Everyone of the village had gather once again around the giant mass of fire wood. Still eager to be lit, with the curse child ties to the stake.
Pulling the chain, the villagers make way for us.
A whole lot of expression they got going. For the last 3 days I had got over hundred of evidence, not even from my own investigation but purely from the people here. I didn't do much work but I can tell not all the evidence is true to it suppose story.
'They really want to get rid of the kid, so let make this quick and easy.'
Being the center of attention really felt different when you rarely experince it.
I kneel, whispering something to the kid ear, before putting a sag of old raged beg on his head.
"After doing my own investigation for the past couple of days. I had come to a conclusion for today trial"
Everyone waiting for my judgement eagerly.
Little did they know I had set up a whole complete plan for this exact day.
But, to my suprise I didn't expected the whole plan to crumble away just by one unexpected guest.
By this point, I almost reach the middle of the book.
"The whole plan I had carefully set up got ruin in an instant. Truthly dissapointing"
"Sir you talking to yourself again and you not actually reading the book in your hand" the room maid once again gave her friendly reminder, while pouring a new batch of hot tea to my cup.
"I am reading it". I said as I turn to the next page. Paying the maid no attention.
It just that I don't need my full attention to comprehend something.
Going back, the unexpected appearance has been none other that micheal kingdom actual officer.
When I saw tha gleaming shining individual on a horse from the distance I know my fate as a fake authority was seal.
As the officer try to comprehence the current situation.
I waste no time, and move on to plan B as there nothing else I could do without me geting figure out.
"Kid it seem we had change of plan. When I said go, you will do as we had practice."
The kid even tho his facial expression is hiding behind the raged sag, his discomfort is clear.
"I know, I know but it the only way out of here without causing more problem. I'll take the responsibility and handle the rest.. and you. You have to kept on living"
The kid give a slight nod. By that time the officer had got the clear picture of the situation the whole village is turning against me.
There is nothing left that my mouth can do to deasclate the situation.
"You imposter. Get yourself on the ground and away from the kid. You are under arrest for faking identity and working under fake authority".
I raise both of my hand up. One of my hand is close as I stepping away from the kid.
"I didn't fake anything. Been telling the truth the whole time... Beside that one time of course... Well techically two."
As the crowd closing on, on me. My eyes is focusing on the structure of the nearby building.
I actually had plant a little something just in case something unexpected happend just like this very moment.
The officer had the handcuff and his buton out while the villager closing all the escape route.
'Little bit closer. I need them just a little bit closer'
"Open both of your hand, now. Before thing got more serious" the officer said to my face as he taking a cautious step.
"Oh? You want to see what in my hand?"
I bring my close hand forward. Before opening my palm.
"It's a pebble" I said with a smirk look.
But before anyone can do anything, my open palm had turn to slinging motion. Throwing the pebble passes the officer and several villager it landed squarely on the lose holder to a touch.
Beside that very same touch is a cart of hay that been month to a houses.
And you can guess what happend next.
A sight of chaos abrupt at the very next moment.
Causing confusion and disorder.
The officer tho still had his sight on me as he try to put me down.
Although it not that simple.
Dodging the baton downward strike. I grab the very same arm before using my other hand to palm strike the jaw of the officer.
Disarming the officer, I push him down to the ground.
"Kid, it go time"
In the midst of chaos, a swelling of darkness circling the kid.
And before long a small burst of darkness crash sweep the entire village.
What follow was an intense silence.
There is no more chaos, no more shouting and no more hatred.
Just a dust and remnant of what had happend.
The kid knew this silence more than anyone.
There is reason to why I had cover his head, so he not able to capture the sight of what might had or could have happend today.
Passing from the dust, one of my arm block my front view. As the dust settle I caught the sight of the child and moving closer to him before pulling him away from the village.
After some distance, I finally stop. Turning to look apon the child. The rag is still covering his whole head.
Slowly I pull the sag off, revealing the sad look of the child.
It too much for a child to handle the truth on such young age. He need to be strong if he wanted to survive.
... Or he doesn't have to.
"Kid... I am a selfish person. I only ever move for my own interest. But you had remind me of something I had long trying to forgot in my life.
So, here a final gift from me. Enjoy your new life away from the curse you are born with. For today countless life, the sole responsibility is on my hand... Not yours".
I said before hugging the kids and we parted way.
"I hope we never meet again kid" and so that was the first of the noteworthy occurrences I encounter during my rank climbing session.
I burn the village down leaving nothing, no evidence and no clue of the cause. The people in the village is no longer exist nor the officer that day.
Finally reaching the middle section of the book, I let out a sigh of relieve.
My eyes turn to the sky above.
"Is it afternoon already?"
The maid answer briefly with a yes and politely ask if she should bring my launch.
Which I decline. "I want to finish this book today and nothing is getting in my way but I can use a bit of sweets to go with this tea".
The room maid understand my request and immidratly left the room.
