Edmund's POV
Jaws locked. Hands balled into bolted fists. In my desperation to break free, I failed to realise that Maisie was paying her full attention to me. Next thing I knew, I could feel the warmth emitting from the top of my hand. Like a spell, it was broken as soon as her fingers pried open the cutlery on my left hand.
With the great amount of energy stored, all the movement I had been wanting to do while body being quite the defiant, it all came crashing down. Literally.
I fell off my chair, pulling the plate full of food in front of me flying. Appetisers and pieces of shattered plate scattered all across the floor.
My elbow broke my fall, hitting the funny bone. My feet dangled in the air. I must have been badly disoriented because in a split second, Maisie and both of my parents suddenly popped up right in front of me.
"Are you alright?" Mum checked my head for injuries while Maisie provided support to stand up.
