The differently-colored wall, created by her new magic, was tougher than anything she had forged with her Teigu.
A different world meant a different energy system.
The Empire's Teigu were strong, but fundamentally inferior to a world that could birth dragon gods like in Fairy Tail.
If not for Kikyo's interference,
Erza might have killed her in that fight.

Esdeath became obsessed with her new powers.

This classified them as a temporary squad.
They would remain a team until the quest was completed or someone left.
