Gary didn't care what the people around them were thinking. Hearing Jacob Smith speak to him so politely, he waved his hands again and again. "No, no, boss, you're too polite. If it weren't for Miss White throwing this banquet, I wouldn't even have had the chance to invite you here."
When Gary talked with Jacob Smith, of course they were using English. It didn't matter if some guests couldn't understand; weren't there plenty of bosses who'd brought their translators along as female companions?
Those people generously "lent out" their translators, so everyone around could follow the conversation.
"This is the host of tonight's banquet, Chloe White." As soon as Gary said that, the guests around them all had their own thoughts. It seemed Gary really did have a good relationship with Chloe White—he'd even introduced her name following Chinese customs.
"Hello, I'm Chloe White." Chloe walked gracefully up to Jacob Smith with a smile, extending her slender, delicate hand.
