality. Suddenly, large cracks appeared beneath the Maiden's feet, and soon, at the distance, the cracks began to shatter and terraform the entire streets to the very foundations of Windstrew itself. As the crack beneath Tenebrosia began to form into a chasm, the Maiden jumped and landed on a tower.

She was right in her assessment. That familiar shock at her heels was the very same thing that she felt back at the Graupelwind Plains. Purple tendrils came crawling from the fissures, and then erupted several tumors pulsating with the unchanging malevolent aura of whatever is inside them. Screams of the resistance were heard alongside extremely loud rubbles from the quakes. The palace levelled while other areas plummeted a few meters deeper as the city became more chaotic.

THIS IS MY DOMINION NOW, MY SORCERESS. THE TIME IS NIGH.

Taralon's voice rang inside Tenebrosia's head. In a flash, the levelled areas had its tall edifices crumbled as large pieces of debris began to fall from above. The Signora continued to stand at the balcony of the palace's spire. She began taunting Tenebrosia with a wicked smile. The palace was only ahead of Tenebrosia, and wasting no time, the Maiden began to lunge debris from debris straight ahead. It formed a bridge-like pattern leading to Taralon.

As Tenebrosia made the final step, she summoned Chateau Scapegrace and was covered with a purple wrath of flames, intending to finally end the life of her tormentor.
