Annalyn POV
I closed the door behind me and stood in the middle of my room for a moment without moving.
No one needed anything from me right now. No conversation was waiting. No decision required an immediate answer. The room was quiet in the particular way rooms go quiet when you are finally alone in them after a very long time of not being alone, and I let myself just stand there and feel the full weight of that.
Then I sat on the floor.
Not the bed. The floor, cross-legged, the way Dalisay had first taught me, and I closed my eyes and reached inward.
The interior landscape was completely different from every other time I had come here.
