While the trio was climbing down, Michelle looked down and spotted light coming from the right side. "There's a room on the right," she said. "It won't be long."
When the trio was near the ground, they got off the wall before landing on it. Doey placed Michelle and Yarnaby on the ground before the dough arms retracted inside him, while Katelynn placed Huggy Wuggy on the ground and unwrapped her tail.
CatNap let go of Mommy Long Legs before the group approached the opening. Soon after, the group was in a room with two power cells mounted on the wall and two tanks with missing levers: one on the right with red lines near the top, and one on the left with green lines near the bottom.
The group heard static coming from Glowby, which made them look at it. "Yeah, that's what I heard. Gas; mining charges... Poppy was gonna burn the whole place down," Giblet said.
"If not for Misha's quick thinking, the residents within Safe Haven would've been lost too..." DogDay said.
Michelle stared at Glowby. "Poppy's heart is in the right place, but... man, that girl's been behind glass too long," Giblet continued before sighing. "Well... she doesn't know what happened to them. And I'm not gonna be the one to tell her."
Michelle crossed her arms. This solidifies that the Prototype did something to the orphans... which begs the question: what did he do to them? she thought before looking down. I just hope they aren't dead...
"And I don't mean to make this offensive, but... you guys know how Doey is; I told him it was safer down in Recycling, and lo and behold, I was right," Giblet said.
After Glowby went silent, Michelle looked at Doey. "That was the area near Giblet's hideout, right?" she asked.
Doey nodded. "It was... while I could see it as an ideal base, we were still close to the Prototype, and that was something I didn't want to risk for the smaller toys," he said. "That's why I believed Safe Haven was a better fit."
Doey looked down with a slight frown. "But I guess nowhere is safe now..." he said, lowly.
Michelle frowned a bit before approaching Doey and holding his right hand in both of hers, which made him look at her. "We still have Safe Haven's people and each other, right? That's pretty much everything we need to feel safe," she said.
Doey stared at Michelle before smiling. "Thanks for that," he said, which made her smile.
After Michelle let go of Doey's hand, she looked at the cables connected to the power cells. "This might take a bit, so you guys use this time to take a breather while I deal with the power cells," she said before aiming her left arm at the lower.
As the blue hand shot from Michelle's wrist and grabbed the power cell's handle, Katelynn looked behind the group and noticed an open elevator shaft and a green light above it, which surprised her.
Michelle aimed her right arm at the green handprint before the Pressure Hand shot from her wrist. When the Pressure Hand touched the green handprint, the pressure gauge started going up.
When the pressure gauge was in the red, Michelle retracted the Pressure Hand, pushing the Red Smoke inside the tank to the top, which lit the cable and turned the light on the lower power cell before it started going down quickly.
As Michelle kept pushing the Red Smoke inside the tank with the Pressure Hand, Katelynn approached the opening.
When Katelynn was close to the opening, she looked down and spotted an elevator at the bottom. "Maybe there's something hidden in here..." she said, lowly, before jumping down.
As Katelynn landed on the elevator with a loud thud, most of the group looked at the opening. Katelynn looked at the gap and spotted a green battery before stretching toward it and grabbing the handle.
Doey approached the opening and looked at Katelynn. "What are you doing, Katie?" he asked.
Katelynn retracted the arm holding the battery before looking at Doey and holding it up. "I found this at the bottom of this elevator shaft," she said before stretching it toward him.
Doey grabbed the battery from Katelynn's hand with his right hand before she grabbed the ground. "Nice find, Katie," he said as she pulled herself up.
After Katelynn stood up, Doey looked at her. "How about we find out where this battery goes?" he asked.
Katelynn smiled and wagged her tail a bit before giving Doey a thumbs-up. "Sounds good!" she shouted, which made him chuckle.
While Michelle was pulling the power cell and pushing the Red Smoke inside the tank with the Pressure Hand, she turned her head to the duo as they walked toward the right, smiling, which made her smile.
Soon after, the power cell locked in place, which made Michelle retract the blue hand back to her wrist. "One down, one to go," she said before aiming her left arm at the top power cell.
The blue hand shot from Michelle's wrist and grabbed the power cell's handle before she aimed her right arm at the tank.
As the Pressure Hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched the green handprint, the duo approached the blue door before Katelynn placed her hand on it.
As Katelynn opened the door, the duo spotted a battery socket. "That must be where the battery goes," Doey said before stretching his right arm toward it.
Doey placed the battery inside the socket, which opened the red door. Doey approached the opening before he spotted a note on the desk. "What's this?" he asked himself before picking it up.
As Doey read the note, Katelynn stuck her head out. "Did you find something?" she asked.
Doey remained silent and looked down before clenching the note a bit, which concerned Katelynn. "Doey?" she asked.
In the main room, the Red Smoke inside the tank quickly went below the green line, which annoyed Michelle a bit. "Come on, you son of a bitch, I was halfway done..." she said, lowly, as the Pressure Hand shot from her wrist.
The Pressure Hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched the green handprint before the pressure gauge went up. When the pressure gauge was in the yellow, Michelle retracted the Pressure Hand to her wrist, pushing the Red Smoke above the green lines.
When the Red Smoke was between the green lines, Michelle pulled the power cell before she kept repeating the process. Soon after, the power cell was inside the slot, which opened the elevator doors. "Now we can leave this place," Michelle said as she retracted the blue hand.
Soon after, the duo entered the main room, which made the group look at them. "Misha," Doey said.
Michelle looked at Doey as he held the paper up. "You have to see this," he continued.
Michelle nodded and approached Doey before she grabbed the note from his hand. As Michelle read the note, her eyes widened. "A note from a biologist named Doctor Preston Willard..." she said, lowly. "He tried to change things from the inside but failed."
The group looked at Michelle. "He believed the Prototype was a victim, but he realized too late that he was a monster..." she continued.
Michelle looked at the bottom of the page and noticed a list of names on it. "He wrote his own name on it, along with Leith, Eddie, the Doctor, and Dr. Bruno..." she said. "He really wanted to repent for what he did..."
Michelle folded the note before holding it out to Doey. "This is valuable information for us too," she continued.
Doey as he grabbed the note before it went inside him. Michelle looked at the elevator doors. "Time to get back to the others," she said.
The group nodded before they approached the elevator; after they entered, the doors closed behind them. As time passed, the elevator doors opened, revealing a pink room with magnetic panels above them.
As the group got out of the elevator, they heard static coming from Glowby. "Ew! What is that awful smell?" Bunzo Bunny asked.
"There's a lot of... candy wrappers around the ground," Miss Delight said.
"Yeah, sorry about that; I keep telling Chum that he should keep his place clean in case guests come by," Giblet said before they heard humming in the background. "I know, bud, I know, but we really need to work on that."
Michelle looked at the panels on the roof before aiming her right arm at it. The Pressure Hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched one of the panels before she pulled herself up. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask... how do you keep your fur so clean?" Giblet asked. "Asking for a friend."
As Glowby went silent, the group was climbing the wall while Michelle looked at the magnetic panels near the red door before aiming her left arm at it.
The blue hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched one of the panels before she pulled herself in that direction. When Michelle was close to the floor, she retracted the Pressure Hand to her wrist before letting go of the panel.
Michelle turned her head to the left and spotted a few vents before walking forward. After the group got on the upper floor, Michelle approached the third large vent before aiming her right arm at it.
The Pressure Hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched the vent grille. As the pressure gauge started going up, the bars on the vent grille started to bend.
When the pressure gauge was in the red, Michelle retracted the Pressure Hand to her wrist, destroying the vent grille in the process.
Michelle pressed the green button, turning the flashlight on, before the group crouched and entered the vent. The group spotted a few Outimals running away, which made Yarnaby growl a bit. "Easy, boy, easy..." Michelle said, lowly.
When Yarnaby stopped growling, the group continued crawling; Michelle looked at the lower part of the vent before jumping down.
After Michelle landed on the lower part of the vent, she crawled forward, which made the group follow. As Michelle turned left, she heard small growls coming from the vent. "Hey, don't you take that tone with me," Giblet said.
Michelle stared at the vent. We're close to them... she thought.
Michelle turned her head to the left and spotted an opening before approaching it. When Michelle was close to the opening, she looked down and spotted a vent grille below before jumping down.
After Michelle landed on the vent, it busted open, which made her land on the ground. As Michelle stood properly and looked around, she realized she was in the office room near the utility room. "We're back where we started," she said.
Michelle pressed the green button, turning the flashlight off, before walking forward. After the group got out of the vent, Michelle went through the opening; she turned her head to the left and saw the larger group. "Hey there, how'd it go?" Giblet asked.
Michelle smiled as her group caught up. "I think it was very successful," she said.
Doey approached Giblet and held his hand out before the large manila folder emerged from his hand. Doey knelt and held the folder out to Giblet. "You can consider us even now," he said.
Giblet grabbed the file and opened it. "Hell yeah, now we're getting somewhere," he said as he turned the pages.
The larger group looked at the file. "We're getting one step closer to this Negation Compound," Giblet continued.
Michelle crossed her arms. "Though from the looks of it, the Prototype doesn't want us to get our hands on it," she said. "The files say there's only one place where we can get it."
Giblet turned to the last page. "Inside a backup on IT," he said. "We can get there from the tram in Reanimation."
Giblet closed the file and looked at Chum Chompkins. "You can get us in there, right?" he asked.
Chum Chompkins quickly shook his head while humming, which shocked Giblet. "'No?' W-What are you talking about, 'no?' This is our chance!" he shouted.
Chum Chompkins quickly shook his head while making humming noises. "Well, we gotta try!" Giblet shouted. "Or are you just happier being the Prototype's errand boy, now?"
Chum Chompkins glared at Giblet, growling. "That's enough, Giblet," Michelle said sternly, which made the duo look at her. "It's his choice if he wants to join or not; you shouldn't force him to do something he doesn't want to do."
Giblet remained silent and looked down before sighing. "You're right..." he said, lowly, before looking at Chum Chompkins. "Look, I'm sorry; you help us out, and... we're even... I mean it."
Chum Chompkins was reluctant before nodding a bit. Katelynn placed her finger against her chin. "So, how do we get to Reanimation?" she asked.
Giblet was thinking. "Well, the gel lab's a mess right now. We could go up from the pit, but that's pretty risky..." he said.
Giblet remembered something. "We could also go through Sweet Street to—" he was interrupted when they heard metal clanking, which made their eyes widen. "Ah, shit...!"
Michelle looked around before looking at the office room and pointing at it. "Everyone go there, now!" she quietly shouted.
Most of the group nodded before they quickly entered the room. Before Michelle and Chum Chompkins followed, they heard the metal clanking get closer, which made her grit her teeth. "Shit, we won't make it to them on time..." she said, lowly.
Chum Chompkins quickly picked Michelle up, which surprised her, and he looked around in a panic before looking at her with worried eyes. Michelle looked at Chum Chompkins before realizing something and making her face pale. "Wait, are you gonna..." she said, lowly.
Chum Chompkins made worried humming noises and reluctantly nodded, which made Michelle shudder before shaking her head. "We don't have a choice," she continued before looking at him. "Do it."
Chum Chompkins nodded and opened his mouth, which made Michelle panic on the inside, before placing her inside his stomach.
After Chum Chompkins closed his mouth, Michelle was disgusted. Ew... this is so much worse than seeing someone's arms getting bitten off by a Thing... she thought.
As Michelle looked around, she started feeling calm. But despite what I'm seeing... it also feels weirdly calm... she thought.
Michelle heard metal clanking, which shocked her and made her look at the small gap in Chum Chompkins's mouth. Michelle noticed Red Smoke around the area. "I thought I'd find you... hiding... in here," the Prototype said.
Michelle froze and covered her mouth. The Prototype... she thought.
"My hunters... shall pursue the human and traitorous toys following her," the Prototype said. "But you... I need you to repair the security system."
Michelle stared at Chum Chompkins's mouth. "Make sure there are eyes... everywhere..." the Prototype continued as he got closer to him. "Then... find me Poppy. Before she does something she'll regret."
Michelle was shocked. The Prototype doesn't have them; that means they're still out there somewhere, she thought.
"Nothing is more important to you than this..." the Prototype said before walking away. "And you know the price... for failure."
As Michelle pulled her hand away from her mouth, she felt Chum Chompkins move, and the surrounding area was getting darker. We'll need to get to Poppy and Kissy first before that bastard gets his claws on them; I just hope they aren't harmed... she thought until her vision was completely black.
