Jay-jay's POV
After finishing off the food that should have been mine, they all went inside, leaving only Felix and me outside. Keifer—the jerk—was also here, but he was at a distance.
"They're gone… You can bring out your food now," Felix said.
I did as he suggested and took out my Nova. But before I could even open it, Felix snatched it away. What the hell?! A thief?
"Hey! What the hell?!"
"Sorry… It's my favorite," Felix said as he walked away, happily munching.
Now I was all alone. No one left to snatch my food when I take it out. Hehe! Finally!
I took out my Cheappy. But damn it… The moment I held the "Tear Here" part, someone snatched it from my hands again.
Aaarrrggghhhhh… What the hell?
I glared at the animal who stole my food.
Keifer?
"What the hell?! Have you people never heard of asking first?! If you're hungry, go buy your own!!"
He glared back at me. "We can't buy anything…" he muttered.
"What?!"
He ignored me and just walked into the room while eating my snacks. So annoying!
I put the desk and chair I used back where they belonged. I also fixed myself up a bit.
When I entered the room, it looked like a flood of paper balls had hit. The floor was completely covered, and with every step I took, I couldn't avoid kicking or stepping on them.
They didn't even clean up. Unbelievable!
I sat down in my seat—the dot right in the middle of the U-shape. Because I really was seated dead center.
The room was way too quiet. I always get a bad feeling when it's this silent.
I glanced behind me to check.
Thank God there was no miracle behind me. Felix and Keifer were just eating the chichirya that I bought!
The audacity!
They were savoring every single bite. The weird part was how my classmates looked so starving as they watched them.
Their eyes were glued to the food the two were eating.
Don't they get fed at all?
Even I caught myself staring at their food. It was so tempting, especially with that idiot making such a satisfied "this tastes so good" expression.
The nerve!
I turned my gaze back to the front. I was getting even more annoyed by what they were doing. That was mine! It should've been mine!
Finally, the bell rang, and our teacher arrived. Given the state of our classroom, I expected her to get mad, but she didn't seem to care about the mess she stepped on.
"This room really suits you all," she said in a bored tone.
She was about to start teaching when she noticed me. "Why is there a girl here?"
"I-I'm the transferee..." I answered.
"Ahh… Jasper Jean Mariano?"
I smiled. "Yes, ma'am."
She gave an "ah" reaction before turning to her book. Just like the previous teachers, she also gave me the lessons I missed.
While I was busy copying the lecture, the teacher approached me. Her name is Mrs. Zaragosa. She's in her mid-50s. She looks her age but doesn't seem strict.
"If you had a choice, which section would you prefer?" she asked.
I looked at her in confusion. "Huh?"
"You can't stay here; you're the only girl."
Waaahhhh... So that's why. I thought the girls were just absent.
"Are you serious, po? The registrar told me that because of my records, I was placed here."
Suddenly, it felt like the whole room went silent. As if everyone was listening to our conversation.
"There's no problem with that. Alvin and I will help you with the transfer. The girl who was here before you, we already moved her to Section A."
"I'll think about it..." was all I could answer.
Honestly, a huge part of me didn't want to transfer. It felt like I didn't deserve it, but at the same time, I could feel their concern. After all, I really was the only one here.
The only beautiful lady here.
Classes with Mrs. Zaragosa and the other teachers went by, and we were now in our last subject for the day.
Mrs. Zaragosa's class ended, along with the ones after hers. We were now in the last subject for the day.
"I don't want to teach!" the teacher shouted angrily.
My classmates went wild with joy like crazy dogs. Wow! I just lowered my head in shock at their reaction.
"Clean your room… I have to attend a meeting first," she said.
Huh? So there's a meeting? Maybe she just doesn't want to teach. Or maybe she had the option to skip the meeting but just didn't want to deal with this class.
"When I come back and this classroom still looks the same… I will teach! No one is leaving, or I'll kick each of you one by one!" she added before leaving.
Her name is Ms. Cindy Smith. She's in her mid-20s and she looks really cool.
The moment she left, I was shocked when the entire class suddenly stood up. I thought they were going to clean, but they all rushed out instead.
"Hey! Where are you all going?!" I shouted. I tried to follow them but when I reached the door, they suddenly slammed it shut.
Oh no! Oh no!
"Open this door!" I yelled, banging on it.
I saw Keifer peek through the window, so I immediately ran toward it.
"Hey! What kind of prank is this again?!"
"Clean the room," he replied in a bored tone.
What the—?!
"I won't! Why should I? You guys made this mess!"
"Tss. You're the reason we made this mess. Now you clean it!"
"And what if I don't?!"
"Then we won't open the door, even if Ma'am Sexy arrives."
Then I heard our classmates speak up.
"Just clean it!"
"Hurry up!"
"My arms are getting tired standing here!"
The audacity! These guys are so shameless!
"You guys are unbelievable! After you ate all my food, now you're ordering me to clean?!"
"Tss. Don't throw that back at us. Why did you even bring food in the first place?"
Oh, for real?!! "You pieces of—!!"
I heard them laughing. They were really pushing my buttons!
"Just clean the room. If we get bored, we might just go home. Ma'am Sexy might not find anyone here. We also have the key."
Sh*t!!
"Ugh!!! YOU DAMN PESTS!!" I screamed.
Damn it! These people are so shameless. They're not only moochers but also freeloaders!
What else could I do? I had no choice but to clean this damn room.
I stood with my arms crossed, looking around the room. It was just a normal classroom like any other. Except for the piles of plywood, corrugated iron sheets, and cardboard stacked at the back. There was also a cabinet that probably held the brooms.
I walked over and opened it. It looked like it hadn't been opened in ten years. A thick cloud of dust exploded in my face and I almost choked.
"What the hell?!"
I searched for the brooms and dustpan, which looked like they were passed down from the school's ancestors because of how old they were. I was lucky to find a roll of garbage bags.
To be honest, the ceiling was full of cobwebs and the windows were extremely dusty. But I only planned to clean up the mess on the floor.
Do they think they've found a maid? How lucky for them. They could've just asked the school janitor to clean this place. Why won't they?
I quickly swept the floor and stuffed the trash tightly into the garbage bag. While sweeping, I accidentally bumped into the pile of cardboard stacked at the back near Keifer's chair.
Oh no! The cardboards tumbled down to the floor. Thick dust flew everywhere, and what was revealed to me was… a rice cooker?
I moved the cardboards aside to see it better. It was still in its box and looked brand new. That's when I noticed it was sitting on shoe shelves — like lockers but without doors.
Each box or space had a name on it. I saw Keifer's name.
"Mark Keifer Watson."
I looked at the others and also saw Felix's.
"John Felix Collins."
But one thing caught my attention the most. Right next to Keifer's space was another space with a girl's name, and a heart sticker was placed on the divider between them.
"Ella Dianne Hyun."
Is this the girl Ma'am mentioned earlier? The one before me who they already transferred to another section?
I heard them banging on the door and asking if I was done.
"Not yet!!" I shouted at them.
I put back the stacked and leaning boxes. I also decided to check the other things hidden under the corrugated iron sheets and plywood.
They had an electric frying pan—the kind used in Korea. They also had a water dispenser and small pots. Is this a kitchen?
Speaking of kitchen, they even had a small sink. There was also an empty bottle of Joy dishwashing liquid.
What is this? Are they camping here?
I returned everything I had opened. This section is really weird. They have so much stuff. No wonder some of them look messy. Hehe.
I finished cleaning and banged loudly on the door.
"Done!!"
The door immediately opened and the shameless guys came pouring back in. But Keifer stopped right in front of me.
"Where's the cleaning you did?"
"I cleaned up your mess, obviously!" I said, pointing at the floor.
He scanned the room with his eyes and immediately frowned. "What about the cobwebs?!"
"What? Do you think you hired a maid? I don't want to clean that!"
His eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. "Don't shout at me!"
"I want to shout at you!"
"Either you shut up, or I'll make you shut up!"
"Either you shut up, or I'll make you shut up!" I mimicked him, pouting and squinting my eyes.
Suddenly, someone burst into laughter. The whole class was watching us.
"Hahaha… You look like Husband and Wifeeee," Felix said, causing a loud uproar from everyone.
I looked at Keifer in disgust. He had the same reaction toward me.
Husband and Wife? Just like that? No way! I would never want to be Keifer's wife!
