What truly matters to a writer?
There are many things that matter to a writer.
Fame.
Recognition.
Communication.
Passion.
And there could be many, many more.
But every writer would probably agree on one thing—that what they love hearing the most is this:
"This… it's so good. Angel, I love this!"
Hearing those soft, ticklish words from Maria, Angel couldn't help but open her mouth slightly before breaking into a wide grin.
Her heart felt warm.
This is what she wanted… recognition.
Acknowledgement.
Truly, every writer dreams of at least one commenter. Just even one view.
Because what is a writer without an audience?
No matter how good you are, if there's no audience—there's no drive. No ceiling, no sky to look up to.
When there is no one there… you start to feel worthless.
But if you have just somebody, anybody to say otherwise.
You'd think
"Ah, maybe it isn't so bad"
That is what Angel's thought right now..
"Is it...really good?"
Angel's voice became as soft as a whisper, her eyes fluttered as she stared at Maria
"Of course! I have quite the eye for these things! After all, ako ang first reader ng kuya mo"
Maria smiled warmly as she tilted her head, looking at Angel who has turned bright red.
"Is something..wrong?"
Maria asked, curiousity and concern mixed into one
"N-No I'm fine...just didn't expect the praise...I..actually..actually I dont think I would pop off.."
"Hmm? Why's that?"
At Angel's words, Maria doesnt seem to understand
"Because up until now..I havent gotten any readers online, and you are the first person who read my work..and loved it"
Angel gave a small smile, fragile..forced..
"That's why I'm going to college.."
