The Last Fragment
"Repeat what you just said," Lucius said as his tone turned colder, even clenching his teeth tightly, as if he still couldn't process what Narcissa had just told him, feeling like maybe he had heard her wrong.
And Narcissa, without even changing her tone, without being bothered about repeating herself, said again:
"I want a divorce."
Lucius stayed completely silent for several seconds; the only sound was the grinding of his teeth while his gaze remained fixed on Narcissa, who looked back at him without emotion. A face Lucius knew very well, since for most of his marriage with Narcissa, this woman's expression had never changed.
Draco was standing beside Harry and Luciel watching this, but not even a trace of emotion showed on his face, which now looked almost identical to his mother's, even if his features were the same as his father's. Something Lucius could obviously feel as a response from both of them toward his return.
The silence stretched on for several more seconds, the family staring at each other. Only Selene seemed to be watching this with interest, and Harry believed that if it weren't for the place and the timing, she wouldn't have hesitated to have her usual bowl of popcorn while enjoying the show.
"Do you even understand what you're saying, woman?" Lucius finally said, breaking the silence while a massive bloodlust burst out of his body in waves, his now red eyes glowing dangerously, like a volcano on the verge of erupting.
"Yes," Narcissa replied without looking away.
"Hahahaha…"
A dry smile came out of Lucius's mouth, but his eyes didn't really seem to laugh along with it.
"Do you have any idea how hard I worked to give all of you everything you have now? The people I had to manipulate, kill. I had to bow my head before a filthy half blood! I had to devour the stomach of a damned demon just to come back! All my plans to turn our family into the undisputed rulers of the magical world. While I listened and watched the entire empire I created get destroyed by my own wife, who betrayed everything we believed in, and watched my son get linked in newspapers with a disgusting mudblood. Yes… yes, you people have no idea," Lucius said while slowly touching his face, almost losing control.
A reddish magical pulse burst out from his body, spreading slowly through the surroundings, making even Sirius and Armand, both with their wands in hand, turning toward Lucius as they stopped fighting.
"No. You have no idea," Lucius said while locking his gaze onto Narcissa again, who seemed calm without looking away from him. "That look… that disgusting look. After so many years married, it never changes, huh? Fine. Enough of this already. If that's your choice, then so be it. I can have another wife, with the purest blood, and as many children as necessary. I now have the power to do it. Power that even that disgusting half blood never possessed. No… even…," Lucius said before calmly raising one hand and snapping his fingers.
Then footsteps could be heard approaching from behind Lucius.
Among them was one especially familiar to Draco and Narcissa as well as Harry, because it was someone identical to Nymphadora Tonks's mother, Andromeda Tonks.
But there was something completely wrong with her.
Aside from her hair, which was a darker color, completely black, she had an almost crazed and bloodthirsty smile. Completely different from Andromeda's gentle smile.
"Hello, Cissy," she said with a smile that would've looked happy if not for the madness in her eyes.
Narcissa's expression almost cracked, but she kept her calm demeanor, as if she had already expected this.
"Bella," she said, recognizing her other sister, who was supposed to be dead together with several Azkaban prisoners.
But now, looking behind her, some of those dead people could be seen standing there.
"I see you're not as dead as I believed. And while I'd like to say I'm happy about that, it would be a lie," Narcissa said while looking at Bellatrix Lestrange, who smiled while holding what looked like a silver tray in one hand.
"We share the same feeling, disgusting blood traitor," Bellatrix said with complete hatred toward her sister.
But she was interrupted before she could continue.
"Shut up, Bella! And give it to me already! It should be ready to consume by now," Lucius said in an annoyed tone.
Bellatrix shut her mouth and walked toward Lucius carrying the silver tray in her hands, stopping right beside him before quickly placing her hands on the lid and opening it as if she were presenting food.
But the moment everyone saw what was inside, they couldn't help but frown in confusion, surprise, and at the same time disgust.
It was a sort of humanoid form, almost resembling a fetus, but far more disgusting.
It was completely wrinkled and covered in a viscous black and red liquid that resembled blood. And from the smell spreading through the air, that was exactly what it was.
The thing still seemed alive because it moved weakly, and its painful breathing could be heard with every exhale.
"Help…," the voice said, filled with lament and hatred.
The old Death Eaters behind Bella couldn't help slightly moving their heads in discomfort, though they still wore expressions of disgust on their faces. Even Bellatrix.
"Lucius…," that thing said again with complete hatred in its voice while never taking its eyes off him.
Lucius, ignoring its words, raised his hand and, as if it had become intangible, pushed it through the thing's head, causing it to begin roaring in pain.
Harry, Draco, and Luciel all made uncomfortable expressions watching that, while Selene locked her gaze onto that fetus, making her expression turn completely serious, just like Narcissa's.
"Oh, it seems you already recognized him," Lucius said with a dark smile. "Before all of you stands our former master. The one we served with flesh and blood, following every one of his commands as if he were a god. The man who would lead us toward the greatness of pure blood. Or at least… what remains of him. The last of his fragments," Lucius said with an icy voice.
"A former master who changed his mind? Also, the last one?" Selene asked sounding confused.
"That's because if someone is going to lead pure blood from now on, we can't trust a half blood, right Voldemort? Or should I call you Tom Riddle Jr.?" Lucius said as if it were the most normal thing in the world while his hand seemed to sink deeper into the thing's head as it roared in pain. "Come on, why don't you greet your muggle father, who's buried right here?" Lucius said while slightly stepping aside.
Right where a massive gravestone rested beneath the statue of an angel of death. On the gravestone, it could be read:
Tom Ryddle Sr.
"I'll kill you… Lucius…," Voldemort said with fury, though with little strength while his deformed body twisted in pain.
"Heh," Lucius laughed briefly at those words before looking toward Selene.
"And to answer your second question… it's because the others, in order to obtain everything he learned in life, his wisdom, dark spells, memories… everything… I ate them. Just like what will happen with the last fragment," Lucius said before bringing that disgusting thing to his mouth as if it were nothing.
And he opened his mouth, which seemed even larger than before, with sharp teeth that shifted into spike-like fangs.
And he bit into that thing's head, making it scream in pain.
But not for long.
Because in a single breath, as if he were tasting the greatest banquet of his life, he devoured every last piece, leaving his face and hands stained in black blood.
While everyone present couldn't help making expressions of complete disgust as they watched him.
But Lucius completely ignored the disgusted looks and simply raised his head with a smile of pure delight.
The Death Eaters present suddenly felt a slight burning sensation in their arms, causing them to pull back their sleeves and see how the Dark Mark, which long ago had begun fading until only a small trace remained, was now starting to strengthen more and more; darker, more alive.
As if it now answered to someone completely different.
Lucius came out of his moment of ecstasy before looking around once again.
"Now then. Everything is finally ready to begin the creation of a new world," he said with uncontrollable excitement before looking back toward Narcissa and the others. "It's a shame you won't get to see it," he said with sickening calm before turning toward his now subordinates. "Kill them. Leave not a single one alive before that witch arrives," he added almost with satisfaction.
