Silvanus continued walking through the darkness. By instinct, he raised a hand and pressed it against his abdomen.
As expected, his intuition had been correct. The farther he went, the weaker the influence of what Daisy had left inside him became.
When that bizarre creature had approached earlier, Silvanus had clearly felt pain spreading through his body, along with the sensation of his nerves being tightly gripped. The thing had obviously been trying to control him.
If not for the faith energy he had accumulated, he certainly would not have been able to lunge forward, shove Elya backward, and avoid the creature's attack.
Silvanus had promised that he would help Daisy. Of course, he had never truly intended to help her, so Daisy had made sure he would have no choice but to fulfill that promise.
Yet this place seemed isolated from the outside world. Was there something different about it?
