~Ghost/Camila POV~
The power had been manageable once.
That was the word I kept returning to. Manageable. There had been a period, in the first days after I stepped into this body, where I could feel the current and hold it, aim it, release it with something close to intention. That period had passed. What I had now was proximity to something enormous that occasionally let me suggest a direction.
The two wolves found me near the northern ridge at midmorning.
They were young, moving in a patrol pattern that told me they had not been doing this long enough to read the signs correctly. They came through the tree line and stopped when they saw me, and the older of the two put his hand out to stop the younger from advancing.
"Identify yourself," he said.
"You already know who this face belongs to," I said.
