Through the darkness he activated his Shadow Sight so he could actually get a clear picture of who was in front of him.
She was not what he expected.
White hair slicked back and tied into a straight bun. Tall — almost at his eye level. Almost.
Purple eyes that looked at him the way people nine-to-fivers looked at paperwork. A bother.
They looked at each other across the room for a moment.
"Who are you?" He asked, one hand hovering over the belt where his gun was, the other forward in defence.
"That's not information you'll need." She said. "You'll be dead soon."
"Right." He nodded slowly. "And you're here to do that."
She raised the gun. He'd expected that.
He grabbed the muzzle.
BANG——
The shot went into the floor between them and neither of them let go.
She turned invisible.
He still didn't let go.
Which meant he was now in a shoving match with thin air. The gun was still there.
