"A barbecue?"
Ye Kuo stopped in his tracks. He glanced at the grill in the courtyard, his leopard ears twitching slightly. "Perfect timing. The Female Master's fox's rain has stopped."
"So soon?" Jiang Xinli turned her head and stared, stunned, at the courtyard, which was now bathed in sunlight without a single drop of rain in sight.
'This rain came on so suddenly, and it's leaving just as quickly...'
"That rain just now… it wasn't only falling in our courtyard, was it?" A flicker of doubt crossed Jiang Xinli's eyes. She stepped back into the yard and walked toward the main gate.
Ye Kuo, holding the clothes he had used to shield her from the rain, strode after her with his muscular upper body bare.
She opened the gate. Seeing the dust-covered, dry road outside, Jiang Xinli stomped her foot in anger.
"So, it wasn't some romantic fox's rain. It was that damn venomous snake causing trouble."
