We stood in front of a tall apartment, one where I used to dedicate my life to Alistair. I swallowed the uncomfortable lump on my throat and prayed this would be the last time I would ever set foot in this building.
It was not that I did not have beautiful memories living in the building. But this was also the place where everything turned dark in my life. Resentment grew before I knew it as the past me spiralled out of control.
"You sure you want this done tonight?" Edmund asked, grasping my sweaty palms.
I nodded slowly, not realising my feet were trembling despite the determination I carried. "I want to sleep peacefully tonight."
The cool air blew on us as soon as the door opened. The same faint fresh smell of flowers and classical music greeted us. A young security guard, big and bulky, stood from behind his table.
"Good evening. May I know which apartment you are visiting?" His voice measured.
