DARKNESS: A HOPE

She was told from the beginning—

she was too different.

Too soft for this world.

That no one would stay.

That everyone would leave.

And as she grew up,

she saw it was true.

With every goodbye,

the darkness grew.

Then she saw a light.

And she ran toward it.

But every time she came close,

it drifted farther away.

So she kept running.

She ran tirelessly.

Until one day,

there was nothing left.

Only darkness.

Just when she thought it was over—

a light appeared.

Smaller than all the others.

Yet brighter than anything she had ever seen.

She looked at it

as her tears kept falling.

And falling.

The light was so small.

Yet its glow wrapped around her,

and the darkness began to melt away.

For the first time,

she wasn't chasing a light.

She had found hers.

Darkness: A Hope

A story about a girl who chased countless lights, only to find the one that was hers.

I tend to revisit older chapters quite often. Sometimes I notice a scene that can be improved, a dialogue that can be stronger, or details that needs polishing.
