Alan and Gwen returned home together. Alan walked with her all the way to her house.
When they arrived, Gwen's mother opened the door.
"Thank you for taking Gwen out," Mrs. Stacy said with a smile.
"It was nothing, Mrs. Stacy," Alan replied.
Gwen waved at him. "Good night, Alan."
"Good night, Gwen."
After talking with Mrs. Stacy for a few more minutes, Alan said goodbye and headed back to his apartment.
Shortly after returning home, he sat on the sofa and waited quietly.
A few minutes later, he felt the location of Four Arms through their connection. The undead was standing right outside his door.
Alan got up and opened it.
The giant undead bent down and carefully entered the apartment through the doorway.
"Welcome back," Alan said jokingly.
Four Arms, as always, gave no reply.
Alan looked at the clock.
It was already eleven at night.
The daily reset of the Card Drawing System would happen soon.
So he sat down and waited.
After some time, a familiar screen appeared in front of him.
[Daily Reset Complete.]
[Free Draw Available.]
Alan immediately sat up straight.
"Let's see what I get today."
He quickly used his free draw.
The machine on the screen began to spin. A few moments later, three cards appeared before him.
"Three cards?" Alan's eyes widened. "Looks like I'm lucky today."
He quickly checked the cards one by one.
The first card was:
[The Land of Death]
A terrain and skill card.
After reading the description, Alan learned that it contained a special space where he could store his undead. The space would grow larger as his skill level increased. It could also help his undead recover from injuries and slowly become stronger over time.
"That's a really useful card," Alan said with a nod.
The second card was:
[World Travel Card]
A card that allowed him to travel to another world.
Alan stared at it for a few seconds.
"Another world? That's a little crazy."
Even though he was surprised, he carefully stored the card away for later.
Then he looked at the final card.
[Daily Earners Bank Card]
A special bank card that received one thousand dollars every day. The money could stack up if it wasn't used. According to the description, all of the money was completely legal and would not cause any problems.
Alan blinked twice before reading it again.
"Wait... you're telling me I get free money every day?"
For the first time that night, Alan felt that this card might be even better than the others.
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
"Looks like I won't have to worry about money anymore."
After collecting his cards, Alan stored Four Arms inside the Land of Death. It was much safer than leaving such a huge undead out in the open.
With everything taken care of, Alan decided to meditate instead of sleeping. According to the knowledge he had gained from becoming a Necromancer, meditation could replace sleep and also slowly increase his strength.
Although his body had already become stronger after changing his class, there was no such thing as having too much power.
Like this, the whole night passed.
Soon, morning arrived.
Alan slowly opened his eyes and ended his meditation.
The first thing he did was take a bath. After that, he went to the kitchen and prepared a simple breakfast.
Just as he finished eating, a knock came from the door.
Alan glanced at the time, quickly finished the last few bites, grabbed his college bag, and walked to the door.
"I bet that's Gwen," he said.
When he opened the door, he found Gwen standing outside.
"Hey, Gwen. How are you doing?" Alan asked.
Gwen smiled.
"All good. And thanks again for yesterday's birthday treat."
"No problem," Alan replied.
He checked the time on his phone and immediately stood up straighter.
"We should get going. If we're late, we'll miss the university bus."
Gwen nodded.
"Let's go."
The two of them went downstairs and left the building.
After a short walk, they reached the bus station where the university bus usually stopped.
A few minutes later, Alan noticed two familiar faces standing there.
One was Peter Parker, the future friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Just like always, he was dressed simply and carried himself like an ordinary student.
Standing beside him was his best friend, Ned.
When Gwen saw them, she waved her hand.
"Peter!"
Peter looked over and smiled.
"Morning, Gwen."
Ned also waved.
"Hey!"
After they got closer, Gwen began introducing everyone.
"Peter, Ned, this is Alan."
Then she looked at Alan.
"Alan, these are Peter Parker and Ned Leeds."
Alan nodded.
"Nice to meet you both."
"You too," Peter replied.
"Anyone who's friends with Gwen can't be that bad," Ned joked.
Alan laughed.
"I'll take that as a compliment."
Soon after, Gwen and Peter started talking about their internship at Oscorp.
The two of them quickly moved into topics about science, experiments, and research.
Ned looked confused.
Alan looked even more confused.
"What are they talking about?" Alan whispered.
"No idea," Ned whispered back.
The two exchanged a look before silently nodding to each other.
At least they weren't alone.
A few minutes later, the university bus arrived right on time.
The group boarded the bus together.
Alan and Gwen sat beside each other, while Peter and Ned took the seats directly across from them.
As the bus started moving, the four of them continued talking while heading toward the high school.
