Chapter 347 - The True Power of V5

People would notice frequent trips to a secluded spot and start asking questions.

But placing the entrance inside a busy office building meant it could blend in naturally.

Some of the Ferry Office staff even worked openly in that building, masking their true roles.

Now that the entrance was known, getting in would be much easier.

Larry took a step forward and entered the spatial channel created by Porygon Z.

In an instant, he vanished from the empty rooftop, leaving behind only a faint breeze.

Meanwhile, on the 15th floor of the office building, a small corner room marked "Warehouse" sat quietly, its door locked tight.

Most people wouldn't

Even notice this door.

But behind it lies one of the secret entrances to the Ferry Hall, a place shrouded in mystery.

This isn't even the last line of defense for V5.

Since not everyone in the office building belongs to the Ferry Hall, they've installed all kinds of high-tech equipment behind the door to stop ordinary people from accidentally wandering in.

These gadgets would normally trigger alarms if anyone tried to enter without proper clearance.

However, to Porygon Z, all that technology is like a pile of junk.

In the dark, lightless "warehouse," a space portal suddenly opened, casting a glow across the room.

Larry stepped through carefully and stood in the narrow space.

'There's quite a bit of equipment here,' he thought.

He noticed more than ten cameras, sensors, and other devices.

But none of it mattered to him.

Although the systems appeared to be working, they showed no signs of detecting him.

The surveillance feeds remained pitch black, with no hint of a space portal or Larry's presence.

All thanks to Porygon Z.

Ignoring the equipment, Larry focused on the wall beside him.

According to Beyond, this wall could be passed through directly. It was the real entrance.

Of course, it wasn't that simple.

Beyond had also warned him that a special guard stood behind every entrance.

If a stranger tried to break in, the guard would act immediately, even if the person was an acquaintance or staff member who hadn't given prior notice.

Anyone who didn't report beforehand would be taken down without hesitation.

But none of that worried Larry.

He wasn't afraid to fight, and if it came to it, he was confident he'd win.

Even if all of V5 united against him, he wouldn't back down.

Although Genesect was a bit tired and might fire a few shots, Larry could easily break into the Ferry Hall or threaten V5 by force.

Still, he knew that would harm his reputation and complicate things unnecessarily.

It was smarter to keep things simple.

Just as Larry was thinking this, a shadow shifted as if alive, and dark aura suddenly wrapped around him.

Then, like a tide pulling back, the inky darkness receded, leaving Larry breathless.

"Illusion, Detect!" he whispered.

Larry often uses a special ability in public that let's him hold his breath and lower his presence.

Without this, his fame would make it impossible for him to move freely on the streets. He'd be instantly surrounded by crowds.

This ability, called [Illusion-Detect], comes from ghost-type Pokemon merging their aura with their own powers.

Originally, Gengar was known for using [Illusion-Detect] to reduce its presence, but this time, Larry had Marshadow perform it, and the effect was even more impressive.

Although Marshadow was physically there, it gave off no breath or presence at all, making it invisible even to direct sight.

If Marshadow touched objects, others wouldn't notice any contact.

In many ways, this ability achieved the ultimate level of concealment, so much so that it felt more like [Illusion].

When it comes to mental skills, [Spectral Thief] is actually a more advanced technique than [Detect], and it's one of Marshadow's specialties, the ability it uses most often and excels at.

As the messenger of the Phoenix King, Marshadow's job is to accompany the trialists during the [Rainbow Trial].

It relies heavily on staying hidden in the shadows, making its breath and presence nearly undetectable.

Thanks to Marshadow's skill, even if guards are posted right behind the entrance, Larry can confidently stroll in as if walking through an empty space, completely unnoticed.

Larry reached out to touch the wall, and as expected, his hand met a thin, jelly-like layer.

When he pushed forward, his hand easily passed through the invisible barrier to the other side.

Seeing this, Larry stepped forward and passed his entire body through without hesitation.

The moment he entered, a new instinctive sense stirred within his mind.

At the entrance to the 723rd flight hall, two soldiers stood guard on either side, surrounded by various testing devices.

The auras radiating from these two were strong, both ranked around A-level.

The soldiers sent by V5 to 'resist' Jed did not match their caliber; these two represented the true backbone of V5's forces.

Each of the five entrances had two senior soldiers on duty at all times, ensuring that V5's strength remained formidable.

Among the 7,500 personnel deployed to the Dark Continent, aside from some logistics staff, nearly all were experts.

Yet, despite their power, they failed.

Only a handful managed to escape, and most of those survivors later perished.

Of all those involved, only three, including Beyond, remained largely unaffected by the harsh conditions of the Dark Continent.

This meant that numerous A-level strongmen, and even some S-level ones, died during the exploration.

Despite this, Larry remained unfazed by these overwhelming forces that had shaken the outside world.

After confidently passing the two stern-looking soldiers, he wondered where the information room was located.

Upon entering, what caught his eye was the pristine white environment, along with the soldiers and their instruments.

The setting resembled more of a laboratory or a futuristic facility often depicted in movies.

The walls, ceiling, and floor were all made from an unfamiliar material with a strange metallic sheen.

It was likely a material sourced from the Dark Continent itself.

From the entrance, several corridors branched out in different directions.

Larry realized the place was probably much larger than he had imagined.

According to the information Porygon Z had provided, the facility appeared to have multiple layers.

Larry's main goal now was to find the information room where all data about the Dark Continent was stored, a task naturally assigned to Porygon Z.

While Porygon Z was still searching for the information room, Larry suddenly sensed a new breeding bar appear in his mind.

This didn't surprise him at all. Breeding Pokemon in a place like this was pretty normal.

What intrigued him more was the kind of Pokemon that would be bred here.

If he had to compare, the environment reminded him somewhat of where his Meowth was born.

But it wasn't exactly the same, since the conditions here were quite different from the Hunter Association's dark room.
