"Oh! Ohhh!" Both Vanessa and Tristan had frozen at the first, accidental brush of their lips but the spell shattered at Nonni's thoroughly amused voice. Without giving them a chance to recover, she continued, "You two! It is broad daylight!"
Both of them jerked apart as though they'd been struck by lightning. Tristan straightened so quickly he nearly lost his balance for a second time, while Vanessa's cheeks burned a deep shade of crimson. Dam* it! What kind of a situation was this?
She turned to look at Nonni was now stood in the doorway with her hands planted firmly on her hips, trying, and failing, to look scandalized.
"I am seriously beginning to wonder if I should forget all traditions and simply move you two into the same room," Nonni declared with an exaggerated sigh. "You both seem completely incapable of keeping your hands to yourselves."
