The United Nations chamber had never been this tense and that was saying something considering the number of conflicts, treaties and near-war situations that had passed through those same walls over decades of human history.
Representatives from nearly every recognized nation were here. A few were already looking irritated as if they had been dragged into yet another political stunt they did not have the patience for. The large screens mounted across the hall displayed live global feeds, showing that this wasn't just a closed-door briefing but something being broadcast to billions across the planet.
President Hanson stood behind the podium at the center with a serious expression that made even the most dismissive leaders hesitate just a little. He took a deep breath and began to speak.
"Distinguished leaders, representatives and citizens of Earth, thank you for attending on such short notice, because what I am about to say cannot wait any longer. For the past several years, our scientific institutions and classified research divisions have all come to the same conclusion, one that we have delayed sharing in full due to the risk of global panic and instability, but that delay has now reached its limit and can no longer continue."
He paused briefly, letting the silence stretch just enough to make everyone curious.
"The Moon's orbit has been destabilizing at an accelerating rate that defies conventional gravitational modeling. As a result, it is on a collision trajectory with Earth."
The room began to emit overlapping voices, disbelief, anger and confusion but Hanson did not raise his voice to compete.
"This is not a theoretical projection. It is calculated based on repeated data verification across multiple global systems. If current patterns persist, the collision will occur on December 24th, 2027."
The silence that followed this time was suffocating.
"You have already seen the early effects whether you realized it or not. The abnormal rise in ocean tides, the increasingly erratic current systems, the gravitational inconsistencies affecting satellite stability and the subtle strain on Earth's own rotational balance. All of these are symptoms of a natural satellite that is already beginning to fail under external pressure."
"However, this is not where the truth ends, and it is not where our options disappear. Over the past decades, humanity has not been alone in its observations of the universe, and in fact, we have encountered evidence of civilizations beyond our own."
"Since 2020, multiple governments have confirmed the existence of extraterrestrial life through recovered artifacts, anomalous materials and observational data that cannot be explained within the framework of Earth-origin technology. While much of this has been kept from the public to avoid widespread panic, the situation we now face makes secrecy no longer viable."
He turned towards the large screens, which flickered to show images of the relics recovered over the years.
"Today, for the first time in recorded history, we are not only acknowledging that fact openly, but we are also presenting individuals who have come from beyond our world and who possess the capability to address the crisis we face. They are not invaders or conquerors. They have made no hostile move against our planet but they are powerful in ways that surpass our current understanding. They have agreed to assist us."
A circular tear opened in reality and from it stepped two figures. They were far taller than any human present. They were more than three meters tall to be exact. Even when dressed in what appeared to be casual attire, there was an undeniable elegance to them that set them apart completely from everyone else in the room.
The moment they appeared, every camera turned to them. The sheer presence they carried made the tension in the room spike to an entirely different level. Narisva stepped forward when she spoke, her voice carried effortlessly across the entire chamber without the need for amplification.
"Hello, everyone. Before you panic or start arguing about whether this is real or not, just understand that President Hanson is correct and we are exactly what he says we are. We are from another world far beyond this one. And while you call us aliens, that term feels a little narrow considering how many worlds actually exist."
She lifted her hand and for a brief moment, a miniature sun formed above her palm, glowing with intense heat and light that made several people instinctively recoil before she closed her hand and made it vanish just as quickly.
"Yes, we have abilities, and no, we are not here to harm you. If that were our intention, this conversation would not be happening and this planet would already be gone."
Veneri stepped forward beside her as he looked across the gathered leaders. Never in his two lives did he expect to act like an alien addressing presidents from across the world.
"We ended up here by accident. And while we are looking for a way back to our own world, we have no issue helping you deal with your current problem. Honestly, it's not as complicated as it seems from our perspective. Fixing your moon's trajectory is something she can handle without much difficulty,"
They looked at Narisva, who waved at the cameras.
"At the same time, we are going to explore your world while we are here. It's been a long time since I have seen it and things have clearly changed. So if anyone here is expecting us to sit still and act like controlled assets, that is not going to happen. If you want autographs or photos, you can wait in line like everyone else, and if you don't like us being here, that's unfortunate but you will have to deal with it."
Narisva crossed her arms and pointed at the leaders,
"And just to make things clear, we're cooperating because we want to, not because we have to, so try not to make this complicated with unnecessary politics. Because from what I have seen so far, you already do that enough without outside help."
