Meanwhile, upstairs, Ella had just finished her shower. Dressed in a comfortable pair of pajamas, she stepped out of the bathroom. Cassandra was already seated on the sofa by the window, absentmindedly scrolling through her phone.
Ella sat down on the edge of the bed, noticing the distant look in Cassandra's eyes immediately. "You hurt him, you know that right?"
Cassandra slowly looked up from her phone. "I know." Her voice was barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean to." She lowered her gaze to her clasped hands. "I just..." She sighed. "I panicked when Grandpa brought him up?"
She rested her elbows on her knees, clasping her hands together. "Grandpa was right, I let my emotions lead me. I didn't even think before I spoke up."
She has known Carlton her entire life, he is the son of a very dear family friend and he has always been friends with Alexander and Henry. He was also her secret crush whom only her mother had known about, and now Ella. At the thought, Cassandra smiled.
