Chapter 70 - Human Observer!

Raindrops hit the ground making dull sounds.

The usually lively courtyard was now empty, only rainwater gathering into streams on the ground, flowing ceaselessly.

Any open-air place was like this; only inside buildings could one eat safely.

Luke opened the back door of the classroom.

A noisy and fervent atmosphere appeared before him.

Students who usually ate in various places around the school were confined to the classroom due to the rain, but this didn't dampen their enthusiasm;

Some students from other classes eagerly joined this class, moving desks and chairs together in twos and threes to form larger tables, eating lunch together.

There were also guys fervently playing handheld games, shouting non-stop.

It seemed like this was necessary to make it feel more like a rainy day.

Returning to his seat, he placed the remaining three-quarters of the bread to the side of the table, eagerly taking out the horror manga from the drawer that contained everything except textbooks.

Without the interference of women.

This lunch break, he must finish the last chapter! Just do it!

His fingers gently rubbed open two pages of the manga, pausing in mid-air, his gaze sweeping over the girl on the horror manga cover who placed her lover's photo under her pillow, incidentally taking half a bite of chocolate spread and bread.

Comfortable.

"How can I understand if you talk like that? If you want to say something, say it clearly! Aren't we friends? Are you hiding something? That's not good, right?"

What sounded like arguing voices rang out somewhere in the classroom, adding the thunder that should also exist on a rainy day.

The classroom instantly fell silent, not just because of this 'argument', but also because the class's Flame Queen had issued a question, banging the table.

"S-sorry."

Facing the stuttering, bewildered Yuigahama, Miura Yumiko still didn't stop her questioning.

"So, I, said! I don't want to hear apologies, you should have something else you want to say, right?"

What's wrong with this idiot?

Didn't she herself arrange to have a girls' lunch chat meeting with Yukinoshita?

"Sigh." Luke sighed helplessly, put down the horror manga, placed the bread back into the plastic bag, pressing the excess plastic cover down to seal it...

Whenever one makes up their mind, accidents happen.

"Do you know what happened? Hikigaya-san." He asked the guy who was also casting his gaze over.

"Mm... Don't know." Hikigaya retracted his gaze slightly upon being noticed.

"Isn't your hobby human observation?" He said, slightly puzzled.

"..."

After a moment of silence, Hikigaya muttered softly: "How did you know?"

How did I know?

"On a certain sunny day of a certain month, when Totsuka-san brought up the topic of 'hobbies', you gave this answer."

"...I-is that so?"

And so Hikigaya also started stuttering, just like Hayama and the few boys around the erupting Miura, whose awkward gazes were fixed on the floor.

"If you want to help her, you better go now."

However, Hikigaya still offered a solution.

Facing the deadlock of friends arguing, it's definitely better to break it sooner...

"Why would I help her?" Luke asked puzzledly.

Hikigaya didn't quite understand: "Then why are you asking what happened?"

"Curious." He gave a concise answer.

At the same time, his gaze swept over the other classmates...

The passersby eating quietly, the disappeared handheld game group, Kawasaki retracting her gaze, the number two popular clique gathered together, the passersby quietly slipping away...

Wait, seems like an unusual presence got mixed in.

Pushing himself up with both hands on the desk, he walked over.

The flustered Kawasaki propped her cheek with her arm, eyes staring out the window, watching the raindrops sliding down from above.

Her thoughts, sensing someone approaching her, were just like this messy rainwater...

Her gaze constantly shifted back and forth between the window and the newcomer, her head tilting slightly on her neck, her face turning more and more towards the window, making it harder and harder to glance at the newcomer...

Really afraid her eyes would pop out from the corners.

Luke stood beside her.

"...Wh-what do you want?" Kawasaki Saki stuttered, glaring fiercely at him.

Like a menacing kitten.

"What happened?" He nudged his chin towards the scene of the incident in the classroom, asking.

"Can't you go ask yourself?" Kawasaki replied coldly.

"Hey, if I could ask directly, why would I run over to you?"

"Don't know." Kawasaki swung her dense, sky-blue hair, no longer looking at him.

Luke could only continue watching Yuigahama and Miura...

What on earth are they arguing about? Dying of curiosity!

"...Sorry."

"Sorry again?" Miura became even angrier with Yuigahama's apology.

"Is apologizing the only thing you know? I just want to know what you're hiding? Lately, you leave as soon as school ends! Now you're leaving again without giving a reason!"

Yuigahama, apologizing continuously like an office worker, continued to apologize incoherently.

Unfortunately, such words only provoked Supervisor Miura's more unrestrained approach.

Calling it an argument was just one-sided pressure like raindrops.

No idea how Miura's bulldozer personality was developed?

"That grumpy one is asking Yuigahama-san why she doesn't eat lunch with them."

Luke looked down at Kawasaki Saki, who showed him the back of her head but muttered from her mouth.

"...Just explaining clearly would be fine, these two arguing idiots." She continued to mutter.

Luke looked straight at Kawasaki Saki.

Kawasaki Saki quietly, secretly, inadvertently glanced at him, then quickly looked away.

"What are you still doing here?"

"You're the real human observer hiding among humans, aren't you?!"

He grasped the key point, asking puzzledly.

Kawasaki startled, instantly straightening her head, stuttering: "Why would I observe them? It's just their voices were too loud and I heard them, and you, stop talking nonsense..."

Looking at the still clueless Yuigahama in the distance, Luke waved his hand at Kawasaki.

Yuigahama, this idiot, so much for being able to read the atmosphere...

But then again, being able to read the atmosphere doesn't mean being able to read minds.

"Yuigahama-san, she promised our club earlier to discuss something, lunchtime is better." Luke walked over, telling Miura Yumiko.

At the same time, Yuigahama looked at him with teary eyes.

"Huh? Why are you telling me?"

Miura Yumiko looked at him puzzledly, then turned her head back towards Yuigahama.

"I want to hear Yui say it herself."

Seemingly bolstered by his support, and with the reason already stated.

Yuigahama Yui clenched her fingers, quickly nodding: "Ye, yes, that's right, because they helped me complete... the request before, so, so I invited them to eat together... at lunch."

Yuigahama's voice became smaller and smaller.

Others might not know, but he definitely didn't hear clearly.

And so Miura Yumiko took out her phone and started fiddling with it, her stern tone becoming indifferent:

"...Hmph, is that so."

Yuigahama became even more confused.
