Two masked Konoha rogue shinobi carrying a red-haired boy swiftly arrived at a secluded cavern hidden deep within the forests of the Land of Rain. The boy, unconscious and bound, was none other than Uzumaki Nagato a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan known for their powerful chakra and sealing techniques. In the future, this same boy would command destruction and rebirth under the title of "Pain."
Inside the dimly lit cavern was another child similar in height and age to Nagato. Without a word, the two shinobi, clearly operating under strict orders, moved with cold precision.
One of them rolled out a worn summoning scroll, etched with ancient Uzumaki and Uchiha formulas. He removed Nagato's torn shirt and, biting his thumb, smeared blood into the seal's intricate circular design, drawing it directly over Nagato's torso. The seal, resembling one seen in Orochimaru's experiments on the Curse Mark, began to glow faintly.
Meanwhile, the second rogue shinobi sliced a small piece of Nagato's finger, extracting fresh blood, and poured it over the other child's body. After forming the necessary hand signs, he cast a Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) the child's appearance quickly shifted to Nagato's exact likeness.
Just as the first seal began to shine, the summoning array triggered a burst of smoke.
"Puff!"
Nagato vanished spirited away via reverse summoning into a different location. What had occurred was not a mere kidnapping, but a precise extraction planned well in advance.
Back in the cave, the two rogue Konoha shinobi scooped up the fake-Nagato and escaped deeper into the wilderness of Amegakure, hoping to mislead any potential pursuers. Their footsteps quickly faded into the storm.
Elsewhere in the Land of Rain in a hidden underground facility constructed beneath the ruins of an abandoned Rain shinobi laboratory a massive summoning array glowed on the floor. The room was cold and sterile. Medical instruments, chakra monitors, petri dishes, and surgical tools were neatly arranged, with a large ice coffin positioned at its center.
Inside the coffin lay the pale, preserved corpse of Uchiha Madara the legendary ghost of the Uchiha clan, thought to have died in the Valley of the End long ago. However, as detailed in earlier chapters, after Madara's death, his body was retrieved and preserved by Mizuki Ryosuke a mysterious figure whose shadow has grown across the ninja world.
Ryosuke, now dressed in a pristine white lab coat and surgical gloves, stepped into the center of the circle. Biting his thumb, he made a series of precise hand signs.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!"
A blast of chakra and smoke filled the room. When it cleared, the unconscious form of Uzumaki Nagato lay before him.
Thus, the true mystery of Nagato's abduction was revealed it had been orchestrated not by any Hidden Village, but by Mizuki Ryosuke himself. The two Konoha "shinobi" were his subordinates, used to execute this plan in the shadows.
Ryosuke wasted no time. He checked Nagato's vital signs, stabilizing him with a pulse of medical chakra. He then gently pried open the boy's eyelids, and what he saw made his heart race.
The eyes Rinnegan, the legendary dōjutsu said to have been wielded only by the Sage of Six Paths, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo himself were right in front of him.
These were not mere tools they symbolized absolute control over life and death, over chakra and the forces of the universe itself. In the manga, Nagato had used these very eyes to kill Jiraiya, destroy the entirety of Konoha Village, and bring back the dead abilities that dwarfed even many Kage.
Yet these eyes were never his to begin with. In truth, as revealed by Tobi (Uchiha Obito) in the original series, the Rinnegan implanted into Nagato were created by Uchiha Madara, after he awakened them late in life by combining Hashirama Senju's cells with his own Sharingan. He had transplanted the eyes into Nagato while the boy was still young, intending to retrieve them upon his own resurrection.
But that never happened.
And now, Mizuki Ryosuke stood between the legacy of Madara and the future of the Rinnegan.
He reached for a sharp, ice-infused surgical blade. Without wasting a moment, he performed an intricate operation one that even Orochimaru might have admired carefully extracting the lavender, ripple-patterned Rinnegan from Nagato's eye sockets. Each eye was immediately placed into a nutrient-filled petri dish, their power still palpable in the room.
Unlike how the anime made such surgeries look like pushing buttons, this took real precision and risk. Still, Ryosuke succeeded.
With the Rinnegan now in his possession, Ryosuke didn't rush to implant them. Instead, he paused, contemplating.
He thought of the Rinnegan's history: from Madara, who used them to control the Demoniac Statue of the Outer Path, to Nagato, who mastered the Six Paths techniques. Then Obito, who with just one eye, manipulated the Six Paths of Pain, albeit with limits never showing techniques like Gakidō's soul absorption or Tengai Shinsei (Heavenly Subjugation of the Earth).
Oddly, Nagato never used Tengai Shinsei, despite wielding both Rinnegan. Ryosuke knew why.
The manga implied that only those who had "qualified" chakra likely a combination of Uchiha and Senju or Ōtsutsuki blood could truly awaken the Rinnegan's full powers. Nagato, despite being of the powerful Uzumaki clan, lacked the Uchiha lineage. Madara had most likely embedded chakra locks or mental triggers into the eyes a "backdoor" ensuring Nagato could never fully wield them without Madara's approval.
And that's why Obito, who was Madara's chosen successor, could use the eye more freely he inherited both the eye and the knowledge to control it. Madara didn't trust random chance he always prepared contingencies.
Ryosuke pondered: could he unlock the full power of the Rinnegan? Would he need Uchiha blood, or perhaps some kind of activation formula? Was there a mental link or seal hidden within the eye itself?
One thing was certain: if Uzumaki Naruto, the reincarnation of Asura, could become the peak of the shinobi world with raw willpower, then the limits of bloodline weren't as fixed as people believed.
In Ryosuke's view, it wasn't simply about lineage it was about knowledge and control. Madara's stele spoke of two opposing forces creating everything: light and dark, Uchiha and Senju, Yin and Yang. But what if that balance could also be struck by other bloodlines like Uzumaki?
The manga later confirmed that Uzumaki Naruto carried Ashura's will, proving that the Uzumaki weren't just peripheral they were direct descendants of the Sage.
In that sense, Madara placing Rinnegan into Nagato was a gamble but one he thought he could control. Ryosuke would not make that same mistake.
He would test, refine, and master the Rinnegan through experimentation and adaptation not blind trust.
At that moment, Mizuki Ryosuke took a deep breath, holding the petri dish to eye level. The rippled lavender eyes gleamed under the lab's lighting.
The fairy's eyes were no longer in the hands of fate.
They were in his.
