Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 — Scathach.

A luxurious couch rested near the edge of the balcony, positioned perfectly to overlook the realm below.

The moment they sat down, Scathach shifted closer.

Then closer still.

Without hesitation, she nestled herself against his side, slipping comfortably into his embrace as though it were the most natural thing in the world.

Sirzechs wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her gently against him.

For a while, neither of them said anything.

They simply enjoyed the warmth of each other's presence.

Eventually, Scathach broke the silence.

"I missed you."

Her voice was soft.

Happy.

Almost vulnerable.

A side of the legendary God-Slayer that very few people would ever witness.

Sirzechs smiled.

His hand lightly brushed through her hair.

"I missed you too, Scath."

The nickname earned a small smile from her.

She rested her head against his chest and closed her eyes.

For a brief moment, the burdens of the world seemed very far away.

No responsibilities.

Only the two of them.

The breeze of the Shadow Realm drifted across the balcony as they sat together in comfortable silence, sharing warmth and quiet companionship.

Neither felt the need to speak.

Some feelings were understood without words.

And so they remained there, embracing each other while the eternal twilight of the Shadow Realm stretched endlessly before them, content to simply exist in that peaceful moment and forget about the rest of the world.

Their eyes locked across the intimate space, a silent understanding passing between them before their lips met in a tender kiss.

What began as a sweet exploration gradually deepened into something more passionate and unrestrained. They drank from each other's mouths as if tasting divine ambrosia, lost in the moment's intoxicating spell.

When they finally parted, both were breathing heavily. Scathach's face was flushed crimson, her eyes misty with desire, and her generous bosom rose and fell with each ragged breath she looks absolutely breathtaking.

Though it only took a few seconds for Scathach to compose herself.

The slight flush on her cheeks faded, and her breathing steadied as the legendary warrior regained her usual calm demeanor.

Then she raised an elegant eyebrow and looked up at him.

"Now then," she said, a hint of amusement lingering in her crimson eyes, "tell me the reason for your visit, Sirzechs."

Sirzechs responded with a wry smile.

"Can't I come just to see you?"

Scathach snorted softly.

Rather than answering, she simply turned her head away with an exaggerated huff, her lips forming a small pout.

The sight was unexpectedly adorable.

This was the woman known throughout countless worlds as the God-Slayer, the undefeated Queen of the Land of Shadows, a warrior whose name inspired awe and fear wherever it was spoken.

And yet, at this moment, she looked almost unfairly cute.

Sirzechs felt his heart skip a beat.

A trace of guilt also surfaced within him.

After all, she wasn't entirely wrong.

While he genuinely wanted to see her, he did have another reason for coming here.

Still...

Just seeing her again made the journey worthwhile.

Watching her expression, feeling her warmth beside him, hearing her voice—those things alone were enough.

A gentle smile appeared on his face.

Raising a hand, he softly cupped her cheek.

The moment his fingers touched her skin, Scathach instinctively leaned into his palm.

Her eyes softened.

The stubborn pout disappeared almost immediately.

Instead, she nuzzled against his hand, enjoying the affection without the slightest trace of embarrassment.

Sirzechs couldn't help but chuckle.

The fearsome warrior who could challenge gods and dragons alike was acting more like a content kitten than the legendary God-Slayer.

His thumb gently brushed across her cheek.

Then, in a soft voice filled with genuine affection, he spoke.

"I love you, Scath."

For a moment, time seemed to stop.

Scathach's eyes widened.

The next second, all of her composure shattered.

A radiant smile bloomed across her face, bright enough to illuminate the gloomy Shadow Realm itself.

The fierce warrior who faced armies without fear suddenly looked completely lovestruck.

Her crimson eyes sparkled as she gazed at him.

"I love you too, my darling."

There was no hesitation.

No pride.

No teasing.

Only pure sincerity.

The words carried centuries of affection, trust, and companionship.

And as they looked into each other's eyes, the endless shadows surrounding the palace felt just a little warmer.

She leaned forward once more, her movements deliberate and filled with a hunger that mirrored his own.

Their lips crashed together with renewed urgency, the previous tenderness giving way to a raw, primal need.

His hands tangled in her hair, tilting her head to deepen the kiss as she pressed against him, her fingers digging into his shoulders.

Their mouths moved in a feverish dance, tongues dueling and exploring. Each kiss grew more desperate than the last, a testament to the fire building between them.

He broke away only to trail his lips along her jawline, nipping at the sensitive skin there before moving to the curve of her neck.

She gasped as he found the tender spot where her pulse raced, sucking gently at first, then harder until a deep crimson bloom marked her skin.

She returned the favor with equal enthusiasm, leaving a trail of possessive marks across his collarbone and shoulders.

Each hickey was a claim, a temporary brand that spoke of their mutual desire. The room grew warmer, filled with the sounds of their heavy breathing and soft moans, punctuated by the occasional whisper of names spoken like prayers against heated skin.

Time seemed to blur as they lost themselves in each other, the world outside their intimate bubble fading to nothing.

All that mattered was the taste, the touch, the overwhelming sensation of two bodies merging in passionate exploration.

They eventually stopped.

Scathach enjoyed the moment for a few minutes longer before narrowing her eyes suspiciously.

"Alright," she said, poking his chest with a finger. "Now tell me the real reason you're here."

Sirzechs sighed helplessly.

There was no fooling her.

"We Devils have found a way to solve our population decline."

That immediately caught her attention.

"Oh?"

He nodded.

"A new system called the Evil Pieces system. It allows us to reincarnate members of other races into Devils."

Scathach's crimson eyes widened slightly.

Seeing her interest, Sirzechs continued.

"We still don't know the exact upper limits of the system. However, the most likely conclusion is that a reincarnation can only succeed if the target is slightly weaker than the Devil performing the ritual and possesses the appropriate Evil Piece."

He then began explaining the system in greater detail.

The role of the King Piece.

The different chess-piece classifications.

The boosts granted by each piece.

The advantages of creating peerages.

The growth potential offered through reincarnation.

And finally, the limitations and risks that still remained unknown.
