"I'll come by again in three days."
Kitazawa gently turned Konan toward him, trying to reassure her. "Don't worry too much. Nothing will happen."
"Mm."
Konan nodded.
He had told her similar things many times already.
Now, all she could do was believe him.
"Did you bring new clothes today?"
Konan looked up at him.
It was clearly a hint.
"I brought a kimono for you," Kitazawa said after a brief glance at the time.
"Help me put it on."
Konan took off her clothes as she spoke.
She opened her arms and stood naked in front of him.
Kitazawa's gaze swept over her plump skin. He forced down his lust and took out the kimono he'd bought.
Soon, the black fabric settled over Konan's figure.
It wasn't a traditional kimono, but an off-the-shoulder style with bandages wrapped underneath.
Kitazawa had chosen it because it looked very similar to a Konan costume from a Naruto mobile game in his previous life—Wandering Ronin.
"Thank you. It looks very good."
Konan glanced at herself from side to side.
Cold as her personality was, she was still a woman, and she liked beautiful clothes.
This kimono matched her taste perfectly.
The only problem was that it was far too sexy—something only Kitazawa could see.
Kitazawa reached out and replaced the paper flower in her hair with a red one.
He took a moment to look her over and couldn't help but nod.
Now she looked even closer to the Wandering Ronin image in his memory.
His gaze dropped to the bandages below her neck.
They wrapped around her body, front and back, yet left plenty of skin exposed. The contrast made her seem both dignified and aloof.
Kitazawa lowered his head and buried his face against the bandages on her chest.
Warmth and softness enveloped him at once.
Konan immediately raised her hands to hold his head in place.
Feeling the hot breath he exhaled against her chest, a gentle warmth spread through her heart.
"Konan."
Kitazawa raised his hand, licked the corner of his lips, and looked at her flushed face.
Konan snapped back to herself and turned around.
She placed both hands on the windowsill.
Her snow-white neck tilted slightly as she arched her back like a drawn bow.
In that position, the hem of the kimono fell away, outlining the curve of her ass.
A second later, her body trembled, and her rosy lips parted.
She stared at the endless curtain of rain before her, feeling like a flower in a storm, washed through again and again.
Amid the sound of the rainfall, a soft moan escaped her, revealing her inner satisfaction.
No one knew how much time had passed before her strength finally left her and she slumped onto the sofa.
She raised her gaze toward the ceiling, her eyes unfocused.
Konan closed her eyes and slowly laid a hand over her lower abdomen.
Three days passed in a blink.
It was another rainy day.
Konan ascended the high tower and stood before Pain.
"Is something the matter?" Pain asked first when he saw her.
With the attack on Konoha drawing near, he couldn't allow any unexpected variables.
"I just received a letter from Konoha," Konan replied.
"A letter from Konoha? What does it say?" Pain asked, a faint trace of surprise in his voice.
"The Sixth Hokage of Konoha, Kitazawa, wants to meet you."
Konan paused, then added, "He says he's waiting for you alone in the Desert of Evil in the Land of Wind."
"What does this mean?"
Pain let out a cold snort. "It's a bit too late to think about begging for mercy now."
"It probably isn't begging for mercy."
Konan shook her head, then asked again, "Are you going?"
"Since he sent an invitation, I will naturally go," Pain replied without hesitation.
"I'll go ahead first and check if there are any traps," Konan said after a moment of thought.
"No need. I'll just send the Six Paths of Pain," Deva Path Pain answered. "If you were captured, it would affect our operations."
"Very well." Konan nodded. "Then I'll protect your main body."
The Six Paths of Pain could be controlled remotely, but only within a certain range.
Nagato definitely couldn't control them from Amegakure all the way to the Land of Wind.
His real body would have to move to the Land of Wind.
"I think we should keep this from that Madara," Konan added.
In the original story, she had never trusted Obito.
Now that this involved Kitazawa and Nagato, she especially didn't want him coming to stir up trouble.
"I have no interest in telling him," Pain said indifferently.
Since he had said he would go alone, he wouldn't go back on his word.
"I'll go reply to the letter now," Konan said after a brief silence. "I'll tell Kitazawa to be at the Desert of Evil in the Land of Wind at nine tomorrow morning."
Pain gave a slight nod.
Konan turned and left.
Back in her room, she saw Kitazawa sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Nagato agreed to meet you," Konan said directly. "At nine tomorrow morning."
"I understand. I'll be there early." Kitazawa stood and walked over to her.
"Be careful," Konan said at last, after a brief hesitation.
"Just wait to join the Anbu," Kitazawa said with a smile, pulling her into his arms.
Konan didn't answer. She simply held him.
A few minutes later, Kitazawa let her go.
He kissed her forehead, said his goodbyes, and returned to the Hokage's Office.
Sitting in the Hokage's chair, Kitazawa began to calculate.
He knew Nagato's strength very well.
But because of him, Nagato's legs had been healed, so his power would definitely be somewhat higher than before.
However, the increase was limited.
At Nagato's level, the only real factor that could change his strength was chakra.
In the original story, Edo Tensei Nagato had infinite chakra, which was why he could erupt with such overwhelming power.
Whether his legs worked or not had nothing to do with chakra.
The only thing Kitazawa truly needed to watch out for was the Gedo Statue.
After absorbing seven tailed beasts, its strength would be far from ordinary.
Kitazawa's chakra naturally couldn't compare to that of all the seven-tailed beasts combined with Gedo statue.
But he had a countermeasure: the Yin Seal.
Ever since obtaining the Dragon Vein, he had been constantly pouring chakra into the Yin Seal.
By now, the stored chakra was quite substantial—enough for him to spend freely.
[Current Mission: Defeat Nagato.]
[Mission Reward: Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan evolves into Rinnegan.]
[Accept?]
Looking at the three lines of text that suddenly appeared, Kitazawa couldn't help but smile.
It seemed this battle was unavoidable.
After all, the mission reward this time was the Rinnegan.
Under normal circumstances, evolving the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan into the Rinnegan would be extremely difficult.
Because the Rinnegan depended too heavily on bloodline.
Without the chakra of Ashura or Indra, it was simply impossible to awaken the Rinnegan.
Kitazawa glanced at the sky outside the window, rose to his feet, and vanished from sight.
Konoha Casino.
No matter the time, the place was always packed with guests.
Scanning the bustling hall, Kitazawa soon spotted Tsunade seated in front of a slot machine.
He walked over.
"Damn it!"
Tsunade stared at the symbols that had stopped on the reels, clenched her fist, and slammed it against the machine.
"If you break that, you'll have to pay for it," Kitazawa said with a smile.
"How could it break that easily?" Tsunade retorted without looking back. "Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be working?"
"I've already finished, Tsunade-sensei."
Kitazawa sat down beside her and casually rested his hand on her thigh.
"So soon?" Tsunade was briefly taken aback.
"You're so into gambling you've lost track of time," Kitazawa said, shaking his head. "It's time to go home, Tsunade-sensei."
"Fine." Tsunade exhaled and muttered, "My luck's terrible today anyway. I'll come back tomorrow."
Kitazawa stood, took her hand, and activated the Flying Thunder God.
An instant later, they were back home.
"Kurenai's not back yet?" Tsunade glanced around the room, then dropped onto the sofa.
The couch jolted under her, her round hips sinking deep into the cushions.
"No," Kitazawa replied. "She's been busy filming a movie lately. Sometimes she comes back pretty late."
He stepped forward and, without ceremony, buried his face in Tsunade's chest.
Her skin pressed against his cheeks, soft and warm.
"Now that Kurenai's not here, you dare take advantage of me?" Tsunade asked, tapping him lightly on the head.
"If she were here, and you allowed it, I'd still take advantage of you," Kitazawa said, blinking up at her.
"You certainly dare to think big." Tsunade gave him a half-hearted kick, but didn't push him away.
"The Akatsuki will attack Konoha in two days," Kitazawa said, changing the subject to more serious matters.
"In two days?" Tsunade's expression hardened. "If you need anything, just call me."
"Mhm." Kitazawa hummed his agreement.
Feeling the warmth against her chest, Tsunade could only shake her head.
Even at a time like this, he was still so improper.
"Once this crisis is over, I'll go have a talk with Kurenai," Tsunade said, reaching out to gently stroke his head.
"Really?" Kitazawa instinctively looked up at her.
From this angle, all he could see was the smooth line of her slender neck.
"Hmph, you're getting quite the bargain," Tsunade snorted, pushing him away. "I'm hungry. Go cook."
"Yes, Tsunade-sensei!" Kitazawa answered at once. "I'll go buy roast chicken and the best wine right now!"
Tsunade rolled her eyes at him.
This guy really was pragmatic.
Kitazawa chuckled, leaned in, and pressed his lips to her soft ones.
At the same time, his hands moved to ease the tightness of her clothes.
Tsunade let out a muffled groan, enduring the tingling that ran through her body. After giving him a thorough lesson with her tongue, she kicked him out.
A new day.
Eight-thirty in the morning.
Desert of Evil, Land of Wind.
Kitazawa stood atop the sand and activated his Byakugan.
Before long, he located Nagato and Konan.
They were in an oasis.
A moment later, Nagato directed the Six Paths of Pain to move toward him.
Kitazawa wasn't surprised.
He closed his eyes and used Kagura's Mind's Eye.
His detection range spread outward once more.
After confirming there were no White Zetsu or Obito nearby, he opened his eyes again.
It seemed Nagato really hadn't informed them.
Kitazawa stood his ground and waited.
The howl of rushing wind cut through the air.
One after another, the Six Paths of Pain descended around him, forming a loose circle.
"Kitazawa."
Pain stepped forward slightly. "What did you want to talk about, asking for this meeting?"
"The truth."
Kitazawa smiled. "For example—where those Rinnegan of yours really came from."
"My Rinnegan awakened naturally."
Deva Path's voice turned cold. "If you called me here just to talk about this, then we have nothing more to discuss. This ends here."
