Chapter 27 - School: part 1

Every student was transported home using the School of Pearls' special vehicles. After spending a day with their families and gathering everything they needed, the students boarded the same vehicles and returned to the academy.

Today marked the beginning of Nate's school life.

At precisely seven o'clock in the morning, his dorm mates woke him up and hurried him through his morning routine. After quickly washing up, Nate put on his school uniform and prepared for his first day of classes.

The uniforms at the School of Pearls varied depending on the course in which a student was enrolled. While there were many designs and styles, the uniforms were generally divided into two primary colors: white and black.

White uniforms were given to students who had passed the school's entrance examination.

Black uniforms were assigned to students who had failed the examination and were placed into guided educational programs designed by the school.

Despite the distinction in colors, both students and parents greatly appreciated the system. The uniforms were beautifully designed, and neither color was considered superior to the other. The school believed that every student possessed unique talents, and the uniforms reflected that philosophy.

Dressed and ready, Nate slung his backpack over his shoulder and headed toward the Great Dining Hall for breakfast.

His backpack contained only a single white notebook and a pen.

There were no textbooks inside.

This was because the School of Pearls provided all necessary textbooks in the classrooms themselves. Every student's desk would already contain the books required for that day's lessons. The notebook Nate carried had also been provided by the school and was intended for personal notes and assignments.

The academic district of the school consisted of four massive educational buildings surrounding the main central block.

The front-right and front-left buildings were reserved for first-year through third-year students.

Meanwhile, the back-right and back-left buildings housed fourth-year through seventh-year students.

To graduate from the School of Pearls, a student was required to complete all seven years of study.

A graduation certificate from the academy was regarded as one of the most prestigious qualifications in the multiverse. Possessing one was enough to open countless opportunities throughout the Space Government and beyond.

However, the greatest rewards were reserved for the top ten graduates of each graduating class.

Students who graduated within the top ten could request nearly anything from the school.

Whether it was financial support, a government position, advanced training, specialized equipment, or assistance in pursuing their dreams, the School of Pearls would do everything within its power to help them succeed.

The academy also maintained the positions of Head Boy and Head Girl.

Traditionally, these positions were held by seventh-year students. Every year, students from all grades were allowed to participate in a special examination to compete for these prestigious titles.

Naturally, some people wondered what would happen if a first-year student managed to outperform everyone else and earn the position.

The answer remained unknown.

In the entire history of the School of Pearls, no first-year student had ever become a Head Boy or Head Girl.

As these thoughts passed through the minds of many students, Nate sat in the Great Dining Hall, quietly eating his toast.

Around him, conversations filled the air.

"Hey, which building are you taking your first class in today?"

"Do you know what our first lesson is?"

"We should skip class and go explore the training grounds!"

Nate listened to the chatter while finishing his breakfast.

Once he was done, he placed his tray onto the used-tray stack and left the dining hall.

As soon as he stepped outside, a translucent orange screen appeared before him.

The screen originated from the wristband attached to his uniform.

Every student received one.

The wristband served multiple purposes. It functioned as an identification device, a communication tool, a campus map, and a personal guide.

With a simple touch, students could view their schedules, locate classrooms, receive school announcements, and navigate the enormous campus without getting lost.

Nate tapped the screen and watched as his schedule for the day appeared before him.

His very first class at the School of Pearls was about to begin.
