Axel looked at Commander Luke before speaking in a calm but serious tone.
"Sir, the only thing I can do right now is explain to the tech team exactly how to dismantle the Earthshaker. I also think Captain Lucian and Jayvaughn should stay for the briefing. If the tech team makes a mistake during the operation, at least the two of them will know the correct procedure and be able to step in before anything goes wrong."
Although his words sounded reasonable, they carried another meaning that only Axel understood.
He simply did not trust the military's tech team. As far as he was concerned, there was a real chance they could make a mistake that would ruin the entire operation.
Fortunately, Commander Luke interpreted Axel's suggestion differently. Instead of taking it as an insult toward his team, he saw it as a sensible precaution.
He nodded without hesitation. "You're right. That makes perfect sense. Go ahead and brief everyone."
