Chapter 6 - Chapter 14- Unnatural Synergy

Just as An Mo was about to drown in this thick barrel of honey, he quickly snapped back to his senses upon feeling Xai Lin's finger wantonly sliding up and down his neck and chest.

"E-Enough!"

An Mo hurriedly used his wings to bat away Xai Lin's wondering finger.

Xai Lin chuckled but honestly retrieved her finger. Just like his skin, this brat's feathers were extremely enjoyable to touch.

After calming down, An Mo brought them back on topic.

"Why did you ask about my origins? Is because you also found those beast younglings actions strange as well?"

Xai Lin nodded.

"Yeah, I suspect that rather than a Spirit Beast that has the bloodline of two Mythical Divine Beasts, you're actually the offspring of a Three-legged Divine Crow and a Divine Black Tortoise."

An Mo's little beak and golden eyes went wide with surprise, but a moment later he paused and began hesitating.

Not realizing An Mo's hesitation, Xai Lin continued.

"This can explain why your bloodline is so absurdly pure. You're a genuine Divine Beast!"

Even though she had already made this speculation previously, actually voicing now still made Xai Lin feel a bit of shock. She could not help but look over An Mo, who was perched on her forearm. After all, this was a genuine Mythical Divine Beast from legends!

Several hundred thousand years ago, the Human Realm was dominated by Divine Beasts, with only a few cultivators who were considered an era's genius being able to compete with them.

However, the Heavens are ruthless. Even though it bestowed these Divine Creature with unparallel talent and wisdom, it also gave them an extremely weak reproductive constitution. So, as the long river of time flowed, their numbers continued to decrease bit by bit until pureblooded Divine Beast almost became extinct.

Perhaps out of desperation from their bloodline being severed, the few that remain resorted to mating with those "lowly beasts" they had once looked down upon. That's how Spirit Beasts that has traces of Divine Beasts bloodline came about.

Even while Xai Lin had been collecting beast blood for her Heavenly Transformation Technique, she had only been able to get her hands on a few diluted bloods of those Divine Beasts. With that said, those diluted drops of Divine Beast blood were far more precious than the Spirit Beasts that have a trace of their bloodlines.

Also, one should know that even the protagonists in the book she read had only ever had beasts' companions that had bloodlines that were a bit purer than average Spirit Beasts.

As for that one Yao Beast protagonist, she recalled that his dragon race bloodline had only ever reached forty percent before he ascended to Immortality as Yao Race Immortal.

Given all of this, the fact that a truly pure-blooded Divine Beast was perched on her forearm while conversing with her would shock anyone. And he wasn't even mentioning the fact that An Mo had two pure Divine Beast bloodlines!

Seeing how Xai Lin gaze was becoming brighter and brighter, An Mo wonder if she would faint from shock if he revealed the fact that he not only had two Divine Beast bloodline, but four…

It was because of this that he hesitated to believe that his parents were merely pure blooded Three-legged Divine Crow, and a Divine Black Tortoise. If that was so, where did the other two bloodlines come from?

Actually, An Mo had doubts as to whether he had parents to begin with. As for how he had come to be without being conceived, forget it, he was not smart enough to figure that out.

Now, the only dilemma was how he should break this news to Xai Lin. He couldn't very well keep it from her forever.

As Xai Lin was muttering under her breath about how extraordinary his existence was, An Mo finally made up his mind. He would tell Xai Lin about his other bloodlines.

Even if she got angry because he hid the reason why her Heavenly Transformation Technique couldn't obtain his bloodline, he would just coax her. As for how he would go about coaxing her, he would just transform into his Human Form and allow her to touch him all she wanted.

Don't think that just because he was scared at the time that he hadn't noticed her fingers were rubbing waist, and even made a move to touch his small, perky butt. Why else would he feel justified in biting her ear?

Ehem… It was just that he got too carried away.

From her furtive gazes she kept casting his way, to just now when she was using her finger to ruffle his smooth baby feathers on his chest, was it not obvious she was coveting his body?!

It's just that he had previously thought she wanted to eat him. Now he figured Xai Lin just didn't considered him a man, or even a living, breathing creature, but merely a cute, brainless thing that's good to look at and touch.

Look! Look! Even while muttering incomprehensible words in a trance, she was still reaching out to rub his smooth black feathers!

An Mo mind jumped from one thought to another, his imagination color and resplendent.

With a huff, he swatted Xai Lin's wandering hand away before saying.

"Xai Lin, I know that you're worried about the implications of me being sealed here, that's why you wanted to know about my origins. However, you don't need to be too worried. I was only trapped here because I would wander into the territory of those mean older brothers and sisters in the higher dimensions and scare off their followers."

Xai Lin snapped out of her thoughts, and looked at An Mo. He could almost picture him cutely pouting his small lips, as he said this.

Xai Lin had an impulse, which she immediately acted on. Lifting her hand, she began ruffling An Mo's baby feathers once again as she said.

"Hm. I initially thought you were being sealed here by those existences in the higher dimension because of your origins. Turns out, it's because you were causing trouble for them."

An Mo couldn't be bothered to stop Xai Lin's brazen actions anymore; he just noted it down in his mind to fulfill his curiosity in the future. After all, he had only seen her wash board-like chest, which wasn't that interesting.

Huffing for a second and An Mo said begrudgingly.

"It's not my fault those adult Demonic Beasts are scared of a little old me!"

Xai Lin chuckled when she heard that. She was a bit curious about where An Mo learned his colorful vocabulary. His cursing was especially vast and varied, not like an isolated Spirit Beast.

"Since that's the case, getting you out wouldn't ruin some old thing's big plans, and cause any future problems. But the problem of getting you out of here still stands. I can't sense that seal, but I can guess with my big toe that it's not something you or I can break with our current methods."

An Mo nodded.

"Yeah. It specifically targets my bloodline, so I'm the only one it's affecting."

An Mo paused here, then added.

"I've always been thinking of a way to leave this place, but I've never been able to find away. Not until you told me you cultivated the Heaven and Earth Scripture."

An Mo looked up at Xai Lin, his golden eyes shining brightly.

Xai Lin raised her eyebrows slightly.

"What do you have in mind?"

"He-he…"

An Mo giggled in a childish manner, before he jumped onto Xai Lin's shoulder and leaned close to whisper his plan into her ear.

Xai Lin ignored An Mo's beak "accidentally" brushing against her earlobe and put on a thoughtful expression as contemplating the feasibility of his plan.

Like this, the beautiful girl and the small crow walked further into the forest while discussing their first of my operations. They went back and further, exchanging ideas and fleshing out every aspect of the plan.

In this regard, the girl and boy had a rather unnatural synergy.
