The sun started to shine on the wide fields, yet the air already felt hot nearby. One of the several dirt roads led directly into the town, where a wooden board stood beside the path, welcoming travelers with the words: Rosalie Colony. The town looked very busy. Guards stood at every single entrance to the four main roads, wearing bright red color outfits and holding long, sharp spears in their hands. They strictly stopped anyone from getting out into the main street that led to the central crossroads. The townsfolk were all watching the center of the town and the four roads leading to it; some were watching with smiles, while others looked sleepy, opening their mouths wide to snore.
Something crawled out from the dry soil of the field. It dragged itself out of the earth and got onto the main road, moving very slowly. It was a little girl with beautiful green skin and a lovely face and Stem on her head making her hair, Her eyes were squeezed tightly shut.
She slowly got inside the town, her eyes still closed as she navigated the path. Suddenly, a toy ball made of wood fell from a window, bouncing hard off her shoulder and hitting the ground right in front of her. She did not flinch or react to the impact at all. However, as her foot happened to stumble upon the ball, she stopped and picked it up blindly, holding it up near her face.
High above, a little boy looked down at her. "That is my ball, give it back!" the boy screamed loudly.
The green girl gave no answer back, completely unaware of his voice.
Behind the boy, two other boys burst into laughter. "You should not play with a ball when the marathon is happening! You know the rules!" one mocked.
"But you threw it on the road, not me!" the boy argued back. He leaned out of the window and the boys looked unhappy. The green girl continued on her way slowly, completely silent.
More of these beautiful green-skinned girls were clawing their way out of the ground cover in dirt , not like the first one. They did not move slowly like her. The moment they touched the main road, they ran fast toward the town. There was an unlimited number of them, a massive wave.
Soon they caught up to her. They pushed the little green girl around in their hurry, leaving her completely confused , the main road could hardly contain them all. The mob was so thick that some of them were pushed hard against the sides of the walls, and others fell down into the dirt, never to be seen getting back up. Up in a window, a woman quickly pulled her young son back and covered his eyes with her hand so he wouldn't see the trampling. The guards at the entrances were now working hard, using their spears to stop the green-skinned girls from entering the secondary side roads. The guards had a very difficult time controlling the marching mob.
Seeing a girl with a wooden ball moving at a slow pace, a nearby guard whistled loudly at her, pointing directly to the fountain. "Run faster!" he yelled.
The other guard standing next to him put a hand on his shoulder. "Do not bother," he sighed.
By now, there was not a lot of flora on the path, so the road was empty and she could use it comfortably.
Meanwhile, the townsfolk watched from above as the very first of the green-skinned girls finally reached the center of town. There, they found a fountain and rushed to get into it. The fountain was huge for a town of this size, and yet it got full of bodies incredibly fast. The lucky few who managed to get into the fountain first underwent a sudden change. The moment the water splashed and touched their faces, their eyes finally opened. the long small stem right on top of their heads, a row of beautiful flowers grew out one by one , creating a colorful head of hair for the green girls. Their eyes' iris looked just like the blooming flowers on their heads.
The townsfolk began to scream with excitement from their windows. "The first Flora of the year!" one shouted. Others yelled, "Let the harvest festival begin!" Beautiful music started playing from above, even while the brutal trampling and slaughter continued down on the road leading to the main square.
Down in the town square, the competition was getting much harder to get into the fountain. Flora were violently dragged out of the water by the others who wanted to take their place. Now, there was barely any water left at all. When the slow green girl finally reached the fountain, she found only a dry, stone pond. Fauna huddling together without opening their eyes or growing flowers on their heads. Their green skin began to fade into a sickly yellow, and the festival music got very sad.
Suddenly, the ground underneath the town started to move. The townsfolk looked deeply worried, whispering and talking between themselves from the windows. The music stopped completely. Everyone came closer to the edges of the windows, looking down with worried faces. The guards started moving into the center of the town, drawing their weapons to stop the girls from running away from the town square. One of the flower-eyed girls told the guard, "We finished irrigating! Why do you not let us leave?"
The guard pushed her back and said, "There is something wrong."
But the crowd panicked. The Flora started pushing hard to get out of the town center, and the guards pushed back with their shields. Then, the ground shook for one last, massive time. A giant hole appeared in the earth, and the fountain was swallowed by it completely. All inside the fountain vanished into the dark pit. Seeing that, the guards looked shocked, and the Flora who were left outside the pit screamed and pushed against the guards even harder.
Suddenly, one of the guards pointed a shaking finger toward the hole in the ground. A giant head appeared with sharp, snapping claws. It was an ant, but a monstrously huge one.
The giant ant immediately started to attack the nearby Flora and guards, eating them whole. Even the buildings were not safe from its size. The monster put its massive head right inside a window, grabbed a screaming woman, and ate her. The guards rushed forward to fight them, leaving what was left of the Fauna to run for their lives. It took six guards working together to finally kill that single ant, and that was only after it had killed a bunch of people and destroyed part of the building.
