Chloe's POV
I had never felt more certain about anything.
After talking with Brandon, something inside me finally settled. The weight of doubt eased, and a calm confidence took its place.
For the first time since arriving in London, I wasn't second-guessing myself. My mind was clear.
I wasn't wondering if this was a mistake. No lingering doubts clouded my thoughts.
I wasn't worrying whether Zoe would hate me. The fear no longer gnawed at my conscience.
I wasn't questioning whether stepping into her place was wrong. The moral ambiguity that haunted me began to fade.
I still carried the guilt. Deep, gnawing guilt that pressed down on me.
God, I carried enough guilt to drown in.
But Brandon's words gave me something I hadn't had in a long time. A spark of purpose ignited within.
Purpose.
I was doing this for Zoe. A mission fueled by her and only her.
Not for myself. Not for attention. Not for glory.
For her.
