~Ghost/Camila POV~
The power did not appreciate the new direction.
That was the most accurate way I could describe what happened in the hours after my conversation with Camila. I had made a decision, clear and deliberate, that I was done adding to what I had already done, and the power responded to that decision the way it responded to every attempt at restraint, with pressure, with the specific insistence of something that had been given full range for weeks and was not interested in a reduced territory.
I walked through the outer woods in the early morning and I held the boundary I had set and the effort of holding it was significant.
A wolf came through the tree line to my left. Young, moving fast, part of whatever faction had pushed this far from the main battle lines. The power went for it immediately, automatic as breathing, the way it had been going for things since the beginning.
I pulled it back.
